49 A cautious hero, Jason!

[T/N: a note from original Author-> since infodumps are boring, I used this method to tell Jason's current status.]

*Narration*

Mount Pelion is in the Arcadia region of the southeastern part of Thessaly in northern Greece, forming a peninsula between the Pagasetic Gulf and the Aegean Sea

It is the gathering place of Centaurs.

And the mentor of many Greek heroes, the Centaur Sage, Chiron also lives here.

It is said that he is almost unparalleled in the skills and knowledge of music, calligraphy, painting, archery, swords, spears, pankration, medicine, prophecy, and many other things in the world.

And all his students, even if they have learned only one of his skills, can leave their glorious name in the world, they can become and have become great heroes!

But, among his students, there is a youngster dressed in snow-white clothes.

And even among the many outstanding students taught by Chiron, this youngster seems to be a special and outstanding one.

This youngster has short golden hair and bluish-emerald eyes, even his appearance is said to be not inferior to that of the great God of Light, God Apollo.

And his name is Jason!

Jason, who has been silent for three years.

Three years is only a little more than a flash for most Gods, who have nearly infinitely long life and have lived for a long time.

But three years is more than enough for a growing boy to grow into a noticeable, valiant, and handsome man in this long period of time.

Especially for Jason, whose life, although has been relatively monotonous for the last three years, he is well aware that he has attracted the attention of many gods, and not all are kind attention, and also knows that he is destined to communicate with Gods throughout his life, and even possibly walk on an extraordinary path.

Today, three years later, Jason is finally about to set off on his journey, again.

His path is doomed to be bumpy.

Along the way, he might even fail to escape his own destiny, then embark on a journey to find the Golden Fleece.

He may eventually marry the beautiful princess Medea of Colchis, possibly due to Gods forcing him or on his own, but even then, following his destiny, he might die alone on the glorious ship Argo.

However, he might also walk out of the path of his own destiny and embark on a path, the miracle, that one of his teachers, Hecate, has seen in him.

Possibly, because of exhaustion, he might abandon everything he had worked hard for and die alone.

Possibly, because of his brilliance, he might be favored by countless gods and became the favorite of Gods.

Possibly, because he could not bear being toyed with by the Gods, he might eventually find a way to kill Gods and become a Godslayer addicted to killing Gods.

Or, possibly, because of something, he might also walk out of these new paths of 'destiny', seen as 'miracles', and open up a new path that even Gods have not observed.

But no matter what, one thing can be clearly concluded, that is, his life is destined to attract the attention of God.

On his way, many Gods are destined to always be by his side!

******

Three years later.

On a sunny afternoon.

In the dense forest, sixteen-year-old Jason is accompanying a young man, also a student of Chiron, to collect herbs from the medicinal field Jason has created three years ago after he began learning again from Chiron.

At this moment, Jason suddenly heard something and showed a bit of helplessness on his face.

"Asclepius, have you collected all the herbs you need?"

"Yes." After replying lightly, the white-haired and green-eyed Asclepius glanced at Jason on the lookout not far away, then frowned slightly and asked: "Is anyone coming?"

"After all, my medicinal field is quite precious... Although I don't really care about it, many people seem to believe that they own this."

Jason smiled at Asclepius, then took out a golden wheatear from the silver bag that is tied to his waist and was given to him by Athena.

After aiming the wheatear at the remaining parts of herbs collected by Asclepius, he shook it gently, and faint golden particles fell off from the wheatear, which instantly revived all the harvested herbs.

And due to purposefully using a limited amount of golden particles from the golden wheatear, these herbs will take around a week to be ready for harvest again.

"Then Asclepius, I will deal with them first."

Asclepius nodded lightly, then looked at Jason in white clothes, taking out the Magic Staff, which he knows is given to Jason by Goddess of Paths Hecate, from the silver bag.

As a matter of fact, this Staff wasn't exactly given to Jason, but Jason had to request and beg Hecate without stopping for several days.

Therefore, Hecate had no choice but to give him this Magic Staff, just so that Jason will stop bothering her.

However, after all, the Magic Staff is something she has decided to bestow only to the students who have graduated from her studies, so this Magic Staff is only a substitute made by her.

And the main reason why Jason has continuously requested this thing, and he didn't even mind begging or acting cute, was to let Hecate engrave a few spells of his choice on this staff.

One of those spells is the stealth magic that Hecate has created by copying the principles of the Invisibility Helmet of Hades, that Jason has obtained again for a while by again requesting and pleading cutely to Persephone.

And, since this spell is created and engraved personally by Hecate with the intent of copying the effect of the Invisibility Helmet of Hades, the King of Underworld; therefore, although this spell did not reach the point where it can hide someone even from the God-King Zeus, it is still powerful enough to hide its user from the sight of ordinary gods.

So, at this moment, Jason, who has just taken out his Magic Staff, immediately used this spell, which even hid his aura, then left.

Before long, Asclepius saw a flash of white light from a distance in the forest, then several yellings along the line of 'Ah, my eyes!' reached his ears.

Using the strengthening magic on the Magic Staff, Jason, who has knocked down all the centaur robbers targeting them near this medicinal field in a single hit, dragged them out.

"...Well, Jason."

Although this is not the first time Asclepius has seen a scene like this, each time he still feels absurd in his heart.

Even if Asclepius has a faint attitude toward most things, at this moment, looking at Jason, who has removed the stealth magic, he still feels speechless, so he said helplessly: "Is this necessary... Your body and soul are washed and tempered by the water of Styx and unquenchable flames of Underworld."

"Your body is invulnerable to swords, arrows, and spears, and you are also wearing the clothes given by Goddess Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom, which can emit the unquenchable flames."

"And your combat skill, after three years of practice, are strong enough to compete against any of the Teacher Chiron's students."

[T/N: For those who don't know, Asclepius hates Apollo even in Mythology which is explained in the next few chapters.]

"And the most important thing is that it is still daytime. You just need to pray to that guy Apollo, and the golden sword you are carrying will turn into golden light to kill all enemies for you."

"Do you really have to..."

But even before Asclepius finished speaking, he saw Jason, who has dragged the centaur robbers here, taking out a potion bottle from the silver bag, and Asclepius knows that this potion in a way is the diluted form of unquenchable flames.

Then, Asclepius saw, Jason sprinkling the diluted unquenchable flame potion, drop by drop, on the stunned centaur robber.

Immediately, unquenchable flame cleanly burned their bodies in moments, leaving behind not even ashes.

As a matter of fact, Jason has deliberately researched this potion with Medea, to dilute the effect of the unquenchable flame, so that it only has the effect of destroying bodies, and will not burn the soul.

"Huh? Asclepius, what were you just saying?"

After doing all this, Jason got out of his concentrated state and looked at Asklepios in puzzlement.

"...It's nothing." The corner of Asclepius's mouth twitched slightly, and ultimately, he had to turn his head away before replying lightly.

'Should I report this picture to the teacher?... The teacher seems to have told us, more than once, to guide Jason and make him appear more like a hero.'

'But... Forget it, let's pretend I didn't see this.'

'Anyway, this is not the first time, I don't want to waste my time.'
