Bai Yue didn't bother to hide her skepticism, which in turn made Ji Mo Yuan smile without restraint. He shook his head and looked down at her fondly.

"I'm serious. I know how to handle the Emperor."

"If you did, he wouldn't have deposed you on our past life," she pointed out ruthlessly without missing a beat.

Ji Mo Yuan went to sit on the rail next to her and responded calmly, as if he was talking about a stranger, "In our past life, I was foolish and arrogant.
