17 Did I hurt you?

"WHAAT?" An Ruan shot her a dead glared. Ling Yue suprised Bai Xiu as well.

"Why?" Bai Xu asked carefully. That would be a slap for the company if the King Empire's lawyer was sued in their own office.

"Mr. Bai, he have been trying slandering me and my client, threatening me and my whole family, and he just harassing me. I have the evidence for the first two charges, and for the third one, I think I can get it from the surveillance camera here. " Ling Yue pointed her chin towards a small round object attached to the ceiling at the end of the corridor.

She continued, "As the number one's right hand of this company, I'm sure you awared about the issue at King Empire's branch at Tong Zhou district, Mr. Bai," She looked staight to Bai Xu's eyes. "I'm here to discuss it with your lawyer but no longer. I choose talk to your CEO instead. If you refuse my presence now, don't expect me to do nothing. I can submit a complain to your company for underestimated the law by hiring unscrupulous lawyers and ignore environmental problems. Just wait the letter from my office and Tong Zhou District Environmental Protection Bureau in the near future."

Bai Xu taken aback. This woman before him was not someone he could be offended. Her attitude as a lawyer made you immediately think about your mistakes and admit it first, before the goddess here find out and decided used it againts you.

In addition, her posture was standing while holding the boss's hand beside him, made her looked powerful. As if the boss was her King who ready to slaughter her enemy before they could touch his goddess. Unknowingly, Bai Xu gained admiration for the woman in front of him.

All of the sudden, the war's declared scene turn out to be a romantic scene when his boss made Ling Yue fell on his arms.

Xi Jian was too shocked when their hands accidentally touched. He pulled his hand hard. Ling Yue, who was holding his sleeve tightly, dragged along. Her petite body crashed into his broad chest.

Xi Jian hold her body with his hand on her waist. Their faces were too close which made Xi Jian could see his reflection perfectly in her eyes. Her eyes fluttered and staring back to him, shocked. Xi Jian saw how beautifull her eyes. It colored at black with a hint of honey color around her orbs. And most importantly, Xi Jian felt two soft bump sticking to his chest.

Xi Jian immediately pushed her right away. Ling Yue who wasn't ready for another round of push and pull, stumbled, and fall down backward. Her hair which was tied in a bun, splattered when the hairpin came off.

"I'm sorry. Did I hurt you?" aware of what he was doing, Xi Jian immediately knelt before Ling Yue. For the second time that day, the audience was surprised by the actions of their boss. Xi Jian, who always looked almighty, aloof and expressionless, examined that unknown woman anxiously. Xi Jian didn't care about his subordinate's curious eyes.

Ling Yue was speechless. She tried to digest what really happened.

"I'm fine, I guess." She stood up and stared at him. "Can we talk?" she asked impatiently. A red tinge appeared on her cheek. Embarassed and annoyed because he made her fall in front of many people.

Xi Jian got up slowly. His face back to normal, without expression. He nodded and made his way.

Bai Xu hurriedly stop him. "Mr. Xi, there is no time anymore. How about your grandfather, he alre--"

"Deal with it," He halted and turned at Ling Yue said "Follow me," and resumed his walk.

Ling Yue stealth a glanced at Bai Xu. Bai Xu went silent. He was afraid Ling Yue would suddenly add violence on her charge to this company.

The silent audience bursted into chaos after their boss left the scene.

"Did you see? That's too romantic."

"Oh my god! I just found out our boss looks cute when he's worried."

The others baffled. Espescially the man. "Have you ever heard that woman's name?"

"She is very beautiful."

"That's right, that's right! I didn't see that when she first came!"

Others stared at An Ruan with an unreadable expression. An Ruan turned nervously at Bai Xu.

"Mr. Bai, can we talk about this?"
