Chapter 15 Crimson Forest

After taking breakfast at the castle dining room, Kayen decided to cool himself by taking a stroll at Crimson Forest just 20 kilometers away from the castle. Of course with his big and powerful pair of wing will bring him there in no time. But still, it would consume too much stamina if he didn't control his wings' magic.

He set his foot on a training field to release his wings so the wing's magic impact wouldn't effect the surrounding. If he released it near someone who has a low magic attribute will absolutely flown away by his wing's magic force.

Without further a due, Kayen flapped his enormous wing and strong wind was created by it. After his body floated, with a speed of light, he flew towards the old forest, the Crimson Forest. This forest is quite strange and unique as the forest is not affected by season changes. The fairy land was currently on spring season but somehow the forest was in fall season. Not only by that, the forest changes season quite frequently and random. Just in a week, the forest had already changed into winter season, then summer, winter again and today its currently autumn.

For the fairies who lived there assumed that this forest is a blessing for them. The forest also holds the powerful and the oldest cherry tree in the middle of Crimson forest. Tales to be told that the trees can heal eternal injuries and many did said that the tree was guarded by a divine guardian because the first Child of Light's body was buried along with a cherry sapling by the crown prince after the curse laid upon them, the fairy races. The cherry grew and apparently created a new forest named by the crown prince as Crimson Forest the cherry tree petals resembled the Child of Light's crimson hair.

That forest also Kayen's favorite spot to cool his head. Forest holds many beautiful scenery and many fairy tend the flowers to keep their beloved Child of Light's forest in a good shape. Normally they wouldn't allow anyone to enters the forest except the Dajyun's royal lineage. Because the Dajyun's race were still loved by Child of Light since the Child of Light had married to the family long time ago. Even though its been thousands of year since the incident occurred, but the story how the crown prince and the Child of Light fell in love was passed down from one generation to the next generation of the royal families.

As for Kayen, he's a lovable child ever since he was a baby because the queen always bring him there and let the fairy pampered him. Of course his mischievous act was built there when he stayed at Crimson Forest for about 3 years when there has been a quarrel between the orc and the elves about Their right to live in magical plains. So there's been a war happened between the two nation in 3 years and the crown prince must be protected from the war as he was 5 years old that time.

While he was in Crimson forest, his life was filled with joyousness and he would play everyday with the small wild elves, the Faerun.

Kayen arrive at Crimson forest and how he missed the forest very much after his father took him back to the castle years ago. Ever since that day, he have many training on how to release his wings, stabilized his mana usage and learn destruction magic to restoration magic. He must cover everything he missed during his stays in Crimson Forest.

After 12 years being away from this beloved forest, finally he return to his second home. As soon his feet step the magical soil of the forest triggered the sweet memories of his childhood running around in the forest with his wild elves friends. Many faerun in longevity for Kayen's return was finally cured when they sensed Kayen's mana and they quickly swarmed Kayen.

"Kayen... we missed you very much!" Tears gushing out from their eyes as soon they met Kayen. "Kayen... you've become a handsome prince...." Some of them were praising their child had grown to be a handsome looking guy in the past 12 years. Its a very cute scene to see the wild elves was cyring in happiness for Kayen's return.

Why not? He's the pampered and adopted Dajyun prince. Moreover, he was blessed with handsome face and talented in controlling elements. Of course the wild elves, Faerun would be excited to take care of him when the queen send him over as they can sense enormous magic source coming out from a small child. But aside from that, what they desire much is the return of the Child of Light to the world.

The warm and comforting love by Child of Light is what they've been waiting for thousands of years. Since Kayen was here, they finally could release they desire to meet their adopted son. The pulled Kayen inside to the forest and start dancing around him. Kayen was delighted to see how well they were from these past years. To be precise, wild elves were a small elven kin and rarely to be seen by the other races. But since Dajyun is the ruler of the fairy land. Other than that, Dajyun race was known to be an emphatic race and friendly to the other races. Even the wood elves, who have the same nature with the wild elves, they didn't feel right to conceal themselves to the wood elves.

In conclusion, wild elves trusts Dajyun more than their cousins. But of course there would be exception to someone aside all this suspicion thing.

"Uh Kayen... you've return..." Said a familiar voice calling out his name in that joyous forest. A female elf came out from the shady area to see his old friend whom for her was taken away from her. "Long time no see, Ilyrana..." Ilyrana aren't Faerun. She was adopted by the Faerun after they found her abandoned by the Dark Elves near Crimson Forest hoping that mixed child of Dark Elves and Dajyun would be killed by the Faerun.

"I'm so glad that I finally can see you again... To be honest I'm really missed you ever since the king took you away from the forest..." Huge gladness can be seen from her white and calm face with a line of smile engraved on her face.

Illyrana was his childhood friend who always been there for him in that forest for three years straight since Illyrana was also adopted child to the Faerun. Why the Faerun adopted her? First she just a baby abandoned by her race. Two, she had strong Dajyun's blood running within her and the Dajyun aura were known to be a comforting aura and many faerun were attracted to this. So Illyrana was an exception to the faerun even though she had Dark Elves blood running within her.

"Did you think that you're the only one who missed me, I also missed you all! I cannot be a playful kid anymore in the castle since my father needed me to train my magic powers to be he's expected heirs. However, I still made such ruckus at the castle whenever I was bored." Illyrana chuckled a bit when she heard her childhood friend stories. Oh, how she wish to visit a real castle rather than listening to the Faerun how beautiful it is the crystal palace at the capital of the fairy land. Maybe her wishes will come true if she ask Kayen to bring her to the capital for a short visit.

But, she's to shy to ask the crown prince of this land for that. Not only that, her reeks of Dark Elves blood could be sensed by the other races such as the sun elves and the wood elves who despised the Dark Elves so much. It was caused by the negative aura of the Dark Elves blood.

But still, its a great thing she was allowed to lived and was adopted to the Faerun despite to their small physical could raise a baby who was 3 times bigger than them into a grown and healthy teenager.

Without waiting anymore, Kayen start walking inside the forest to release all his longing to be able to return here. 12 years is too long for him to be separated from his second family and of course his adopted sister, Illryana.

But for her, Illyrana didn't looked at him as her big brother. She loved Kayen more than a big brother. But she decided to keep her feeling hidden from him. I mean, how could a mixed race could be possibly being loved from a prince of the highest race in this realm? it does not make sense if it is rethought about it.

At least, she hoped that there were small for her in Kayen's righteous heart.
