.......................

Kenneth found himself pulled into a world without boundaries, The floor was polished smooth as though it was made of blue marble with a golden grid stretching beyond what his eyes could see. The density of magic was pure blue in color and his Alicorn rune was absorbing everything it could. He closed his eyes to enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by dense of magic than he was use to. He would sense the magic in the surrounding was excited to be around him, willingly coming toward him just to get absorbed by him.

After a moment, he opened his eye. Since he could not make out the direction of the place, he simply decided to walk forward. However, the moment he took his first step, all the magic that was excited to be around him froze and lost interest in him and rushed into a different direction as though they found a better playmate.

"Ah since you were taking your merry time to come forward, I thought I would come to you," said a male voice that seem to come from everywhere and no where.

He was startled, his recon-magic did not pick up any living thing. He saw a small white dot zooming towards him at and incredible speed. Kenneth put his guard up, when who ever it was got closer, he was finally able to see what it was.

"A ghost?.... no, a soul?!!!" Kenneth was surprised.

"Correct" said the voice as it finally got close to Kenneth. It was a humanoid soul, the soul was actually twice the height of Kenneth and even had "soul cloths" on. If he compared to his own soul, it was the size of a human head and was always naked in his mind scape. Plus he never had to ability to bring his soul outside of his body. The most depressing part is that the magic surrounding him barely got absorbed by him, it was almost as if magic was sentient and did their best to move towards the soul. Excited by its arrival. The weirdest part that made Kenneth speechless is that the souls sense of style, he was literally wearing a vest and and some sweat pants.

"You are?" asked Kenneth, readying him self to use all of his secondary conscious unit to throw seven of the only magic he knew that affected the soul, the killing curse.

The soul chuckled with excitement as he blabbered and showed off "you know, us ancient wizards are very good at reading the flow of magic. Your so called killing curse can barely tickle us. Not just 7, even if you shoot out 20, if could only be a paper cut to me. Just relax will you? If I want you dead, you would be. the magic in the surrounding is a testament to that... To answer your question, you can call me Amis. You could say I'm about... I forget.. let me see.. ah yes.. its been 25000 years since I have been a soul. yes yes I know, you have questions, how could a soul survive for so long out side a body? why an I wearing modern muggle clothing? Why am I so big? why isn't magic attracted to you when you thought that magic loved you? ahh soo many question and soo many answer to give, oh boy this is exciting, where do I even start? Please don't mind me, I haven't interacted with another living being for 25000 years!!!"

It was obvious that the soul Amis tried to stay calm and cool at the start, but kept getting too excited as he spoke. Towards the end, Kenneth could almost see soul spit coming out of his mouth.

*cough* Amis who realized that he went overboard, faked coughed as he collected him self and went back to his calm self. It was difficult to take him seriously will the way he was dressed.

"why are you not talking?" asked Amis.

Kenneth who was still bewildered, also calmed down and relaxed his collected magic. One thing was for sure, he was at the mercy of this soul, he could feel it from how magic reacted with the soul and him.

"You seem to know my questions already.. erm.. Amis."

"But I don't think you are ready to hear the fully story, my boy. No. Not even close to being ready. Instead of giving you answers about me, what we can talk about is you and what you will get from me. You see this place was created by us to pass on the knowledge we accumulated, but we cannot just give it to any Tom, Dick and Harry. we want it to pass on the ones with certain bloodlines."

"Pure blooded wizards?" interrupted Kenneth, his mood dropped slightly.

"Oh please, I am talking about bloodlines. not the same blood purity your so called 28 sacred families talk about." answered Amis.

Kenneth frowned in confusion and asked, "why does it seem like you know everything that's happening out side?"

"Biscuit?"

"huh?" Kenneth found a tea table that had magically appeared next to him with two chairs. skeptically he sat down and grabbed a biscuit. The moment he did, a single ripple spread across the floor starting from where they were sitting. Moment later he found him self sitting in the middle of the Hyde Park in London.

There were people walking their dogs, having picnics, just walking and jogging. There was even police officers patrolling on horses and children ran around with kites. It all seemed so real.

"This... is real time projection?!" asked Kenneth, surprised.

"Very perceptive of you, I may be stuck here just with the quality and quantity of magic in this place, I have coverage of the entire the British Isles, it has been very boring and entertaining at the same time to watch the history of man kind. Though the advancement of the magical kind was nothing but depressing. You have no idea how much I swore at wizards and witches for their idiocy. If only I could head out, I would have smacked few of them into meat patties!!" said Amis with anger.

Seeing that Kenneth was not showing any interest to his outburst, Amis fake coughed and continued. "Anyway, where was I? ah yes, blood lines. Hmm, where should I start? I think the easiest way for you to understand everything is by starting to talk about Magic it self and how we can use it. You see, boy, magic has always existed in the surrounding, at least that is what was stated in the murals of old and other ancient documents."

Kenneth wondered how old "ancient" was since it was being used by a dude who has been a soul for the last 25000 years. However, he did not interrupt the old soul this time.

"And magic could only be controlled by those that have slightly stronger souls. Now do you see why the magic in the surrounding is more excited to be around me than you? its not because magic it self is sentient, its because I have a much stronger soul, hence, more control over magic than you. When a child with even a slightly stronger soul is born to a muggle family they will cause what you call "accidental magic". This activates the dormant core that is available in every human being."

Looking at the face of the surprised Kenneth he reiterated word by word. "Yes, you heard correctly. Every. Human. Being. I'm sure you can guess, squibs are simple people born to a magical family that does not have a stronger than normal soul. However, the soul can only control the magic but the container for magic is our core and body. Our mind and consciousness is the one that gives direction to our soul and body, thus giving direction and intention to magic that we store in our body. You need all three, mind body and soul to continue to grow stronger in magic, and you need to use magic to continue to train all three aspects of your self, thus creating a infinite circle."

"but that means...?"

"Yes, for the last 25000 years, I have lived but I have never grown stronger..."

"Buy why....?"

"Why would I stay as a soul? that is a story for another time. Lets see if you deserve to hear it in the future, boy. I don't want to just give you all that information, it will only cause more confusion and questions. Besides, I wouldn't mind staying around for another 25000 years waiting for someone else to come." said Amis, Kenneth did not take offence, with a pause he continued. "I have watched you Kenneth, starting from the day Voldemort attacked the Bones family."

Kenneth frowned, he did not like the feeling of being monitored. Amis continued like it was the most normal thing to do, "Voldemort was on the right track, he tried to create a stronger being with a stronger soul and body, but there was one tiny miscalculation. He tried using imperfect material to create something perfect. To put it simply Kenneth, you are like a jigsaw puzzle that has been forced together."

Looking at Kenneth's disbelieving face, he said, "you don't believe me, then watch." with that he pointed his index finger at Kenneth's forehead, a moment later, Kenneth's body slumped into the ground while his 30cm soul floated in its place. Kenneth was shocked at the experience. It was the first time his soul being outside his body. Before Kenneth registered more info. he consciousness started to fade while his soul slowly started to dissipate.

"What is happening to me? am I dying?! Old man! put me back!" Kenneth panicked while trying to utilize magic and every ounce of thought left in him to get back into his body. Just as when he though he was about to be done for, Amis waved his had and the magic around Kenneth Soul condensed and forcefully kept Kenneth's soul from dissipating. After confirming that he was alright, Kenneth looked at Amis with anger.

Amis, with an amused expression asked Kenneth with one eyebrow raised, "Old Man?"

Kenneth forced himself to calm down, last thing he wanted to do was the piss of that guy who could kill him with a thought. "Well, you are 25000 years old." commented Kenneth.

Amis broke into a hearty laughter and said, "I admire how well you control your emotions, kid. Anyway, don't worry. I do not have a reason to kill you. Its just that your soul is too weak to survive outside your body."

Amis then conjured a silver mirror and pointed it at Kenneth's soul and said, "take a look."

Kenneth looked at his soul self in the mirror, everything seemed to be fine. but then the mirror started zooming into his soul. The more it zoomed the more horrified Kenneth got.

Amis explain, "see what I mean?"

Kenneth's Soul was simply many soul of creatures "glued" together with magic and that "glue" was slowly but surely dissipating. It was almost like, if the magic did not held all the souls together, he would die a painful death. A horcrux was created when splitting the soul and it was described that the creator of the horcrux experience unimaginable pain while doing so, Kenneth did not want to imagine what would happen if the "glue" that was keeping his soul together came off. Before Kenneth had another emotional outburst, Amis said, "relax, you can fix it."

"how?" asked Kenneth who was again panicking.

"By using the Killing Curse of course," smiled Amis as though it was the most obvious answer in the world.

Kenneth was a fairly a poker faced man, but even his soul jaw dropped by 2 inches.

Amis went into another fit of laughter, so much so that he actually fell off the chair and rolled on the grass, holding his stomach.

"sigh, your expression in priceless." laughed Amil, while wiping off a fake tear.

He continues, "but I was not joking. putting this topic aside for a minute, let me ask you a question. from everything I just said. What is the cornerstone of controlling magic?"

"According to you, its the soul."

"correct, and what can strengthen a soul?"

"err, magic?"

"correct again, you see the its not that we "ancient wizards" did not pass our magic to the newer generation. Magic requires a strong mind, it requires intention, it requires imagination, we did not want to spoon feed our children thus dulling their minds. so we only taught one technique that will strengthen the cornerstone of a magical being, the soul. and that spell is the infamous "killing curse". Only after our children came off age did we impart the knowledge that we have to them, but tragedy struck and the magical flock was driven near extinction." said Amid, when Kenneth asked what that tragedy was, Amis avoided the topic and said, "Let me show you how to strengthen the soul"

With that he brought his palm forward facing turned it towards the sky and muttered, "Avada Kedavra"

Massive amount of magic gathered to his hand and a green ball in the size of 4 basketball appeared in his hands. The intensity of the killing curse sent shivers down Kenneth's soul, he knew if the curse came close to him, there couldn't even be pieces of his soul left. Amis, as though it was the most normal thing, calmly placed the "curse" on his soul chest. if Kenneth could breath, he would have held his breath.

The curse spread across the entire soul body of Amis, sending green lighting and green fire around his soul body, burning his soul. Amis simply stood there, only his eye twitched a bit from pain. When he saw Kenneth has "seen" everything he needs to see, he dispelled the magic.

What Kenneth saw was not the destruction of Amis' soul, what he saw was more like a refinement of his soul through a magical fire. Kenneth looked at Amis with wide eyes, who said, "well, it seems I don't need to explain anymore as you seem to completely get it. So my dear boy, since the master already demonstrated with a real life example, I think it is time for the student to experience it him self."

To Kenneth could only watch as Amis pointed his finger at Kenneth's soul and muttered with a evil smile, "Avada Kedavra."
