83 Unexpected savior

An arrow pierced the closest bandit's skull a moment before his sword could hit Bai Yue and the strength of the hit caused him to stumble back. He didn't die immediately, his free hand reaching for the tip of the arrow protruding out of his eye socket. Bai Yue hit his neck with her hairpin and kicked him away. She then spun around and swung her foot at the flat of the other sword coming her way. Another arrow flew straight to the man's chest.

Bai Yue turned back to see who saved her but the heavy rain limited her visual field. Around her, cries and shouts filled her ears, pounding at her eardrums and invading her every senses. The smell of blood was strong and overwhelming as she dodged another attack and grabbed a man's forearm. She crushed it, stole his swords, and slashed his neck.

The red color was everywhere. Even the heavy rain couldn't wash it away.
