22 -22- Rina wants revenge

Ogata Rizu, a genius in science plans to apply for arts and literature?

Furuhashi Fumino couldn't find words to express her surprise. What a waste! Especially since Ogata Rizu's performance in arts and literature was nearly as dismal as hers in science. Fumino had intended to offer some words of encouragement, but when she opened her mouth, she realized that she was in the same boat.

Despite being dubbed a genius in arts and literature, she was adamant about applying for a science university. In that moment, something clicked within Fumino, and she set aside her other concerns, grabbing Ogata Rizu's hand and saying, "Ri-chan, let's work hard together."

"Oh... um..." Ogata Rizu was unsure how to respond to this sudden burst of enthusiasm. Fumino had a strong grip on her hand, and the idea of working hard together with a genius in arts and literature...

Was she underestimating her?

Just as Ogata Rizu considered whether she should ask Fumino to release her hand, Fumino's phone vibrated. Remembering her manners, Ogata Rizu gently reminded her, "Fumino, your phone is ringing."

"Sorry..." Fumino realized she had been holding someone's hand without permission, and it was quite firm due to her excitement.

She apologized and let go, picking up her phone. She glanced at the message, which was from Kazuto-san, informing her about a change in the location for today's tutoring session. It would be held at Shuchi'in Academy's student council room.

Shuchi'in Academy was the prestigious school that Kazuto-san attended...

Although Fumino understood this, the idea of going to such a prestigious school made her subconsciously hesitate. It was like the first time she had spoken to that delinquent girl; she felt nervous and thought she might get bullied.

Ogata Rizu retrieved her hand and rubbed it gently. Fumino's expression had turned unusually worried. Concerned, Ogata Rizu asked, "Is something wrong, Fumino?"

There had been some negative rumors about Shuchi'in Academy recently. If it became known that she was going to Shuchi'in Academy, she might be implicated in those rumors.

So, after regaining her composure, Fumino pondered for a moment and then casually replied, "It's nothing, Ri-chan. Just some spam email."

Ogata Rizu nodded in agreement, slightly irritated by spam emails that bothered people. No wonder Fumino's expression had seemed odd; she must have been bothered by it. Ogata Rizu offered some advice, "Fumino, it might be best to set up your phone to block emails from unknown senders. That way, you can eliminate spam from the source."

"I understand, Ri-chan." Fumino closed her phone and placed it in her desk's compartment. She replied, "Lunch break is almost over. You should return to your seat, Ri-chan."

Regardless, I have to go to Shuchi'in Academy. It's related to getting help with my studies, and it doesn't seem like Kazuto-san would do anything unreliable. Those worries of mine should be unfounded.

.....

In the afternoon, after school, Kirisu Kazuto and Fujiwara Chika arrived at the Tabletop Gaming Club.

In the morning, he had incurred a favor from Kitahara Rina. At the time, he didn't understand, but now that kazuto understood, she was no longer around, Kirisu didn't want to go visit her classroom to thank Rina directly. It would feel awkward.

However, the fact remained. Taking advantage of their visit to the club, Kirisu Kazuto expressed his gratitude, "Rina, I've understood what you said this morning. Thank you for helping me."

Kitahara Rina raised an eyebrow. She had guessed the purpose of their visit when Kirisu Kazuto and Fujiwara Chika came in. The "pretty boy" wasn't all that bad. At least he understood the concept of returning a favor. Besides, her attitude was also kinda rude. So she'll just canceled out her revenge from yesterday's game when she got tricked by Kazuto.

Kitahara Rina and Kitahara Yukina are sisters. Although he knew that Kitahara Rina had taken the lead in this matter but after thanking her, Kirisu Kazuto also expressed his gratitude to Yukina in the same way.

"Well, Kazuto-kun is one of us now. That Idoji Shuichi tarnished Shuchi'in's reputation. Even if Rina didn't act, someone else would have taken care of it," Dafuku Riko said as she brewed some tea and brought it over with a smile.

"Even Dafuku-senpai know about it?" Kirisu Kazuto was surprised. The speed at which this news had spread exceeded his expectations.

Taking the tea, Dafuku Riko took a small sip and chuckled, "Yes, I've heard a little."

Kazuto-san still didn't understand the situation at Shuchi'in Academy. Rumors that tarnished the school's reputation were bad enough, but the term "Shuchi'in's young lady" used by that Idoji Shuichi had a broad implication.

Should she say he was fearless or just plain stupid? Did he not understand how many young ladies there were at Shuchi'in Academy? This kind of carpet bombing-style attack, how foolish did one have to be to undertake it?

The group of young ladies here, if each of their families made a little effort, Idoji Shuuichi wouldn't even know how he met his end. He doesn't even know what kind of people he had provoked.

But it was not easy for her to explain such dark matters. Setting down her teacup, she continued, "Rina acted quickly. If it weren't for that Idoji Shuichi being sent to Siberia, I would have wanted to help Kirisu-kun get some payback."

Kirisu Kazuto felt slightly at a loss for words. Dafuku-senpai didn't seem to be joking, and after a moment's pause, he expressed his gratitude once again, saying, "I appreciate your concern, Dafuku-senpai."

"Let's not talk about that. How about we play some games? Kirisu-kun, if you want to remember the kindness of your senpai here, you should come to the club more often."

She took out a set of mahjong tiles from her bag. It was time to get into today's club activity. Dafuku Riko smiled and suggested, "How about playing mahjong today?"

So, it turns out you brought a set of mahjong in your bag today...

But considering it was Dafuku-senpai, Kazuto Kirisu wasn't too surprised. She was the president of the Tabletop Gaming Club and the one who led their game sessions.

After counting the people present, there were only five of them in the clubroom so far. The others hadn't arrived yet. Dafuku Riko asked, "Kirisu-kun, do you know how to play mahjong?"

"I know the basics, but I'm just a beginner," Kazuto Kirisu replied modestly. He had played Japanese mahjong mobile games, so he considered himself a mahjong novice, but when asked by Dafuku-senpai, it was better to downplay his skills a bit.

Hearing that Kazuto could play, Dafuku Riko arranged the seating and urged them to begin, saying, "Alright, Chika, Rina, Yukina, and Kirisu-kun, the four of you should play."

Since they didn't have a mahjong machine, they would have to shuffle and arrange the tiles manually. But this added a unique charm to the game, and they were up for it.

...

The four of them sat around the mahjong table, shuffled the tiles, and drew lots for seating positions. Rina ended up sitting as Kazuto's dealer.

What's this?

A golden opportunity!

She no longer cared about the game incident with Kazuki from yesterday when she and her sister were turned against each other. However, if a chance for revenge presented itself, she couldn't let it slip by.

Inside her heart, there was only a sense of excitement. After all, Kirisu Kazuto didn't know, right? Apart from the club president, she was the most skilled at mahjong in the club. She was the vice-president of the Tabletop Gaming Club, but she hadn't played mahjong with Kazuko and the others before. It was her first time, so they had no idea how skilled she was.

Now, let's see how she can put that pretty boy in his place and make him realize that people with the surname Kitahara weren't to be trifled with!
