5 Chapter 5 Cultivation World

"So..... putting it simply, I have the ability to recreate any sort of Mystery, excluding Mysteries that exceed True Magic, or True Magic itself, provided that I have the Saint Quartz..... Is there anything that you didn't understand?"

Rin's face had paled several degrees whiter than what it normally should be. Just hearing the words come out of my mouth seemed to change her facial expressions from shocked, to fearful, to horrified and finally to a point where she literally couldn't speak.

I was sure many other Mages would go weak at the knees after being told that I could recreate the Mysteries that their Families, or even other Families spend hundreds of years accumulating and devoutly researching.

Even something like the Einzbern's Homunculus Creation Methods were able to be exchanged through the System. Creating my own Sella or Leysritt, or even special Homunculus at the same quality as Sieg and Justeaze was not impossible

I could purchase the Mystery behind the Barthomeloi Family "Blue Blood: Noble Magic Circuits".

Or even the Mystery that appeared as a unified genetic trait that allowed the McRemitz Family to use the Noble Phantasm "Fragarach".

Things got even crazier when I told her that it was possible to purchase Concepts, outside of items that possess Concepts themselves.

Like I said before, purchasing the Concept Of Death might make me immune to death, or capable of imbuing the Concept onto others. Rin herself didn't know what would happen if I were to purchase such a thing, which is also when she went slightly catatonic.....

"Rin?..... Rin? Are you alright there Rin? You kind of blanked out there for a minute.....".

The girl in question gulped slightly before taking a couple steps away from me. Even if she knew that I couldn't use these abilities, the definitely possibility of me being able to use them in the future was always there.

Unless of course-.

"How difficult is it for you to obtain Saint Quartz!? Such a resource should be known by all Mages if it possesses the ability to summon "Mysteries" on the same level as "Heroic Spirits" and "Phantasmal Beasts"!".

I shrugged.

"Pretty difficult. I mean, it is not hard to obtain Saint Quartz, however accumulating such an amount would probably take several dozen years. That being said, I still don't know exactly how I am to earn Saint Quartz in this world.....".

Rin let out a sigh of relief, and colour slowly started returning to her face.

"I see. I suppose it is probably difficult for you as well since you aren't from this world either. Perhaps Saint Quartz is more readily available in this world? Do you know much about this world?".

I shook my head in denial.

"I've been here for about an hour, give or take ten minutes. I saw two young men fighting near the lake, although since we haven't heard anything, I assumed that they left. From what I could tell, the pair seemed much stronger than the average human. They used some sort of martial arts, or techniques to augment their strength and speed. Probably less than a Reinforcement, but still they were probably younger than you or I".

Rin nodded.

"I see..... That isn't too surprising considering that the mana in this world is several dozen times more dense than my own. I wouldn't be surprised if this world is still in the Age Of Gods, or even in a state were the Age Of Gods is slowly depreciating. Although, I don't feel as though my Magecraft has grown more potent, or even older or anything.....".

"Perhaps this world is a Lostbelt? One where Human History has diverged from the original timeline, and a new world order has taken its place?".

"That is possible.....".

Rin and I both placed hands underneath our chins as we each showed thoughtful expressions.

Figuring out what type of world we were in took top priority. If we could determine what type of Magecraft, or what type of Pantheon possessed the most influence over the world, we could determine what type of Lostbelt we were in.

In the event that we came across a Magical Beast, then hopefully we would be able to outrun it before it tried to eat us.....

Taking the Runestones out of her pocket, Rin let out a small sigh before placing one of them in the palm of her hand, muttering some foreign sounding words before dropping it on the ground.

"..... Kardinal die Richtung..... Fließen die Leistung.....".

The moment the small Runestone came into contact with the Earth below, it completely sunk into the ground as if it where water. The light that came off the Runestone, slowly moved in an direction towards the lake, eventually going off into the distance.

I turned to her with an questioning expression.

"That was a simple spell. It was used to determine the closest Leyline in the area. If this world is a supernatural one, you can guarantee there will be people of supernatural origin gathering around the Leyline".

I nodded.

"If we're lucky well come across a Town with a Second Owner or something. There we can figure out were we are and also figure out "when" we are. If we come across something other than Town then....".

"Then we'll either have to fight, or run. I don't plan on dying in this world, so you better figure out how to use those Black Keys before then".

The small handles fit quite well in the palm of my hand. Remembering that a certain fake priest was able to utilise three or four with just the gaps between his fingers caused me to let out a sigh in admiration.

..... Even if he was a sadistic bastard, he was a skilled bastard at the very least.

So long as the handles themselves didn't break, I could remake the blades as many times as needed, provided that I pushed magical energy into them.

Even if for now I could only use one in each hand, the length and durability behind each Black Key was completely under my control..... or, getting under control at least.

Considering that Rin was the one who knew where the Runestone had gone, she was the one leading the pair of us, and the one standing beside me. According to her, if I was in the rear, she wouldn't feel safe, and if I was in the lead, than I would probably get the both of us lost or something.

So, the tsundere opted to stand directly beside me, less than a foot away from me.

..... Not that I was complaining or anything.

"Hey", she said.

I perked up for a moment and moved my gaze from the Black Keys in my hand, and turned towards Rin with a look of confusion on my face. She looked slightly unsettled considering that she was rubbing her hands together in a way to distract herself from something.

She tried to turn and face me, but turned red in the face for a second before moving her gaze away from my own.

"Hmm? What is it Rin?".

The girl in question turned red in the face at the mention of her name.

Ah? Now that you mention it, I never did give my own-.

"It's Rentaro. Jinsei Rentaro. Just call me Ren considering that is easier to say".

Rin showed a small smile before nodding and calling out my name.

"Ren.... That is pretty similar to my own name, when you think about it".

I nodded.

"Yeah, although Ren is just short for Rentaro, is quite coincidental how similar our names are".

I smiled.

"One would almost think it fate or something that we both met?".

Rin rolled her eyes at the blatant flirting, but didn't seem to get angered or upset by it like she did before.

.... Perhaps it would be more important to develop our relationship some more before moving onto comments about her physical characteristics.

Yes, that would see to be the best option for the time-.

"Gu Long! Age: 15! Affinity: Wood! Rank: 3..... Pass!".

A loud, booming voice echoed throughout the forest, originating from a clearing just a hundred metres or so in the distance that Rin and I were heading in.

The voice itself seemed to be quite old, or at least sounded as though it was coming from an old man. From what both Rin and I could tell, there must've been a over a thousand people in the clearing just head, if the noise and chatter were anything to go by.

"Rank 3 Wood Affinity? Not bad, the Heavenly Spring Sect is one that centres itself around Wood Attributed Techniques, so this Gu Long might go far".

"Yeah, he might, but its still nothing in comparison to the two Rank 5 Affinities that appeared this year".

"The Smoke Valley City Lord's Daughter who possesses a special Rank 5 Smoke Affinity and the Yang Family's Eldest Daughter whom also possesses a special Rank 5 Flower Affinity".

"Yeah! Especially Yang Hua! Possessing both a Flower Affinity and joining the Heavenly Spring Sect!? Her future is practically limitless!".

"Don't count Shi Ling out of the race just yet! As the Daughter of a City Lord she is probably been given precious medicines and resources since birth! Even if her Affinity doesn't match that of the Heavenly Spring Sect, she might not have any less potential than Yang Hua".

There were numerous carriages and middle-aged men and women standing at the sides, while a huge line, extending over several hundred metres could be seen in the middle. The lines consisted of just teens, or young children, all of whom had hopeful expressions written all over their faces.

I could see Rin looking around with a curious expression on her face, while I myself just slapped my forehead, letting out a huge sigh at the same time.

"What's wrong Ren? We found people, and from the looks of things, we found the source of the Leyline".

She muttered the second half of that sentence.

I shook my head, trying to tell her I was stressing over something different.

"It's not that it's just that this world, this setting, I know exactly what type of World we've found ourselves in".

Rin perked up at these words. If he had figured out what type of World they were in, surely that would be something to celebrate, right?

I shook my head again.

"This is a Cultivation World, Rin. In comparison to the hidden Moonlit World that you're very much familiar with, this one is far, far more annoying.....".

I sighed once more.

All this time I had thought that this was some sort of fantasy isekai, but in fact, its just been a wuxia isekai all along!
