'It's the Emperor who needs them.' The shocking sentence had the same effect as an explosion to Ji Mo Yuan. It was all he could hear as he stood watching the two women talk. Perhaps the most shocking fact was how true they rang in his mind. Without servants, the imperial princes and the Emperor were barely able to get dressed in the morning, let alone cook their own food. The same could be said for the princesses and the Empress. And the noble families. 

However, without princes and princesses to serve, servants would still be able to find another place to work at.

Ji Mo Yuan glanced at his blemish hands, suddenly feeling like he was no better than an ant. Or perhaps even worse than an ant. At least an ant had its purpose and worked while he... didn't.
