Changing Image

It was the time of the year for the National Higher Education Examination and Ping had personally made tea and gift it to Nana to help the girl stay calm and study as much as she needs. While Nana writes that exam, Ping also went to give examination at Seoul with her new identity. She's confident that she can get into SNU and Nana can too, but that's for later.

"Xiao Wang, did you had a kingdom as a king in the spirit world." Ping questions while they were having late lunch in the café, two pastry each for both of them.

"I have my followers who obeys me and a son." Wang Jiu answers and kept on staring at the girl, because his master is being all cute stuffing her face with the spoonful of chocolate pastry, lips pouting looking so inviting making him wanna lick at-

"You have a son? so you had a wife, where is she now?" Ping was surprised but the knowledge of her now possible boyfriend having a kid had her jumpy with curiosity and a sudden feeling of having someone younger.

"Had, she died when there was a war in the Spirit Realm hundreds of years ago. My son is two hundred and twenty years old." Wang Jiu says and chuckles when he saw how his master's face fall and she starts pouting again.

"Stop being cute master or I will have the urge to kiss you here." Wang Jiu comments, whispering right into his master's face as he lean over to wipe the chocolate cream off Ping's lips with the tissue.

"You will not," Ping eyes widen at the bold words coming out of her conservative suitor. It surprises her so she flicks the man's forehead and rolls her eyes. "So how about my step son, where is he?" she grumbles, getting spoonful of the pastry again, her cheeks puffing up cutely.

"Oh Wang Long lives in the mortal realm with a different name. He is called Oh Hui Jun. I think he lives around here? I haven't met him in twenty years."

Ping slam her spoon down on the table and stare at the man with an 'are you seriously telling me just now' look. Oh Hui Jun was a well known German-Korean business man with lots of assets under him at the age of twenty eight. Cold and intimidating in terms of looks but handsome non the less and friendly and well mannered man. Ping just shakes her head in disbelief because that's the man her Nana said she likes out of all the millions of fucking people in the world and she's polygamous. Fucking great.

"Are you two close?"

"We get along as much as a father and a son could get but we dont see eye to eye most of the time. He's a brat and he's my only son so I'm fond of him." Wang Jiu just shrugs his shoulder and Ping had the urge to slap the fox right on his head, hard enough to throb for days on, and she was deadly bored out of her mind since Nana is busy with exam she can't even go tease the other girl.

"I'm bored, let's go play in the sea."

Wang Jiu was tall, like a six storeys building and to match up to him, Ping also took the form of a fox, matching up to the height of the male but she was few inches shorter. Though her tails came out to be countless and Wang Jiu gave up by the time he counted nineteen and saw more tails then he is ever used to. Playing with his master was fun, Ping was just like an overexcited pup as she runs around the mass surface of the sea chasing Wang Jiu and nipping on his tail if she managed to catch one. There were also sea creatures, the womens who sing the songs of the sea and enchants the sea travelers. Ping was different though, she chase the spirits around the sea as Wang Jiu kept watch as he sat by the cloud above them.

The spirits were all really beautiful, unmatchable by the humans living on the land. Their voices were melodious and they speak as if they were singing. It was quite enchanting and relaxing. Ping took a liking to them. They played tag, chasing each other while laughing and smiling. At noon, they had to part ways and the sea spirits were sad to say goodbye to her, especially since Ping is a very charming women with a strong spirit soul. Ping just said goodbye and jumps into Wang Jiu changing back to her human form with a tired yawn.

"Let's go home now?" Wang Jiu ask and his master hums, snuggling unto his fluffy back.

"Where were you?" her mother questions as soon as Ping steps into the house. Mama Li was looking at her in distaste and annoyance, the usual nothing out of the ordinary.

"I was out looking for a place to move out." Ping directly answered, not beating around the bush because she's tired of pretending.

"Really?" Mama Li turn sarcastic and she even scoffs at her, "Why don't you move out then, like right now?" she glares.

Yan Ping raise her eyebrows at her mother, her eyes questioning and when she saw that her mother is clearly serious and angry she shrugs her shoulders.

"Fine, I'll go away tonight." Ping says blankly and got up the stairs towards her room.

It wasn't a secret how her parents favour her older brother better than her, but she was also their child and they should have even a little bit of love for her. Maybe it was just a wishful thinking which will never gonna come true and it will be better to just move on and starts anew.

Ping only need to tap twice on her luggage bag and that itself started packing on its on while the girl just lay on her bed staring at the white ceiling. Her clothes, shoes and books then her toiletries were the only thing she packed before she took hold of her luggage handle and actually jumps down from the window since she didn't want to face any of her family members.

Wang Jiu was by her side as soon as she step towards the street. He just walk silently behind his quiet master like a guard. It was obvious that his master is devastated and want the silent company. Ping kept on sniffing but didn't outright cries.

"Let's go Seoul."

Wang Jiu booked a hotel and took his master there since the girl was clearly just walking around the the street without any destination. Ping didn't said anything when her fox took her up into an hotel room and made her change into baggy jumper and sleep, but she only fell asleep after laying above the fox and curling into his arms. Wang Jiu is sure that his master cried but she didn't cried human tears, instead a black liquid trails down out of her eyes, metallic and rusty, like an aged old bloody goo.

Wang Jiu had too got up to wash up and clean his master free from the blood tears, then he lays back holding his master in her sleep.

The next day, Ping still seems sad but she was eating and functioning just fine so Wang Jiu didn't have to fuss over her like the last night. His master looks determine to do something though and the little smirks playing on her lips does nothing to ease his mind. For the time being Ping looks satisfied with having breakfast and cuddling with her precious little fox. It lasted till midday.

"Let's buy a house for us, at that rich hill near the river. I wanna bath in it." Ping says, for a fact Wang Jiu knows no human want to bath in a cold river but apparently his master does.

They used Gu Kyun Hyun, Wang Jiu's human identity to buy the house and settle things with it. Ping asked the lawyer to make Wang Jiu an adult for the soul purpose of this. So that they can use this grown ass man identity since she herself clearly looks like a high school kid and couldn't pose as an adult even with her new identity. Ping also went on a shopping spree and bought everything they need online, decorating the empty mansion up with different styles of furniture and kitchenettes. The sitting area got parted into two, one side got filled up with Italian styled chair and table set while the other side were covered with big black and grey fluffy fur rug and cushions with a round big low table in the middle. In the kitchen the cooking utensils were there, the pantry was stocked and the long dinner table was already present so Ping left it like that. The other rooms were untouched and Ping only ordered a rather large bed for the master bedroom in the middle floor, saying that there's no point in buying extra if they are gonna just end up sleeping next to each other anyway but she also said Wang Jiu can pick a room for himself if he feel the need to it or wants privacy. Nana can do the same too. Ping didn't even ventured up to the top floor and only worked to get the master bedroom clean up to her taste. The large bed was put into the middle, headboard against the wall. It was an old English style and Ping got thick mattress for it and everything white to cover it, white sheets and blankets, soft fluffy pillows and thin drapes. The walk in closet is yet to be filled but Ping got a large mirror to be set against the wall right beside the door to the closet, which was a large room by itself if you ask Wang Jiu. Such luxury, but Wang Jiu can tell his master had only got the things that she thinks is necessary for her. Ping only got things for the kitchen, sitting room and the bedroom; the walls were bare and so was the hallways.

"We'll live with our new identity and build our own image for it. I hope you're with me Wang Jiu, my dear little fox. It seems that I only have you and Nina now but that's all I need and you both are enough for me."
