1 Betrayal
"Chen Juan, stop. Let me explain. It's not what you think." Her father called her from the back.
"Then what is it?" Chen Juan finally asked the question as tears rolled down her cheeks.
How can her father betray her mother for some filthy mistress who was just a few years older than her? She never thought her father would be that kind of man. From childhood onwards she used to look at him as her superhero, who loved and cared for his family, and worked hard to provide for them.
"It's not what you think. She is just a ..." her father sighed, not able to explain.
"A mistress?" Chen Juan completed the sentence for him.
"Chen Juan, it's not what you think," her father tried to calm her down; he tried to pat her back to calm her down.
"Don't touch me with those filthy hands of yours! You cheated on my mother with that filthy mistress. What are you even trying to explain?" She said with bloodshot eyes. The person who she used as an inspiration was never there.
She felt like he was never her dad. Was it really her dad who she was talking to?
"Juan, let's talk about this at home, okay?" Chen Hengyu tried to calm his daughter down.
"Are you done? Dad, I thought of you as my idol, but now I'm ashamed that a bastard like you is my dad," Chen Juan said, holding her head straight.
"Chen Juan!" Before she could realize, a slap landed on her face, her clear porcelain skin started to turn red and swollen.
A stinging pain kicked in, she touched the corner of her lips; it was blood. She scoffed, she started laughing hard.
Her dad got confused seeing her behaving like that. Onlookers started to take photos of the drama. Chen Hengyu tried to stop her, he tried to pull her out of there; but she snapped his hands away.
"Don't touch me with those filthy hands of yours! Go back to your so-called lover, I will ask mom to sign the divorce papers," Chen Juan said and left without turning back.
"Juan, listen to me," her father tried to call her but she didn't turn back.
Onlookers gathered upon seeing the family drama.
"Isn't that Mr. Chen from Chen Groups?" someone one finally spoke out of the crowd.
"Looks like Mr. Chen betrayed his wife for some filthy mistress. What a drama!" one of them snorted.
"What are you looking at? Don't you have any other work?" Chen Hengyu shouted at the group of onlookers.
"So shameless, cheating on his wife and he still has the nerve to come in public," one of them scoffed before leaving.
Upon hearing that comment, Chen Hengyu looked at her, "What did you say? Don't comment if you don't know the truth!" Chen Hengyu shrieked at her.
She left after getting annoyed from his comment.
Chen Hengyu, rubbed the bridge of his nose, and took out his phone; it was his wife calling him.
He picked up the phone, "Hello?"
"Honey, do you know where Juan is? She left the party suddenly and I can't reach her," her mother said in a panic state.
It was a party for her mother, successfully recovering from cancer. But who would have thought that the day she will get her new life, her life partner would cheat on her.
"She must have gone to hospital. Maybe she is in the operating room?" Chen Hengyu lied to his wife, Fang Xin.
Fang Xin couldn't be at ease for some reason. She had a bad feeling that something bad will happen to her daughter.
"Don't worry, she will be fine. I still have a meeting to attend. I will talk to you later." Chen Hengyu cut the call and sighed in relief. His daughter has not told his wife anything, he still has a chance to stop her.
He ran out to catch up with his daughter. He ran towards the parking lot to find his daughter.
Chen Juan sat inside her car, and laid her head on the steering wheel. She still can't believe that her father cheated on her mother.
Few hours ago …
At the party, close friends and family members of Chen and the Fang family both gathered. She was happy getting her mother back.
Everyone was enjoying it, when Chen Hengyu went to the corner to answer a call. She didn't give any notice to it; her father was always busy with the company work. Her family was already used to it. She was sitting with her mother and a few family members when Chen Hengyu came close to her mother and said he needed to go back to the company for some important work.
Chen Juan felt sad for his father going back to work even during such a happy occasion, but Fang Xin nodded and told him to go.
She never understood why her mother never got angry or complained to her husband for not spending more time with her. Whenever Chen Juan asked her mother about it, she always said, "You will not understand it now. You will understand when you get married." Chen Juan was always curious but she never argued with her mother.
After her father left, Chen Juan got an anonymous message from an anonymous number saying, "Your father is cheating on your mom. If you don't believe me, go to the S hotel, room 1208."
Chen Juan didn't believe the message, but her heart wanted to believe in that message. She wanted to prove to the person that her father was not a bad person to cheat on his wife.
She went to her mother, and told her that she had to go back to the hospital as some emergency case came.
Her mother smiled and let her go. After leaving the party, she drove towards the S hotel. And she couldn't believe in her eyes that her father was walking hand in hand with another woman.
