... she could feel her heart start to race, and her breath quicken when she saw his bare upper body glistening with sweat from the doorway of the apartment ...

"Like what you see?" he asked playfully, and she snapped out of the daze, so embarrassed that she had been caught staring. Amanda covered her face with her hands and turned to 'run away' from the scene only to have her waist grabbed from the back. He nudged the door close with his foot and swung her around. This earned him a girly giggle from her.

"I like the sound of that," he whispered to her as he now held her close. Amanda did not know whether it was because he had lowered his voice or the fact that she was pressed to his bare chest. She suddenly felt the mood change, and he realised it too. Because he slowly turned her around to face him and brushed some loosed tendrils of her hair from her face.

"You've gotten all your sweat on me," Amanda whispered to him as they held eye contact. Her voice sounded different even to her own ears as she continuously stared at his lips.

"We can just take a bath together, later, so that we will all become clean, so do not worry about the sweat." He whispered back to her and that caused her eyes to widen.

"T-take a b-bath together?"

1-'Twists of life' was created to enter the WPC contest #277 and as such was only published on Webnovel and nowhere else. Oh! and we won the Silver prize in the contest!

2-This book is my second attempt at writing a novel and i hope that you give the book a chance.

3-It is a short novel of about 111 chapters only.

4-The world that the book is based in is fictitious, and totally conjured from my imagination. Also, the book was written, proof-read, and edited by me. I am bound to have made mistakes here and there so if you see one, please do leave a comment about it and i will get to it  ASAP.
