19 Chapter 19: Grudge Match

“Mary, what’s going on?” Ezra asked, making a big gulp in his throat.

“Ezra get back inside. This doesn’t concern you.”

Two van load of assassins were on the scene, led by a very hulky man with a scar across his right eye. This batch of Dai Lee assassins noticeably wore armour over their usual latex garment. All of them except the supposed leader wore a full facial metal mask.

“Mary,” the man with the scar across his right eye repeated. “Is that what she told you her name was?”

“Chang, he’s not a part of this,” Jade insisted. “Let him go. It’s me you want.”

“We both know I can’t do that,” Chang replied. “It’s bad enough I have to kill everyone else in the diner. What’s that now, seven…eight people in the front, plus the cooks and dishwashers at the back?” He genuinely asked, trying to look over her shoulders and through the diner’s glass.

Jade instantly pulled out the sword, “I won’t let you harm these innocent people, Chang,” she declared.
