6 Being Found

Fu Hua could not sleep a wink that night. That uncle's words still gave her the shudders. "You're father and I have agreed to let our kids get married a long time ago. Of course I won't force you but consider meeting him before saying no."

She shook her head. This was unreal. Who in their right mind would come over and randomly say that. Fu Hua would never have believed it if she didn't confirm it over the phone with her father. He sounded quite happy when he heard about his old buddy coming over. Her father would have rushed over if it wasn't for his wife forcing him to stay. They had already booked a full month at Switzerland, she was not about to have her husband bail out on her for a buddy.

By 9pm, Fu Hua was already asleep.

On the other side of town was the lively city. Inside a semi-private pool bar were a bunch of handsome men playing billiard. The scent of cigars and flirty chatter filled the dim room. The man holding the cue stick leaned forward, ready to make a move when another guy snatched the ball on the table. It was none other than Meng Feng. The years had treated him good. Just like Dong Hai, he had grown much more masculine and charming. He still had his cute boyish look mixed with his now masculine side.

Dong Hai set the cue stick down. "Did you find out?"

Meng Feng frowned. He had just entered the bar. This annoying friend didn't even offer him a drink. Dong Hai looked up at him impatiently.

"I didn't find anything on her." Meng Feng got a deathly glare as a reply. "It's not my fault. You know I have social connections. I've asked everyone but no one knows the beauty." Meng Feng quickly defended himself.

Dong Hai didn't say anything. He grabbed his leather jacket from the bar stool and whipped it on top of his shoulder coolly. "How hard can it be to find her? Watch and learn!" he smugly said before leaving.

The women in the room were slightly disappointed. They made an effort to come and talk to Dong Hai but he left just like that after exchanging a few words with Meng Feng. They could only look at Meng Feng annoyingly. It was all because of him!

Around 11pm, Fu Hua's phone was ringing like crazy. She covered her face with her pillow, wishing the ringing would stop.

"Aish!" She huffed before rolling her body over to the reading desk. "Hello?" in a half-awakened voice.

"Fu Hua…hehehe." *hiccup*

All Fu Hua could hear from the other side of the phone was mumbling and hiccups. "Bao Mei? Are you drunk? Where are you?" She felt this was going to be a headache already.

After a few minutes of talking to Bao Mei, Fu Hua roughly scratched her head from frustration. What was Bao Mei doing drinking by herself? Why would she be depressed over that stupid Yang Ye.

Fu Hua didn't take in much consideration for her outfit. When she left her house, she was in black sweats and a large oversized long shirt and a wool cardigan.

***

Not more than 30 minutes had passed before Fu Hua arrived at the Vermillion Bar. It was a popular place for young people to get together or for singles to hook up with one another. When Fu Hua entered, many eyes were already on her. Not even two minutes after she arrived, a man was already hitting on her. One annoyed look from her sent the man running away. Thankfully he got the message, or else he would have gotten a bag full of attitude from her. She was not having it. Especially since she was losing sleep.

Fu Hua looked around for Bao Mei.

She got stopped again. "I found you faster than expected." She looked up. It had to be him. She had just gotten over him yet he appeared in front of her again. What kind of cruel joke was this? Was she on some kind of hidden camera? And what was with his, "found you?" What did that mean? Did he recognize her as that ugly girl from back then? No Way!

She titled her chin down and pretended to not hear him. Her body quickly made a sharp turn. Dong Hai caught up to her and placed his hand to stop her anxiously. "Miss, did you not here me? I was looking for you."

"You've got the wrong person." still not looking at him, she tried to catch him off guard.

"I never forget a beautiful face. You were the girl at Club Nanjing the other day. You don't remember me? I was the one who saved you." he reminded her. He was disappointed. He was saving a beauty in troubled times yet she didn't even remember him. He was this handsome yet she didn't even look at him. Which woman was blind enough to overlook him?

"I don't remember. Maybe you've got the wrong person." Fu Hua finally looked up at him. She had decided, if he did really recognize her, what did it matter. She didn't care what he had to say. She was not that same weak and gullible girl.

"It's okay if you don't remember but…can I buy you a drink?"

Fu Hua almost laughed out loud. He was trying to buy her a drink?

"I don't want to drink with you." She rudely said before walking off. She didn't get far before he caught her by the wrist.

"Little beauty, do you know who I am? You would be shocked if you found out. I'll only ask one more time, can I buy you a drink?" Dong Hai once again arrogantly asked. Thinking that Fu Hua was an easy girl, he didn't think much of her other than a pretty face. Someone he would take on a few dates and dump.

Fu Hua flung her hand free. "Oh? I don't know how rich you are and I don't care. I already have a boyfriend and he is super rich." She wanted to slap herself. Why did she say that. Why was she trying to show him up.

"Oh? More rich than me? Who is richer than I?"

"Yes! My boyfriend is the future heir of TechStar Corporations. He's a hundred times richer and more handsome than you." Fu Hua stopped there. She didn't even know the name of the heir yet she was heavily spouting nonsense. She could only pray he didn't ask.

Dong Hai almost spit out blood when he heard that. Could her lie be any bigger? "I know the heir of TechStar personally. How come I have never heard of you before?" he questioned.

"How should I know? I haven't heard about you from him either. Looks like were on the same boat." She retorted.

Her eyes expanded when his body closed in on her. She felt her heart skip a beat when his lips lightly touched her ear. Before she knew it, the necklace she was wearing was snatched. He smirked. So this girl did know how to feel surprised.

Dong Hai stepped away.

"Give it back." When Fu Hua came back to her senses, she stretched her hand out to grab it. She was a step too slow. He had already shoved it into his jacket pocket.

"I'll give it back to you in a few days. I'm sure your boyfriend has already invited you to his birthday event this weekend at the Plains Hotel. I'll see you then." Li Dong Hai smiled at her teasingly before walking away. Fu Hua was left there feeling aggravated. "Li Dong Hai you ass…" she muttered. How could she defeat such a scheming and vicious person like Li Dong Hai.
