1 Past Is Past

You hear the loud gunshots being fired in the distance. You fear for your life and run as fast as you can, torwards the light. The light, which is not alive anymore.

Your only hope is gone,

lost,

dead.

While you try shaking the lifeless body of your little brother, only small cracks can be heard, nothing more, nothing less. You are at the loss of words.

What happened?

Who did this to your little brother?

Your only light is gone from this world, and it's someone's doing. Someone had to do this. You feel your insides bubbling. Your mind is at the edge breaking apart.

One last time, you take your brother's hand is yours, and feel it.

It's cold and lifeless. Like you.

You let go and you start running torwards the unknown. The dark forest, which is now in front of you, is welcoming you into it's depths with only a cold breeze.

The ground is cold against your bare feet. Your skin is ripped from several places because of the several beatings you've had to endure for the past month. The cold breeze makes it even worse as you try limping your way into the unknown darkness.

The night is dark and cold. You have nowhere to go or no one to give your trust anymore.

Everything is completely gone.

You feel your limbs shaking from the intense pain, so you decide to stop and sit under a tree. The tree is huge. You could fit a whole car inside of it.

You chuckle at your childish thoughts and sigh.

What is going to happen to you now?

Will you die?

No, you won't.

You are already dead.

You feel your eyelids slowly covering your eyes as you are falling asleep under the huge tree next to you. You don't dream. You don't think. You just fall into the dark depths of sleep.

-...-

You wake up and realize that you aren't in the same place you fell asleep at. You are in a room. You can't really see anything, because it's really dark inside.

What you can see, is a small window across the room, which is the only thing that's emmitting light to the tiny room. Yes, the room is tiny. It only seems to have a bed in the middle, leaning against a dark-blue wall, and a table that has a small digital clock placed nicely in the middle.

You sit up and examine the rest of the room. Now that you think about it, it's a nice little room. It brings up some warm memories of you and your little brother, playing in the forest and laughing uncontrollably at your little jokes.

You smile and stand up from the creaky bed.

Finally you see the door. You walk to the door and reach for the handle. The door makes a creak sound as you open it, and you cringe a little, still uncertain if there are people on the other side or not.

There aren't.

You sigh and close the door behind you and continue your exploring. The other room next to the one you were in is a bit bigger. It has a blue sofa in the middle and a nice TV leaning against the wall. You walk up to the sofa and touch the fabric. It feels silky under your touch. It feels expencive.

You look up and realize the ceiling is pretty high-up. There is a big chandelier hanging from the ceiling which makes you think. Although this apartment is pretty small, it's full of really expensive things, that chandelier for example, is full of shining diamonds and other expensive looking things.

A door opens and closes. You flinch and hide behind the big sofa. The footsteps are getting closer as you think of a way to escape the house. You fail, because another door opens and a man enters the room. He examines the room and sees you. He smiles and approaches you, kneeling in front of you and reaching you with his big hand.

You look at him with a confused face, tilting your head a little to the side. He chuckles and takes your hand. He looks at you and smiles again. You wonder who this man is, but for some reason, he makes you feel relaxed and not afraid.

"Hello," The man says and you flinch again, because nobody has talked to you for months. It reassures you a little and you relax a bit more. Of course you won't reply, but the man notices you relaxing and he continues his small talk with you.

"My name is Yong Won-Shik. You can call me Mr. Yong, if you want to," He smiles and pats my head with his other hand. My eyes widen at the act and I push the hand away as soon as it touches my head. The man named Mr. Yong looks shocked and smiles again.

"I assume you aren't used to this kind of behaviour, I'm sorry for surprising you all of a sudden," He smiles and bows a little in front of me, which makes me a little confused.

Why is he bowing to me?

You back away a little and the man looks surprised. He opens his mouth like a fish, but closes it for some reason. Suddenly he gives me a creepy smirk and gets closer to me again.

"Are you aware of the fact, that I saved you from that dark forest and brought you here to rest?" He rises one of his eyebrows in an inquiring manner and smirks again. Then he speaks again: "You realize I'm the one who saved you, right?"

He's the one who brought you here? Why? You didn't need help from him. You didn't want to be helped. For the first time, you opened your mouth, ready to speak.

"I didn't ask for your help, Mr. Yong," You coldy answered at him and Mr. Yong widened his eyes again with a smirk across his face.

"I see..." He said and stood up. You examined every move he made. He was heading for the door again and turned around one last time to say something to me. "Young girl, you belong to me now. I won't let you go that easily," He said and exited the room in a hurry. You were left in the room alone, dumbfounded and shocked at his latest statement. You were nervous at the fact that he wouldn't let you escape from the house.

You stood up and started to think of all the possible ways to escape the house. The windows were a no-go, because all of them were boarded up, inside and out. The door in front of you was the only thing that came into your mind, so you decided to open it. To your surprise, on the other side, was the kitchen. You smirked and thought of a plan.

There was a fire alarm placed in the ceiling. Maybe you could do something to trigger the alarm, so Mr. Yong would rush into the house to look for you and you would slide outside without him noticing. That would be a pretty great plan.

You saw an oven in the kitchen and smirked. There seemed to be no cameras in the apartment, which made everything a step easier for you.

You started looking for a chair from the house and as you found one, the supposed front door opened again. You were terrified and put the chair back to it's place. You saw Mr. Yong walk through the kitchen and then to you.

There goes your plan to escape.

"Change of plans, we are getting out," he said and suddenly grabbed your hand and started to drag you out of the house. You was screaming and wiggiling, but nothing seemed to work as he just tightened his grip around your wrist, which hurt a lot. Not that you can't bear it, but it still hurt.

Once you got outside, you widened your eyes in shock. You were not in the same town you were yesterday. It was a completely different town, maybe even a different country. Mr. Yong stopped and laughed. "If you're thinking of escaping, you won't get far. This place is heavily guarded by my men," He laughed again and grabbed your wrist harder.

This time you were truly terrified about what was going to happent to you now. You have no idea how you're going to escape this prison like place now. You were lost and it seemed like Mr. Yong thought this was only the beginning for him and you.
