32 Chapter 32

In combat class, Pyrrha was sparring with Team CRDL. She was kicking ass faster than before. Jaune was smiling, Scáthach taught Team RWBY and NPR how to use Shundō. However, from what he can see, they've only learned the basics of it. When Pyrrha uses Shundō, a blur of her is visible. Shundō is a movement technique that makes the user faster than the eye can see. A blur is proof they don't have mastery over it.

Nonetheless, Pyrrha showed everyone why she is a four-time Mistral Tournament champion. It took her no time to kick CRDL's ass. And Cardin had the audacity to call it a lucky shot.

"Alright. I know that's a tough act to follow," Glynda said. "But we have time for one more sparring match. Any volunteers? Miss Belladonna? You've been rather docile for the past few classes. Why don't you…."

"I'll do it," Mercury interrupted. "I've been itching for a little action".

"Mercury, is it?" Glynda said. "Very well. Let's find you an opponent".

"Actually," Mercury said. He then pointed at Pyrrha. "I want to fight her".

"I'm afraid Miss Nikos has just finished a match," Glynda said. "Please pick another".

"Actually, Miss Goodwitch," Pyrrha said. "I don't mind. Jaune used to tell me during training that we don't get to pick who we fight or when we fight. Because out there, we would be attacked anytime, anywhere and whether we are tired or not".

"Are you sure about this, Miss Nikos?" Glynda asked. Pyrrha nodded at her. "Very well then. Mr Black, please make your way to the front".

Mercury and Pyrrha were in the front, facing each other. Mercury was confident of his capability, while Pyrrha was not underestimating her opponent. When Mercury moved towards Pyrrha, she suddenly disappeared from his sight, and he was bashed by her shield in the back of his head.

Pyrrha's Shundō may be imperfect, but it's not a simple technique. From afar, Mercury was able to keep track of Pyrrha's movement. However, in front of her, it was another story. Pyrrha was able to get to his vision's blind spot and use Shundō to get behind Mercury and bash him with her shield without holding back. With her training with Scáthach, the strength of this bash is enough to dent a five-inch thick steel door. Mercury's Aura didn't just shatter. He was knocked out in a single hit, and he may even be concussed.

Everyone was looking at Pyrrha with wide eyes. Earlier, she showed no such strength against CRDL. How did she suddenly get that strong? That was a question that everyone was asking. Then they realised, even against an entire team, Pyrrha was holding back and beating them without a sweat.

"And that's the match," Glynda said. "I suggest Mr Black's teammate to please bring him to the infirmary. That is all for today. And remember, the dance is this weekend, but you all have your first mission on Monday. I will not accept any excuses. Class is dismissed".

Pyrrha's newly acquired strength came from the (Training Room – Legendary). Those who train inside it can break their limiter a lot easier. This is how Jaune is able to acquire the strength to match Scáthach, a being closer to a Divine Spirit rather than a Human.

After classes, Emerald did not bring Mercury to the infirmary. Instead, she brought him inside their dorm room, where she waited for their leader to arrive.

Later in the evening, Cinder finally arrived in their dorm. Mercury was already awake and recovered from his injuries.

"Tell me," Cinder said. "Were you able to gather data on Nikos and the other students?".

"We were," Emerald said. "Except for one. For some reason, the professors aren't bothering with a person known as Jaune Arc. He never participates in any sparring matches".

"Interesting," Cinder said. "Hmm…What about the others? Tell me all about them".

Mercury and Emerald then gave their evaluation to Cinder. They put each student that was a threat to them on a list. Pyrrha, Jaune and Yang are some of the people on the list.

"Have you figured anything out about Nikos' semblance?" Cinder asked. "I heard that you challenged her to a spar today".

"I got nothing," Mercury said. "I was knocked out faster than I could blink. She used some sort of technique that made her move in a blink of an eye".

A few days later, with Jaune, he was walking around Beacon when he saw Weiss asking a guy named Neptune to the dance tomorrow. However, she was unsuccessful. Weiss then sat down in the nearby fountain.

"Hey, Weiss," Jaune called. "Are you okay?".

"Hey, Jaune," Weiss said. "Did you see what happened?".

"I did," Jaune said. "But I think it's his loss".

"Do you really think so?" Weiss asked. "I finally found a guy that I'm interested in, and I get rejected. Am I not good enough for him?".

"Weiss, you're a beautiful and amazing person," Jaune said. "Although you were a bit of a B in the beginning, you got better. Like I said, it's his loss. Besides, there are other people out there far better than him".

"Thanks, Jaune," Weiss said. She then wiped the tear that was about to fall. "And you're right, there are more people better than him. I just have to work hard to find the right person".

"Now, this is the Weiss I know," Jaune said. "Headstrong. Don't ever lose that side of you".

"By the way, Jaune," Weiss said. "Do you have a person in mind to bring to the dance?".

"I do," Jaune said. "However, I don't know if she would agree".

"You plan to ask Pyrrha?" Weiss asked. "If that's the case, then you don't have to worry about her declining you, and she's a great person to have as a date".

"Pyrrha? No, I'm talking about Scáthach," Jaune said. "I've had feelings for her for a long time now. I've had a crush on her since I was fourteen".

"That long?" Weiss said. "I didn't think you were the type of person to be scared to ask someone out".

"I'm not afraid to ask her out," Jaune said. "Scáthach is the type of person that wouldn't go out with someone weaker than her".

"Does she know of your feelings?" Weiss asked. Jaune nodded at her. "Is that the reason you wanted to be a Huntsman, to prove your strength to her?".

"No, I've wanted to be a Huntsman years before I met Scáthach," Jaune said. "I've always wanted to help people. That's the reason I wanted to be a Huntsman".

"Wait a minute," Weiss said. "Are you okay talking about this? I know that Scáthach stays in your shadows".

"Scáthach isn't with me at the moment," Jaune said. "She left somewhere".

Weiss and Jaune continued conversing on their way to the dormitory. Weiss was feeling better and got the rejection out of her mind.

With Yang and Blake. The duo was discussing something about Blake not being able to beat Torchwick at her current state. That's because Blake has been sleep deprived for a week now. When they returned to Remnant, she started obsessing over the White Fang again and was looking for clues to where they were and what they were up to. Right now, Yang just finished talking about a story from her childhood.

"Yang, I'm sorry that happened to you," Blake said. "And I understand what you're telling me. But this is different. I'm not a child, and this isn't just a search for answers. I can't just…."

"I told you earlier, I'm not trying to stop you," Yang said. "Like you, I haven't stopped looking for my mother. To this day, I still want to know what happened to my mother and why she left me.

I love Summer, and she is my mother, but I still want to know about my biological mother.

But I will never let the search control me. We're going to find answers for what we're looking for, Blake. However, if we destroy ourselves in the process, then what good are we?".

"You don't understand!" Blake said. "I'm the only one that can do this!".

"No! You don't understand!" Yang said with her eyes red. "If Torchwick walks through that door, what would you do?".

"I'd fight him!" Blake said. "As I've fought him the last two encounters!".

"You'd lose!" Yang said while shoving Blake back. "You could barely even stand".

"I can stop him!" Blake said. "We've done it before!".

"You can't even stop me," Yang said. "What could you do to someone like Torchwick? I'm not asking you to stop, Blake. Just slow down enough to get proper rest and not neglect the people around you who are willing to be there for you. Just please, get some rest".

"And if you feel like coming out tomorrow," Yang said. With a wink, she continued. "I'll save you a dance.

In the dormitory with Jaune, he and Weiss went their separate way since they were from different dorm rooms. When Jaune entered his dorm room, he was met with Scáthach. Jaune saw this as a perfect opportunity to ask her to the dance.

"Hey, Scáthach," Jaune greeted. "I was wondering if you would like to go to the dance with me?".

"Oh? I didn't think you would ask me," Scáthach said. "I was thinking how long it would take before you asked me to the dance".

"So," Jaune said. "Would you go to the dance with me?".

"I'll agree to that," Scáthach said. "If you promise to show me a good time".

"Certainly!" Jaune said. "Of course, I'll show you a good time".

"Then I accept your invitation," Scáthach said. "But I suggest you save a dance for Haruhime".

"Is she not going to the dance with anyone?" Jaune said. Scáthach shook her head. For some reason, Jaune felt relieved that she didn't invite anyone. "How come?".

"Haruhime knew that the person she wanted to ask to the dance had someone else in mind," Scáthach said. "So, she decided not to ask him out to the dance".

"I see," Jaune said. He didn't know why, but Haruhime's interest in someone peeved him. "I'll do what I can to show her a good time".

After asking Scáthach to the dance, Jaune wanted to head to Vale to buy a suit. Then it hit him. He got over a thousand common clothing from the Gacha. There has to be a suit, right? There, in fact, are a few.
