1 A New Beginning

Before this all begins, just to make a few notes. First off, this story has been heavily inspired by NunuXD's MARVEL: GAME MAKER SYSTEM story, so make sure to check that story out, it's a great read. Secondly, the world my character is in is a conglomeration of different worlds together in one. Some may be supernatural, but most are just slice of life and that.

I was tempted to also start off with my character developing Minecraft as the first game, but I want to stray away from copying NunuXD's story as much as possible.

----------------------------------------------------

When Raito was reincarnated into this new world, he had expected it to be your generic isekai genre of a reincarnation where he would find himself in a world of fantasy. One filled to the brim with magic and all kinds of mythical beasts, one that would most likely be in a medieval time.

But, what he got was the complete opposite.

The world that he now called home was similar to his old world both in geography, the kinds of people that live here, and so much much. To put things simply, this world felt honestly no different to his old one. Though, he couldn't say that he was disappointed.

While many people's dreams were to be reborn into a beautiful world of fantasy, he couldn't care either way. He was a modern guy, so he wasn't sure how he would feel being born into a world where things function differently and don't have the necessities he had grown up with. Call him boring, but that was just how things were.

Anyway, when he had been reborn into this world, he was an orphan. Having lived all of his life in a local orphanage here in the city. He didn't mind this at all as he didn't think it'd feel right in his mind to suddenly have new parents. His true mother and father had always taken care of him, and he wouldn't ever replace them with anyone else.

It was in that orphanage that he lived for pretty much his entire life up until now, and he had only left when he reached the age of eighteen to become truly independent. As of the present time, he had only just become nineteen years old. Of course, he would always pay the orphanage a visit whenever he could.

During his time there, he didn't just free load off of them. Utilising his musical talents that he had developed during his previous life, he usually performed on the streets by singing and playing the guitar that the caretakers had kindly bought for him. While he wouldn't say that he was the best, he did have quite the talent for music.

Using the money that he earned from performing, he had helped fund the orphanage as best he could to make it easier on the caretakers. While his contribution may not be the best, it was still something that the caretakers really appreciated wholeheartedly.

Anyway, as of right now, Raito could be seen laying down on his bed inside of his apartment. As stated before, he was a young man who appeared to be nineteen. Having a lean build along with fair skin, his hair being a dark silver along with having a pair of striking orange eyes.

His clothing was simple, just a white t-shirt with black shorts. He was literally at home, so why wouldn't you just get into clothes that you find comfortable to be in? Anyway, he was playing around on his phone as he was scrolling through the internet.

"Still nothing..." Raito sighed as he turned off his phone and placed it beside his head. There were a number of things he had noticed about this world, and one of them was the lack of good entertainment. Don't get him wrong, it wasn't trash, just not up to par with what he was used to.

The different kinds of entertainment like cartoons and anime he had watched in the past were not present, there was anime, just not any good ones. Another thing was the music, it wasn't bad, but compared to what he had heard in the past, none of it could compare.

Despite this though, perhaps it was a blessing in disguise. He had utilised the fact that this world lacked good entertainment and decided to make a profit out of it. His method of income was performing songs onto this world's version of YouTube, and he had been making quite a decent amount of profit off of the songs.

He wasn't sure how he felt about claiming ownership of songs that weren't truly made by him, but perhaps it was okay since he wasn't in the world that he was first born into. He had built up a following quite quickly, rapidly in fact. While he couldn't exactly remake the anime he had watched, not having any animating skills after all, he could at least still produce music.

He had good drawing skills, but animating was something else entirely.

『Please standby』

"What...?" Raito blinked in confusion and surprise when a sudden voice resonated in his mind. He sat up from his bed quickly in a slight panic, his eyes narrowing as he looked around his room. No one had snuck in from the looks of it, so where did that voice come from? "...the hell?"

Raito widened his eyes when his gaze locked onto a floating holographic screen that soon appeared in front of him, the words that had been heard before appearing as a loading icon could be seen below those few words.

He just stared at the floating screen in a daze before shaking his head and cautiously extending his hand towards it with curiosity. How and why was this in front of him? While he would be more surprised if he hadn't gone through literal reincarnation, it was still a shocking sight to see this thing.

When his fingers traced along the screen, he felt like he was running his fingers along smooth glass. It was a strange sensation honestly as it both felt warm and cold at the same time, and it also felt as if there was only a slight amount of friction. Kind of like if you ran your hand along ice.

Aside from that, he was confused about what he heard. What did this thing mean by Game Master System? Was it like those systems that characters got in those stories he had read for fun in the past? He had heard of many systems in novels, cultivation, magic, and even the notorious Gamer System. Was this similar to those?

『Integration complete』

『Welcome to the Game Master System』

When those words were seen on the screen, Raito retracted his hand quickly when the screen shattered, though they quickly began to form together to create a new screen. What he saw was some kind of menu, having given him a number of options similar to a video game menu screen.

...

『Game Master System』

● Create Game

● Game Library

● Current Mission

● Abilities

● Information

...

Raito just stared at the available options with a critical eye for a second before tapping his finger onto the Information tab, that seemed to be the most important one for him right now. He wanted to know exactly what he was dealing with here first before selecting anything else.

When he tapped onto the option, the screen changed and a bunch of new information was soon presented to him. From what he was seeing from first glance, it appeared to be information regarding what the system does and what each of the options meant.

...

『Game Master System』

The Gamer Master System is a system that allows the owner to create any kind of game that he or she or wishes to. By creating games, depending on the quality of the created game, the user will be rewarded all kinds of rewards. Profit gained from the created games will automatically be transferred to the user through some form, let it be credit card or something else.

● Create Game: This tab is utilised to start the creation of a new game. Games that are created can range from countless different genres, let it be Sandbox, FPS, MMO, or more. When these games are played by the public, the players will find themselves thrown into the game by separating their conscience and sending it into the game. When a game is made, the system will grade it. Depending on its grade, better rewards may be given. When the game is released, a promotional video will be automatically created and published to help garner attention.

● Game Library: A list of all games that the user has created. From this library, the user can decide whether to completely remove the game from the internet or not. The older a game is and depending on its grade, the price will automatically be adjusted to either be higher or lower compared to its initial selling value. Within the Game Library, you can also check the analytics of the game and also statistics regarding sales and more.

● Current Mission: The user will be assigned different missions automatically by the system. By completing these mission, a multitude of different rewards will be given upon their completion. The higher difficulty a mission is, the better the rewards will be.

● Abilities: This tab is used to keep track of the user's different talents. They can range from simple talents such as cooking, drawing, and more. They could even potentially extend to more supernatural talents such as the ability to conjure fire and more. The more a user utilises their talents, the proficiency in their use will continue to improve. Ranks: Beginner ⮞ Intermediate ⮞ Advanced ⮞ Professional ⮞ Master.

...

After reading the huge info dump that was presented to him, Raito crossed his arms and thought over all of it. In simple words, this was a system to allow him to create games and make a profit. He did want to remake the games he had played in the past, and this may be the way to do it.

Though, he was curious to find out how the people in this world would react to suddenly finding themselves in a game. This world he now lived in had definitely not reached the stages of Full Dive Video Games, nor has his previous world. He himself was also excited to experience it for the first time.

Anyway, he was also curious about what kind of rewards he could get. Either way though, this system may be his key to success. While he had been going through life relatively calmly, there wasn't too much excitement. Though, with this system, things might change.

Raito decided to check out what abilities he had first, he was curious to see how the system gauged his current skills.

...

『Abilities』

● Cooking [Rank: Advanced]

● Singing [Rank: Professional]

● Guitar [Rank: Professional]

● Editing [Rank: Professional]

● Drawing [Rank: Master]

● Game Maker [Rank: Beginner]

...

He didn't have many skills to his name right now from the looks of it, but he was happy with what he saw at least. He had learnt how to properly cook from the caretakers as well as his parents back in his old world, so he had a pretty decent cooking rank.

He honestly didn't think that his singing and guitar skills were considered professional, so seeing that the system labelled his current ability for those as professional gave him a sense of satisfaction. He wasn't surprised by the Game Maker talent being beginner, he had never made a game in his life.

His proficiency in editing was pretty surprising honestly, he didn't actually think he was that good. True that he needed to edit a few things with the songs he made and uploaded over the past few years, but to think he had improved it to such a level was pretty crazy in his opinion.

Drawing, now that was the greatest surprise. He knew that he was pretty decent, but to be considered a master? Even he had his own doubts about it. He made his own art for his songs, and they had been praised greatly by his viewers. He didn't expect it to be master-tier though. Not that he was complaining.

● Ability Card [Amount: 1]

● Stamina Modulation Pill [Optional Objective Reward]

...

"A kick-starter, huh?" Raito smiled slightly as he saw the new popup. It seems that to literally give him the incentive to create a game, the system gave him a mission along with potential rewards for completing it. "Not like I wasn't going to make one in the first place."

Also, he did read the last part when it explained the Create Game tab. It was kind of weird to have a trailer of sorts released after a game is released, trailers usually come out a few weeks or so prior to the release of a game. Either way, he might as well get started.

First things first was to think of what kind of game he wanted to create, something simple to start off with probably. He'd leave the more complicated and difficult games to re-create for later on when he gets more experience in game making.

He needed a game that would appeal to a range of different ages as well as potentially being a long-lasting game. There were many games like that back in his old world, particular ones being games like Minecraft, GTA, and others.

He wanted a game that had incredible potential for different possibilities and activities for the players to participate in, something that would provide players with a large range of different things to do. If they get bored of one thing, they can move on to another. Simple as that.

More specifically, as of right now for his first game, he wanted to remake a game that wouldn't appear violent enough to warrant an age restriction but would appeal to people of all ages. There was Minecraft, but he'd probably leave that for another time in the future despite how popular it once was.

He didn't necessarily need to remake a game per say, he could develop one himself through his own ideas or even creating a game adaption of some other source of entertainment like a cartoon or something else. There were honestly infinite possibilities for him right now.

After thinking for a while, after considering what he wanted with potential for versatility, there was one particular game that came to his mind. It was a game that came out even before Minecraft did and was still quite popular to this day. It allowed its players to create their own servers that had their own themes and charms for others to play as well.

That game was none other than Roblox.

While he himself didn't play Roblox anymore, it was a game that he did truly enjoy playing when he did. He remembered all the different kinds of minigames and servers he had joined and how they all had their own charms and unique perks about themselves.

With all the different inside games that could be created, the potential within Roblox was essentially infinite as anything was possible. In his old world, people had created FPS games, RPG games, Comedy games and more within Roblox. People even created adaptations of other games inside of Roblox.

The game had graphics that obviously weren't realistic and were most definitely not gruesome in any way when it comes to violence, it was a game for children after all. Although it mainly attracted the younger audience, there were still a good number of older individuals that played the game.

Roblox was also a free game, so he wasn't entirely sure if the system would end up putting a price on the game for the initial install. But, the players would most likely still need to pay for in-game currency to customise their character and such though. He'd definitely profit from in-game purchases if the players end up playing the game.

"Let's get started then." Raito cracked his neck before tapping onto the Create Game option in the menu of the system. When he did, he was greeted with another prompt. It was apparently asking for a name for the game to be owned under. "A name, huh?"

He didn't want to steal a name of a company from his old world, which was ironic considering he was kind of stealing their games. He needed a name that was simple and memorable, something that stands out but has the charm of being simplistic. He'd create the logo for the thing later, he might even consider making a website for his 'company' if it becomes popular enough.

After a bit of thinking...

『Insert Developer Name: Critical Code』

After entering the name, he soon found his vision become fully white. In almost an instant, he had to blink a few times before he looked around to see himself now standing in a void of white, there was nothing here. Just a pure and empty white void of nothingness.

However, he did notice something rather intriguing. At the bottom of his peripheral vision was what looked to be a GUI of sorts. From what he could tell by the different icons placed on it, there was some kind of build tool, an undo button, a save button, and a bunch of other stuff as well.

But, most of all, the final icon looked to be a manual of sorts.

With curiosity, he focused onto the button he assumed would provide him with information. This was indeed true as after putting his focus on the icon for a quick few seconds, a whole massive screen full of information appeared to him.

From the first few lines, it explained that he could create the game through his imagination alone, but not everything may come out as he imagines. That's apparently why there is a manual building tool option, to fix up any errors and such himself.

The absolutely massive list of information continued on and on, explaining things like how to perform certain actions, how to create his own models and textures, how to publish the game, and much more. It was literally everything you needed to know about making a game, through the system at least.

There was even a part that explained the automatic creation of the promotional video, which he read that he was actually able to edit it however he wished before choosing to publish the video or not when the game is released. That meant he could create his own music for the trailers himself, add his own effects, and voice over it as well.

"This is going to take a while..." Raito frowned slightly as he scrolled down through the information. Though, an excited smile appeared on his face as he clenched his fists. "Well, I guess I better get started. The game ain't making itself!"
