1 I promise

Colton looked over at the sleeping Huntress then back over to Alexa. They had plenty of canned vegetables but no meat. He know if they were all to make it to the safe house they would need more substantial meals. He got up and left the bunker to hunt both girl's some meat, he figured a rabbit would be enough for one female. So he left with the thought of catching two. 'I'll need to gut, skin and cook them out of the bunker before I can let them eat it. Alexa would be so sad to see me gut and skin a rabbit in front of her.' He knew Alexa very well at this point in time, he'd watched over her for long enough to know how she'd be.

After he left the tunnels leading to the bunker he took off to hunt, while he hunted he picked up the scent of dogs. 'Damnit, it seems like they caught my scent,' he moved far away hiding his scent using mud and other things. His scent though was in the area of the tunnel which he wasn't able to get back to. He had left the hatch open to make sure there was enough air down in the bunker while he was gone. He waited as they searched, he had been gone for a couple hours and to his horror he saw the huntress climbing out of the tunnels. His heart stopped when he heard the gun shot ring out, he was ready to jump out to deal with the person who dared fire. Though he held himself back as best he could, his hand gripped a branch as he willed himself to stay put. 'I will get her back,' it was the main thought he had as he heard the older woman call out her name and ID number to the other hunters. He saw Helena pushed to the ground and cuffed, he saw as Alexa was carefully retrieved from the tunnels as she screamed and cried for him. He bit his lip as blood pooled around his fang that dug into his skin.

He was beyond angry with what had happened, he couldn't protect Alexa with so many around her. He had killed her father for beating the small girl, she had a chance of going to horrible foster homes. That was something he really worried about happening, he didn't want his sister to be hurt in any way. He then heard Helena speak out, "Alexa don't worry I'll watch out for you." This didn't make him feel better, they were nothing but words, easily broken at anytime. He didn't believe the huntress would keep her word, it was something he expected. He could do little but watch as his sister was whisked away far from his reach and ability to keep her safe. 'I will find you Alexa, and I will protect you, I promise you this my sister.'
