13 Chapter 12: Defusing The Situation

"I do not see why I wouldn't dare."

Lu Zheng's eyes opened wide, and his mouth gaped in shock and anger. His face then contorted in an ugly manner. His hold on Lu Fan tightened as he tried his best to suppress his anger.

"You do not see??!!You do not find the reason to not dare?!! I am Lu Zheng! One of the elders of the famous Azure Peacock Sect! We are the second most prestigious sect in Rising Dawn city second only to the Grand Flow Sect, and yet you don't see a reason why you wouldn't dare? Are you not afraid?" Lu Zheng screamed in anger. He did not expect the response that would come from Ulquiorra.

"Fear?" Ulquiorra blankly said, but it had a hint of a condescending tone in it.

He faintly released a bit of his spiritual pressure . It was a very small amount compared to his overall in his base form, and yet, it caused Lu Zheng to suddenly shut his mouth. Nian Zhen also felt the pressure, and was once again surprised. The female twin, Lu Lin, was further away, but still felt the pressure as she felt suffocated.

Lu Fan fared the worst as he still hasn't mentally recovered from the pain of having his arm broken. He ended up being rendered unconscious by the sudden pressure. Ulquiorra continued speaking.

"Why should I fear you? Why should I fear your sect?" Ulquiorra said as he looked at Lu Zheng straight in the eye.

"My eyes do not see the reason. If my eyes do not perceive it, then it does not exist." Ulquiorra slowly walked towards Lu Zheng.

Lu Zheng gulped. He suddenly felt fear towards a mere 1st stage Qi Condensation cultivator. How was this possible? Lu Zheng did not believe it.

He let out his qi as a 3rd stage Golden Core cultivator. He forcibly snapped himself out of his previous fear, and then jumped backwards with Lu Fan in his arms. Nian Zhen snapped out of her daze, and immediately tried to act to defuse the situation. She and Lu Zheng weren't on friendly terms, but it didn't mean that she wished for her newest disciple to fight a damned elder.

"Ulquiorra, maybe we should stop now." She said, and Ulquiorra pondered before nodding and reeling in his pressure. The others felt as if a heavy burden were off their shoulders.

"Lu Zheng, it was not Ulquiorra's fault that your disciple's arm got broken. Be glad that it only ended there! If Ulquiorra was any weaker than Lu Fan, I doubt Lu Fan would have stopped with a mere broken arm. Heck, Ulquiorra would've ended up bedridden like what you did to Zhifeng two years ago! Right now, it's best for all of us to withraw." Nian Zhen said to Lu Zheng.

Lu Zheng grit his teeth, but he didn't retort. He glared at Ulquiorra. He swore an oath to himself that he would get his revenge.

'Just you wait, you anemic bastard! I'll get my revenge! Same with you, Nian Zhen! I'll get my revenge during the Rising Dragon's competition!'

"Let's go!" Lu Zheng brought Lu Lin, who was still somewhat breathing heavily due to the former pressure, and Lu Fan away.

Nian Zhen sighed. She then looked back at Ulquiorra. In less than one day, he went from a homeless kid without any cultivation to someone in the first stage of Qi condensation. The added bonus was that he had even broken the arm of another sect's direct disciple and offended the elder responsible for him.

It was truly an eventful day, and it felt as if she should tell Wang Yang that the next kid he picks up doesn't have to be talented. Maybe a talented gardener or a musician to calm her nerves with plants or music would do. She then brought Ulquiorra to go back to the sect. She wasn't planning on asking any questions yet especially when they're outside.

-------------------

In the Azure Peacock sect, Lu Zheng threw a table to the ground in his quarters. He was absolutely furious. He had experienced such shame under the hands of a mere kid!

"DAMN IT ALL! WAIT UNTIL I GET MY HANDS ON YOUR NECK, ULQUIORRA! I'LL WRING YOUR BLOOD UNTIL THERE'S NOTHING LEFT!"

Just then, a knock resounded.

"Master, the sect master is looking for you." Lu Lin's voice rang out.

Lu Zheng calmed himself down, and fixed himself. Angry as he may be, he should still keep the elegance and posture of an Azure Peacock elder. He then went out of his room to head to the meeting hall.

After arriving there, all the other elders were standing in silence. Lu Zheng raised his eyebrown. He felt as if something serious would happen.

"You're here, Elder Zheng." An old man with long white hair adorned a headpiece that resembled a male peacock's tail feathers spoke up. He wore an azure robe with golden linings.

"Elder Zheng, greets Partiarch Hong!" Lu Zheng bowed.

"At ease, I called this meeting in order to discuss a very important matter thay would decide the fate of our Azure Peacock sect." Patriarch Hong said.

"Would the matter be in relation to 'that' plan, Patriarch?" An elder said.

Patrairch Hong nodded which caused all elders to widen their eyes. This was what they were waiting for. They've been planning this for years. They've gotten help from both within and outside the city. If this plan succeeds, they would all end up soaring into new heights.

"That guild has agreed to help us. They will send elders as spectators to the Rising Dragon competition, but in truth, they will help us supress the other sects. We've poured in a lot of resources for this plan to commence, but I believe it will all be worth it." Patriarch Hong said.

The elders all had their expressions brighten up. Even the angry Lu Zheng temporarily forgot his anger, and smiled. One by one, the elders of the sect had their voices chanting in the meeting hall.

"The Azure Peacock will rise!"

"The Azure Peacock will prosper!"

"The Azure Peacock will achieve victory!"

The elders showed zeal that was unlike other sect's elders. Lu Zheng also participated in the chanting. Patriarch Hong smiled in his seat as he too felt that the time has come.

'Soon. Everything will change'
