9 Ch 1:4

Lolli found herself shivering in the middle of the night. She bundled herself further into her blanket, but found no relief. Instead, she decided to mess with the orb on the other side of the room. But it was too far, and she didn't want to leave bed. Slowly, the orb hovered over to her side of the bed. She found that raising her hands up made the room warmer. The orb changed from blue to yellow.

But after a few minutes, she found herself shivering again. The orb hadn't changed back to it's previous color, so why? Lolli raised the temperature once more and laid back down. Even with the orb glowing red, Lolli had no resistance to the cold.

"You keep moving your hand, why?"

Lolli flipped herself around to see the bandaged person from before staring at her. She yelped and tried to push Iowa away. But Iowa grabbed her thin arms before she could.

"What are you doing here? How did you find me?" Lolli asked in a rather loud whisper. Instead of answering, Iowa moved one of Lolli's hands to her hair. She felt something even colder inside of it. She picked the little icicle without Iowa controlling her." Did you find me using this?" Lolli asked," can you make anything else?" Iowa narrowed their glowing eyes as Lolli pat the side of the bed." I can make many things out of ice," Iowa said as they climbed onto the bed," but I didn't come here for that."

"Oh, why did you come?"

"I need your help to get information for me. Could you do that?"

"I guess I can! I'm very good at reading! But only books with pictures."

"No, I don't need that. I want you to keep an eye on the adults here. And also the new princess."

"I guess I can, but why?"

Iowa shook their head. Lolli stared at him expectantly.

"There are bad people here. So I want to keep an eye on them. Well, I want you to," Iowa answered, finally.

"Okay, can I have a favor too?" Iowa sighed, but nodded.

"Can you be my friend?"

"I can do that."

Lolli's face lit up. Though, Iowa could barely see it. The moon was covered by clouds.

"I'll be taking my leave now, have a good night," Iowa said. Lolli gave her new friend a tight hug. Then, Iowa headed towards the window. Lolli rushed out of bed. They were on the second floor! Iowa hopped out the window anyways. But luckily, there was a giant ice creature with wings. It seemed to have the basic shape of a butterfly, with wings and a middle piece.

"Huh? Won't the guards see you?" Lolli asked.

"I already took care of that. Now go to sleep."
