I stood up a minute or so later walking over to pick up my singular tonfa and the two broken pieces of the other, examine them before sighing and tossing the broken pieces away, the wood was splintered and parts were missing. Even when I got my wand and learned the repairing charm it wouldn't be the same.

'Right that was all six of them now, where's my reward' I thought to myself before a screen appeared before me, making me grin as I read it.

Mission: Skeever culling: Complete

Objective: defeat 6 Skeevers on your first visit to Rodents Cave (6/6)- Complete

Reward: 600 Pokédollars, 1x Rare candy, Regular Pokémon Token

That was better than what I had been expecting, a Pokémon token, that would make taking on this dungeon easier with another team member, I'd have to think on just which Pokémon I'd be picking.

Idly I opened my stats page and grinned seeing that on top of the six hundred from the quest I had also earned another hundred and twenty five from the Skeevers themselves. Doing some quick math it worked out at five Pokédollars per level, not a bad pay rate.

But what caught my eye was my XP, from those six Skeevers my own XP had gone from zero to nine, I found that strange but when I opened up Cyndaquil's details it made sense.

Name: Cyndaquil

Gender: Male

Level: 10

Ability: Flash Fire

Moves: Tackle, Leer, Smokescreen, Ember

'So I get one XP for every level that one of my Pokémon gains, that's cool' I thought to myself as I looked over Cyndaquil's page, grinning wider when I saw the addition of Smokescreen and Ember to his movepool.

"Alright, looks like you got some firepower now little buddy," I grinned.

"Cyn-da," My partner chirped before turning to the wall and with a flare of the fire on his back he spewed out some fingernail sized flames from his mouth that peppered the stone wall.

It was pretty weak, but I wasn't expecting much from just Ember of all things, and I wasn't going to voice my thoughts because the little guy looked so happy to be able to use a fire attack.

I chuckled, "glad you're happy buddy," I mused as I closed the page and opened my main menu to think on what I wanted to do next only to pause when I saw an additional menu on the list.

Confused, I tapped on it to bring up the details and my eyes widened at what I saw.

'I can use Pokémon moves!' I screamed in my head before instantly opening the list to see what was on the list and I blinked when I saw the grayed out list of options.

Available moves:-

-Tackle

-Leer

-Smokescreen

-Ember

They were all Cyndaquil's current moves, it made sense, but the fact they were all grayed out had me worried for a second before I noticed up in the corner of the screen was a counter.

I tapped on it to figure out what was going on.

'And there's the nerf,' I mused, so I couldn't use a move on the list until I unlocked it. 

I frowned at the list and thought about unlocking Ember to use myself, but decided against it. While it would be nice to have the extra firepower, pun intended, I wouldn't be getting another point to spend on another move until I leveled up.

Plus with just Cyndaquil right now that meant I would be stuck at level one with just ember until he was level one hundred, that would be a while. And while I did just get another Pokémon token to use, splitting the difference would still mean I'd have to wait until I had both of them at level fifty. 

'No, it will be far wiser to wait a bit longer for when I can unlock a more powerful move to use, it would be far more worth it in the end if I just hold off for now, it won't be that long' I thought.

Closing the screens I stood in thought for a moment, trying to think back to just what moves Cyndaquil and his evolutions learned and when.

'Flame wheel at nineteen, flame charge at twenty eight and flamethrower at forty are the three that come to mind, once I get my second Pokémon my XP gain will double so by the time, so I will hopefully level up again and be able to unlock a second move soon after that and with both my Pokémon being level fifty it will open up a load more moves for me to pick from for my second choice' I thought feeling more sure of my choice to hold off for now.

"Alright, that's us done for now, until I get my wand," I said as I walked back to Cyndaquil as I opened the dungeon page again.

"Cyn-da" Cyndaquil nodded as he moved to me as I bent down and picked him up.

"Yeah I hear ya buddy," I mused as I hit the exit button, "I hate rats too."
