7 Agreeing to Meet Him

In the corner of the bar sat a sulking Bao Mei. Her short hair was curled into a cute bob which made her look younger than her age. She was wearing clothes much bolder than usual. In that corner, she could be seen happily talking to the cute bartender in front of her. He was in a classy suit vest.

The two were smiling and hitting it off quite well before Fu Hua interrupted. She snatched the liquor from Bao Mei's hand and placed it far away. "Come on, I'm taking you home." Fu Hua grabbed onto her hand about to drag her away but Bao Mei was not complying. She complained.

"Fu Hua, I still want to drink. Come drink with me. Cute bartender," she pointed at the bartender. "Give us two shots."

"Don't" Fu Hua also pointed her finger at him. When choosing who to listen to, he chose the fierce Fu Hua over the adorably drunk Bao Mei. To be fair, anyone in his situation would have chosen the same.

After dropping off Bao Mei at her apartment, Fu Hua went back home. She lay in her bed with the covers pulled up to her neck. She counted over 200 sheeps yet couldn't fall asleep. It was all thanks to that stupid Li Dong Hai. Why did he have to steal her necklace? So hateful~

Fu Hua felt that the moment she fell asleep, she was already up. What kind of life was this? Dark circles had already formed under her eyes. It must have been a mix of pent of frustration, anger and stress.

But she had no time to be worrying about that. There was much more important matters to worry about.

Like usual she went to work. This time she wasn't taking her anger out on her coworkers like last time. Instead she was being absent minded. Very unlike herself. All she could think about was whether she should go or not.

During lunch break Fu Hua was pouring herself coffee. Ming Ming happened to enter the break room at the same time. Seeing how quiet and inattentive Fu Hua was, she needed satisfy her curiosity. "Sister Fu Hua."

Fu Hua jumped from the sudden whisper.

"What's wrong?" Ming Ming asked.

"Nothing." Fu Hua put the coffee pot down. Ming Ming scooted closer to her. She watched as Fu Hua suspiciously avoided her gaze.

"Is it a boy?" Ming Ming had to know. She was the type of person who was kind but nosy.

Fu Hua arched her brow. How did this girl know? Was it written all over her face? Ming Ming was just taking a guess but seeing how shocked Fu Hua looked, she knew she hit the jackpot. Fu Hua in love? She never thought this day would come.

Fu Hua kept her mouth quiet all day but Ming Ming kept giving her sad puppy eyes. Finally Fu Hua gave in. She really needed to tell someone anyways.

An hour before work was over; Ming Ming eagerly sat next to Fu Hua's desk after getting the ok.

"This uncle randomly asked me to go on a blind date with his son. I rejected it but now I'm debating if I should call that uncle back. But I feel embarrassed." Fu Hua whispered.

"Sister Fu Hua, there is nothing to be embarrassed about when it comes to love. Love makes you crazy. Who knows, he might be the one. You don't want to miss your chance. Go on a blind date with him." Ming Ming urged.

"But I'm too embarrassed to ask." Fu Hua admitted once again. These past few years, it was always men asking her out. She had forgotten just how scary it was to ask someone out. Even though she wasn't directly asking the man on a date, to ask through his father was just as bad. Did she look too easy? But it wasn't like she was doing it because she liked him. It was for a good cause. Her necklace!

While the two of them were having a "private" talk, little did they know that the rest of the accountant team was trying very hard to listen in on the conversation. By the end of the day, the whole team had already found out. They were all acting like little kids filled with excitement.

Fu Hua was sitting in her house with the phone in hand. She had been staring at the phone number in front of her for the longest time. "To call or not to call." She asked herself again and again. She had been this way ever since she came home from work. An hour ago.

*Ring* *Ring*

It was as if the heavens were on her side. That very same number was calling her. "Hello?" she anxiously picked up.

Five minutes later and she couldn't believe she was going to the Plains Hotel in a few days. She felt bad for lying to the Uncle though. She had already set a plan in mind. She would find Li Dong Hai and get the necklace and disappear before even meeting the heir. This plan was perfect. All she needed to do was wait for the day to come.
