16 Realization

I turned to Kell and was going to ask him how he treated Laci but instead saw him smirking 

"What are you smirking at"

"You two"

"Why? Wanna see me pass out again?"

"Idiots"

"What?"

At that moment Laci decided to join our conversation

"I'm sorry. I don't follow"

Kell decided to be nice enough to repeat what he said, but this time he actually included an explanation

"See? Idiots! Both of you! Do you not realize that exactly when your powers switched you guys acted different. Red, when you woke up the first time, how did you feel?"

"I felt scared and weak."

"Exactly. You! Green boy! How did you feel?"

I was pretty sure that this question was directed towards Laci.

"Me? I felt angry, and strong, and like I could beat anybody up."

"Okay, so now how do you feel?"

"Like I messed up very badly and all I want to do is apologize because I'm afraid that Red is gonna be mad."

 "See what I mean?! What I noticed during the second time that Red passed out was that you were acting exactly like her -except a little mean, like when she was a child- and when she woke up she acted exactly like you! So what I'm saying is that neither of you might actually be you. Instead you are defined by your powers!"

Laci and I looked at each other confused, and I decided to break the ice.

"So...how do we...be ourselves?"

"When you went to, well, wherever you went to, what did you see?"

"I saw four holes carved into the stone. Two of them were occupied by the red and green jewels."

Just then an old woman barges into Kell's house with some sort of paper in her hand.
