4 His Regrets

"Miss? What are you doing in front of young master's room?"

"Hm?"

"It's still noon. Sir won't be back until 8:00" Darn. She forgot that. She had been so excited that she forgot he had work and was in his office busy doing his job.

"Yeah, of course!" She laughed it off as she felt embarrassed for forgetting and started heading down, passing each step slowly as her face turned red.

She was now sitting on the couch switching channels one by one feeling bored and moved to check the time. 8:45pm. She had been waiting for him from 4:30 on and there was still no sign of him. Hannah had already left 45 minutes ago after preparing them dinner.

Suddenly her cell phone vibrated with an incoming call. As she took it she saw Tanya's name and swipped up the green button. "Hey, what's up?"

"Did you register?"

"What are you saying?"

"About the contest girl!"

"Oh.. no not yet. Thought I would call 'em someday, this week" She had to ask her husband before doing anything. After all they live together and she didn't wanna make him more disappointed than he already is.

"What!? You didn't? Adrienne, tomorrow's the last day. Sorry I brought it late to you but since you would have done it today there would have been no probs. But, of course I was wrong." Adrienne went rigid with shock and started to get worried. She needed time. Time to think on how to approach him with her request. If not today then never. But having 2 or 3 days would have made it easier but as usual, life was never on her side. It had been playing tricks with her ever since she got married. "Addy, you there?"

"Why didn't you tell me this earlier?" She questioned sounding vexatious.

"Argh. I'm so sorry dude. But you could have checked the details. And you still got one more day left so it's not a big deal, duh." She didn't understand. Her friends doesn't know how hard it is for her to get an approval from him. She was getting anxious by each second. She had no idea what to do. She didn't wanna disappoint her friends by giving them a negative answer. She had always given priority to her buddy's entreaties through out her life. They were her second family. But she didn't wanna upset Eric either.

"Okay then." She finally said with a long sigh.

"Great! Now then, I have to go. Gotta call Ken. See ya tomorrow. Goodnight."

"Night."

After she hung up. She turned back to glimpse towards the front door. Still no sign of him. It was already past 8:00 and he hadn't come. 'Was he okay? Did anything happen?' She even thought of calling but she didn't have his number. He never considered giving his wife his number. What else should she expect from someone who loathed her. After a moment she let it go and continued staring at the screen. She might as well wait for a bit longer.

"That's all for today. You all may leave now." He exclaimed as he dismissed the crowd from his meeting hall. It was past 9:00. He groaned. He was exhausted. His assistant had come to his office the time when he was ready to leave saying there was an unexpected meeting. Now he had little time to get ready for tomorrow. There was a very important meeting waiting for him in Britain and he had to leave by 4:30 tomorrow morning. A 3 week bussiness trip. After gathering everything he wanted he got into his private elevator reaching the ground floor and advanced towards his car.

The road was hushed. The city of northern California had been always calm after 10:00. And it was raining, making the atmosphere colder. Becoming harder to drive from all those mist and fog making it more difficult to see ahead. Passing through all those hassles he finally reached home and got out soaking wet. He rushed towards the entrance-opening the front door and saw a figure laying on the sofa after getting in. She was sound asleep-resting on her side facing him. He stood there for a minute, scanning her over. He then approached her involuntarily and stood a mile away. She seemed tiny with those tank top and shorts as she slept like a cocoon peacefully. While observing her closely he neared even close, oblivious to his actions, kneeling down and now they were a breath away. Her eyelashes were pretty long with thick eyebrows in great shape enough to be a great match and that adorable perfect button nose gave her face a great charm. His eyes then moved to her lips, a soft plump with bright pink shade-kissable lips which men would find hard not to kiss tasting against their mouth..

He abruptly stood up shaking his head cursing the women for seducing him by doing nothing but who lay still being unaware of his thoughts and climbed upstairs straight to his room. He felt angry to himself for having such a luscious thought about her. The person who made his life a mess with her presence. He had never felt anything like this before. He did have numerous beautiful women in his life but never really had a feeling of want for them other than fulfilling his sexual needs. But this women, gave him a complete new feeling. A feeling of need which no women had accomplished yet. Not even Camilla, a busty women. She had everything he wanted but never really had a need for her. She had been into him ever since she started working as his assistant. Took advantage of every situation. Approaching him whenever they were alone and who was he to reject?

She was a daily source for sex. Even she knew he was using her. Still she continued to seduce him all day and night. She made him forget Adrienne. Made him forget his wretched marriage life. He would always wake up early and leave before she rouses in hope of not seeing her face. At night it was easier 'coz she dozes off before he comes. But today he didn't know why she had been there. She is pretty he would give her that but not attractive enough to replace his hate for her in his mind. He would never give her the audacity to even think of living happily-ever-after with him, not even in her dreams. The clock struck 10:30 as he got out from his shower climbing onto bed wearing a night pant. Tomorrow will be a long day. He had to get to his office first, preparing all the papers needed for the meeting before flying to Britain. Being a CEO of a famous reputed company was tough and his father being the chairman wasn't helping either but making it even hard. His father had always been strict. The twins suffered a lot with him when they were young. Mr Sebastian had been determined to make them both up to the standards he wished for. Be it brilliance or the etiquette necessary for a rich and elegant family. But who knew the tough guy facade could get broken down by an innocent and beautiful soul. The only person who could tame Mr Sebastian, bringing a complete new character out of him was always Mrs Ella. He remembered his beautiful young caring and loving mother with a gentle smile on his face. Ella was always their life saver from him. Doing things for them disregarding their father's warnings. Played games, had fun and those talks and laughs they had. Mostly her adorable sweet voice. Singing them lullaby every night. Even when they grew up. Everyone loved her. Loved talking to her. Loved hearing her sing. Loved working with her. She was a true angel. If he had not gone to that place. If he hadn't left his home at all. Or if he had kept his phone to himself the whole day. If he-

He stood up after getting out of his bed, taking a deep breath-clearing his mind, calming himself down. And moved to turnoff the light as he climbed back before swallowing a sleeping pill from the night stand and closed his eyes. It would help him sleep well. It would make his mind clear of that dreadful memory. And it did as he felt himself being drift away into darkness.

Adrienne opened her eyes with a start hearing her stomach growling. She started looking around with a daze and sat up shocked finding herself in the couch. She then realized she had dozed off while waiting for her husband until the very morning. Today is the last day for registration. She had not asked him yet. She wondered if it was already time for him to leave. She knew he would always rise by 5:00 and leave before her alarm wakes her up. She took out her phone from the floor which might have fallen because of her recklessness and checked the screen which showed 5:05am. She had time before he goes off to work.

She rushed towards his room with hope before her face turn into a disappointment as she found the room empty. She then went down in search of Hannah. Even though Eric never tells her anything, he informs Miss Hannah.

She was the only source of her husband's whereabouts.
