15 Chapter 14: Difference and Similarity

"How about you? Do you want to spar?"

Ulquiorra looked at Wang Yang. Wang Yang exuded an air of a carefree yet confident person. Wang Yang kept his smile as he waited for Ulquiorra's answer.

Truthfully, Ulquiorra does not see any majorly viable reason to spar with Wang Yang. Ulquiorra was not a battle fanatic. As much as possible, he preferred to avoid combat unless necessary. Still, this didn't mean he would shy away from a challenge that's disguised as a friendly suggestion. Ulquiorra decided he would agree.

"Fine" Ulquiorra said.

"Great! Fellow disciples should spar in order to hone their skills. I like to spar with my junior brothers and sisters in order to see their progress, and to know if I can be of help!" Wang Yang said in a tone befitting of a senior brother. Sadly Ulquiorra didn't respond and merely looked back at him silently.

"*Cough* In any case, make your mo-" Wang Yang spoke, but was cut off as Ulquiorra suddenly disappeared from his view.

"Wha-"

Wang Yang suddenly widened his eyes as he felt something poke his back. He looked behind him to see Ulquiorra with one finger to his lower spine. Ulquiorra was facing Wang Yang's back in a slightly sideways angle, and Ulquiorra didn't use his head to look up to Wang Yang, but only his eyes. Wang Yang could see the indifference in those eyes, and yet, he also felt the sheer disdain.

The other three who were recovering also had their jaws hitting the floor. They could not believe what they had just witnessed. They were waiting for Ulquiorra to be tired out and defeated, but suddenly, Ulquiorra disappeared from his spot, and then reappeared behind Wang Yang.

"How?" Wang Yang said. This was the only word he could squeeze out. This was also the question in the heads of the three watching.

"I simply stepped forward once." Ulquiorra replied blankly.

"Stepped forward once?" Wang Yang slowly said each word.

"Indeed." Replied Ulquiorra.

Wang Yang then looked up to the late afternoon sky before closing his eyes. He then made a deep breath and exhaled. When he opened his eyes, he had this look of determination.

"Let's continue the spar. This time I'm challenging you to an actual fight. Don't hold back, Ulquiorra." Wang Yang said as he faced Ulquiorra.

Ulquiorra looked at Wang Yang's eyes. He saw a similar look in him as he remembered a certain orange haired fool. Sure, the intensity between the two individuals were vastly different. Wang Yang had this spark in his eyes to fight, but the one he remembered had a blazing fire that signified his intense determination to win and survive no matter what. Still, Ulquiorra had his interest slightly piqued by Wang Yang.

"One more time? Did you not see the vast difference between the two of us?" Ulquiorra asked.

"I didn't see anything."Wang Yang said with a triumphant smile.

"In fact, it's because of this that we should continue!" He continued.

Ulquiorra stared at Wang Yang. Unlike his appearance, Ulquiorra could feel that Wang Yang had a certain degree of stupidity. Still, he would not complain.

"Fine then." Ulquiorra said before using sonido again to go back to his former spot.

"Huh?" Wang Yang said before looking back. He then scratched the back of his head. Gone was his carefree look What replaced it was a look of focus.

"Would it be okay if I made the first move?" Wang Yang said to which Ulquiorra replied only with a single word.

"Come"

Wang Yang then jumped forward. He was currently a 9th stage Foundation Establishment realm cultivator. He was also not one of your normal Foundation cultivators. He possessed power that surpassed cultivators in a similar realm. It was to the point that he could actually beat a normal 1st stage Golden core cultivator. This point was something he confirmed while on a mission as he fought a rogue 1st stage Golden core cultivator, and ended up winning. Still, he didn't tell this to the sect. In fact, not even Nian Zhen knows about it.

Wang Yang didn't underestimate Ulquiorra after the previous exchange. He used his all in moving and striking. He threw at Ulquiorra various types of attacks like punches, kicks, sweeps, palm strikes, and more. Sadly, Ulquiorra dodged everything with ease and minimal movement. Wang Yang was extremely bewildered, but didn't show it.

"Slow." Ulquiorra remarked.

Wang Yang's eyebrowed furrowed. He decided it's over trying to use normal attacks. It's time to use martial techniques.

He coated his body with a silver translucent qi. As a Foundation Establishment cultivator, one can go from merely strengthening their body with qi to coating their body with it along with the inital strengthening. He then focused more qi into his hands as he made them into two knife hands.

"Crescent Moon Illusory Slash!"

Wang Yang made a slashing motion with his hands. Ulquiorra could feel the qi in that strike. It was strong enough that it could probably deal a bit of damage to a Gillian's toe.

Ulquiorra could catch the strike without any effort, but decided against. He wanted to try using Qi. He strengthened his hand with qi, and then made a similar slashing motion. The two knife hands collided. Ulquiorra strengthened his body with hierro a very tiny bit to even the odds, but still, the power of his strike was merely using qi and his physical strength. Unfortunately for Wang Yang, that was more than enough to neutralize his strike. Wang Yang felt his hand get knocked back along with him. He took 5 steps backward before stabilizing himself. He looked at Ulquiorra with even more determination in his yes. Ulquiorra stared back at Wang Yang before speaking out.

"I see. Even when knowing the difference between the two of us, you still persist."
