620 Mad Time

Michael soon returns to the Eye of the World with Charlotte in tow. Immediate once the door opens Maria bursts out and wraps her daughter up into a hug, squeezing her so tightly that Michael feared her eyes would pop out.

While that was going on the others rushed over to Michael, all incredibly thankful that he'd returned to normal. At least somewhat... It was obvious to all that he'd become far more powerful, not to mention his almost overpowering presence. If his companions weren't already individually strong they'd have been unable to talk around him at all.

He'd have to work on fixing this, though, he imagined that standing in the presence of a Daedric Prince would silence almost everyone barring the few completely fearless or totally mental.

He makes small talk and continually reassures his friends that he was fine for around an hour, which is how long it takes for Maria to finally let go of Charlotte. After that, he was sat down and basically told to explain everything to them in a way they'd understand... Obviously, his short muttered words in his apathetic state weren't good enough for them.

Yeah, he did get a few, or many slaps for deciding to go off on what was essentially a suicide mission without telling anyone. He accepted them, knowing that they were technically right.

"So... You're a Daedric Lord now?" Megumin questions, asking what everyone else truly wanted to know.

He shrugs, "Yeah, 'Daedric Lord of Promises', or something like that."

"What's it feel like? You know, being a god..." the explosion-girl presses.

"Physically, not all that different. Mentally... Hmm, it's hard to put into words. Imagine suddenly growing new limbs, I don't have complete control of them yet but I can feel them, move them if I try hard enough. If I look carefully I can see each hair on my arm, each nail on my finger..." he trails off with a wistful look.

"Since you took Clavicus place, does that mean you're the god of everything he was?" Saya asks.

Michael nods, "That and some more that I gained on my own. I own every soul Clavicus did and can feel any connection he made. To be honest, I'm still getting a handle on it... There's tens of thousands of connections just in Tamriel alone."

"What did you gain on your own?" Tiffania questions curiously.

He rubs the back of his head, "The Concept of Death..." he admits, not mentioning the fact that it was the Dead God who'd facilitated that one.

"Death?"

"T-that's impressive." Saya utters in thought, "The only Daedra I can think of with anything remotely close to that is Mehrunes Dagon."

"Is it really that good? I'd rather be the god of magic or explosions." Megumin shrugs.

"God of Swords." Saeko wonders aloud with an eager smile on her face.

"Well, if anyone else is going to become a god it's going to be me. God of Intelligence." Saya sniffs at them, "Not like that'll happen. Mantling like Michael did is very, very stupid. If he was anyone else we'd be sitting with a horned Imp and his mutt... Huh, do you have a Barbas of your own? You've already started creating Daedric Artifacts." she gestures at the dark gold rings around the nubs of his horns.

He crooks a brow, "Daedric Artifacts?" he questioned, the rings were hardly anything impressive.

Saya looks at him incredulously, "Michael, you know that they would instantly kill anyone who wore them, right? I can feel their power from over here."

He shrugs, "Well that's normal, I did enchant them with the Concept of Death. Any less and I'd be embarrassed."

...

"Why'd you cut your horns anyway? I thought they were cool." Megumin states.

"They're annoying enough standing, how the fuck do you think I'm going to sleep with them sticking out of my head? I doubt Tiff'll like getting poked by them either..." 'she gets poked enough as it is' he mentally adds.

"Do you even need to sleep? You're a god now..." Tiffania asks.

...

"I... Probably don't have to, but I will anyway. Going without sleep sounds like hell."

*Tik!*

*Tik! Tik!*

...

The group turns towards one of tower's walls, quickly realising that they were staring a window which was being pelted with what looked like small stones...

"I don't remember there being a window there..." Maria cautiously offers.

*SQUAWK!*

"LOVE I GET SO LOST SOMETIMES!" a loud, manic voice shout/sings from outside.

*SQUUUAAWWK!*

"DAYS PASS AND THIS EMPTINESS FILLS MY HEART!"

*SQUAAAWAK!*

"WHEN I WANT TO RUN AWAY I DRIVE OFF IN MY WAGON! AHA!"

*SQUAWK!*

Michael stands to his feet and looks out the window, paling when he spots just who it is...

Rocks hadn't been hitting the window, small wheels of cheese had. A man was stood at the base of the tower holding up a malformed-looking Clannfear above his head as he sings.

"What the fuck is Sheogorath doing outside... How did he even get through the Veil!?" Michael asks, dumbfounded.

"BUT WHICHEVER WAY I GO! I COME BACK TO THE PLACE YOU ARE!" the mad god shouts without any sort of tone or rhythm.

Michael's about to step back and check if the Spire was still operational, ignoring Sheogorath completely... Until the mad god reacted.

"OI BRAT! YOU BETTER STAY THERE AND LET ME FINISH OR SO HELP ME! IT'S NOT EVERY DAY I GET TO WELCOME NEW FAMILY! I PREPARED THIS SONG AND ALL OF THIS CHEESE JUST FOR YOU!"

"How do you even know that song!?" Michael shouts, knowing Sheogorath didn't have the capabilities to visit Earth.

"HAHA! I HAVE NO IDEA! IT JUST CAME TO ME! YOU LIKE IT!?"

"I don't want your cheese! Piss off back to Oblivion you mad bastard! And leave that poor animal alone!"

"THIS THING!?" he exclaims, jolting the Clannfear in his arms and causing it to squawk louder. "THIS THING WOULD EAT YOUR FACE BEFORE YOUR CHEESE! LETTING IT GO IS MADNESS!... Okay!" he chucks the lesser Daedra off of the cliff, causing it to land on the Jarl's house... It survives of course, and immediately begins attacking Jarl Korir and his family.

"You fucking idiot!"

"HAHA! TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE! I'LL BE SEEING YOU LATER, BROTHER!" Sheogorath cackles as he jumps off of the cliff and disappears into a portal.

Michael tentatively glances at the others, "This never happened."

They all nod, not arguing this at all.
