104 years ago the human society changed. Scientist dicovered the presence of what is now called evo gates, these gates where rumored to contain strands of alien DNA dubbed primordial inheritances which when unlocked allowed humans to perform inconcievable feats. At first no one believed until humans started showing signs of special abilities unlocked after countless experimentations.Now society and the world at large has been fragmented each standing strongly by their ideologies. Society had become grouped into the Naturals and the Novas while the world had seperated into three countries who had been at war for 1000 years. To train the fuure generation Nova academies have been created in different parts of the planet and even outside the planet to train the next gen of soldiers and Novas.

The Empire Alliance Nova outpost was a majestic sight. It was as large as a city and stretched far underground in case of attacks from enemies. It was the color of jade green and a very pitch black color. There were training grounds everywhere and recreational centres and stores. The academy itself was divided into 5 schools which were the Blackstar school, the Emperorstar school, the Aegis school, Darklight school and the most prestigious of all the Empire school. All these schools exist for seperate purposes entirely.The school i am enrolled in, the Aegis school specializes in trainig bio naturals after their transformation ceremony. The transformation ceremony is to evolve a natural and activate thier bio gene thereby giving them access to unlock their various evo gates. Humans need to have a gene fitness of at least 50 to be seen as a natural and there are some crazy talents that had at least 90 and those guys had a boundless future as unlocking their evo gates would be easy for them but sadly as much as i wished it i wasnt one of those guys. I had a meagre fitness of 50 the lowest ever encountered in the history of the academy but they couldnt reject me since they needed all the help they could get as the Alliance was at war. The Aegis trained students until they reached the stage where they could unlock the first evo gate and achieve knight class where they could move to the Blackstar school but i didnt have that much hopes of leaving the Aegis academy in the first place. If it wasnt for my Uncle who was my only family telling me to go to Pluto i would have stayed on the farm.  

"Hey Matt " Jamie my only friend at the academy who stuck to me despite my unpopularity called out snapping me out of my reverie.

''Are you day dreaming again, you need to get back to the dorm and get some rest so you would be fully prepared for the transformation ceremony" he said in a thick british accent as he pushed me toward the direction of our dorms. Jamie had always been nice to me. I didnt know why and i didnt want to as i only saw him as someone who would leave me in the future to pursue his own dreams.

''Yh thanks i'll be on my way now" i said to him not in the mood for small talks as i thought of the humiliation i would face at the assesment test tommorow after the transformation ceremony.

I walked down the dorm corridors with my head down to avoid most people's gazes and most important to avoid the bully like Hunter and his gang that loitered in the halls. As i almost reached my room i picked up the pace as i wanted to be in the safety of my room as fast as possible. Not looking where i was going with only one thing one my mind i slammed into a chest twice my size and fell on my butt, i looked up and saw a group of boys looking at me in disdain.

''So much for avoiding Hunter" I thought, my expression bitter as i wondered what kid of punishment i was going to endure this time around.

''So you can't watch where youre going you little fuckup of a student" one of the boys said to me but i ignored him for two reasons. One is because i wasnt some push over and two is becuase the leader of the group hunter is the one that gets to decide what happens to me. So with that in mind i looked staright at hunter calmly waiting for what he'll say.

As he noticed my calm gaze he sneered and laughed coldly. "I always noticed you never feared anything or anyone eevn when you have nothing and are just a nobody but now i'm not going to do anything to you today as tommorow is the ceremony and i don't want to get queried so make sure you get some rest as tommorow is when you finally realize that you are nothing and your place in this academy is like a grain of sand in this universe, you are inconsequential'' he said turning away from me with the rest of the goons as they sauntered down the halls.

I got up from the floor and dusted my self making my way to a room on the left. As i entered i lay down on my bed and thought about the ceremony the next day as even though hunter's words were just to spite me i knew them to be true anyway. The ceremony required at least a silver class power core which we used to activated the transformation and ignite our inheritance but i didn't even have a basic power core. Power cores were the most important things to have before the ceremony cause apart from talent the core also helped in boosting your fitness and giving modifications like seeing in the dark and breathing underwater. They were esssentially the foundation for strength . Despite all that, in some cases power cores were not needed in transformation ceremonies cause you could equally depend on taent but someone like Matt who did'nt have a power core much less hois meagre talent, well his fate had already decided to bind with mediocrity. All i had was a hard black stone my uncle gave me and told me to never misplace as it was the family hierloom.I didnt know much about my family anyway and my uncle always avoided the topic so i let it go and pushed the thoughts of family to the back of my mind as my uncle always cared for me so i saw him as my only family. Another topic my uncle was a very strange man who always disappeared but always came back and he took care of me so i trusted him but he was wierd, i mean i've never seen a man who would allow his own family go to the family without providing a core. I looked as the stone again before drifting to sleep.

I had a feeling tommorow was going to be a very long day.

It was night, the moon and stars shone a dim light on two lonely backs walking down a deserted street with no indication of a destination.

''So where will you go from here" man 1 asked his friend.

''Where the wind takes me i will go" the other man replied. He was Matt's uncle who had disappeared.

''Did you give the boy the core" man 1 asked.

''I did but i didn't tell him what it was as the decision to use it lies with him and only him'' Matt's Uncle replied solemnly as he looked at the stars with a sense of complex longing.

"You should have at least told him about the core, the future depends on him and we cannot afford to be complacent in our plans" Man 1 harshly rebuked.

"There is no forcing fate old friend we will go with the flow of time" Matts uncle said turning away as he disappeared with the wind. He also hoped in his heart that everything goes according to fate.

"I hope he is right " Man 1 said as he also disappeared into the wind.

A/N: So how was it. i have'nt really edited it so there is bound to be myriads of mistakes but it will get better down the road. I will really appreciate comments and questions and this is our book and our story to tell. I plan to update at random on thursdays. This is literally my first book so im really excited.✌
