Linda's POV

Next day, I ride with Leah and Becky to school. I use the opportunity to tell her of the deal I made with Luke. At first, she is all, ' oh my God! I can't believe you made a deal with that sleazeball!!! You should totally go up to him and tell him to go to hell with his so-called proposition. So what was on the list? '

When I tell her, I expect her to be like, ' just those minor things? Might as well sell your soul to the Devil Lindy!. ' But nah!!! She is quiet, looking thoughtful and just as soon as we park at the kindergarten, guess what she says? ' I actually think that deal was a good thing, maybe this would actually get you to live a little. '

When I ask her what all that is supposed to mean, she simply rolls her eyes and says ' girl you need a life.'

We drop Becky off and get to school with barely ten minutes left. We rush into the school, trying our best to avoid small chat - or Leah tries seeing as she's the one with friends.

All through this ordeal, I keep arguing with her, telling her that I most definitely have a life. We are still heading towards our lockers which happen to be right next to each other, when another one of Leah's friends stop us to talk to her.

The words which leave the lips of tge blonde, hazel eyed, girl, called amber shocks me to the core. " oh my gosh, I totally love your outfit. You must be new here right? If not I'd totally notice someone who has such a great sense of fashion. Of course you're totally new. "

First of all, who the hell uses totally, three times in a sentence?

It was more than one sentence.

But still. Then secondly, how can she say, I'm a new student?! I have calculus with her Mondays and Thursdays, we also have the same physics and biology classes together. We were partners for the last laboratory work we did in chemistry last term! I should totally get mad at her. I hate people like her, people who care less about those around them. I'm definitely going to ignore her and everything she said.

Orrr???

Or what?!!!

You could get a life.

I don't...

I see the smug look on Leah's face and storm off immediately.

Fine, maybe I don't really expose myself to the world but isn't that what I've always wanted? I mean when you expose yourself to people, they break you and if people are just not worth trusting, why let them in, in the first place?

~ ~ ~

By the time we get to our lockers, the warning bell has sounded, giving us about two minutes to get to homeroom.

" Just great, I'm going to be late for the first time ever! " I said still brewing over what happened with Amber.

" well let's hurry, so at least we don't get detention for being in the hall. "

" well we wouldn't be late if it hadn't been for your stupid friends stopping us in the hallway. " I say almost breathless as we sprint down the hallway.

Curse that stupid Principal for placing my lockers far from class

" we're only going to be late to class, it's not like someone died. "

" yeah that's the thing with you being so stupid. My GPA gets ruined because of this, there's a chance I don't get into John Hopkins. If you didn't hang out with such stupid friends every time, you wouldn't have issues understanding this. Stupid you and your stupid friends! " I say heatedly and squashing the small guilt that is building up as I hear Leah gasp.

Her face turns red with anger, her eyes narrowing into ice blue slits " I don't know what's gotten into you but when you get over yourself, then you can stop acting like a bitch and go to hell for all I care!" she opens the class door and slams it shut in my face.

She can go to hell for all I care!

It's when I decide to enter the class, that I become aware of the silence.

Just great! Now everyone's staring.

I enter the class grinding my jaws together. I head straight to my sit, doing my best to avoid the stares. I am still sulking and so I don't hear the teacher calling my name. I place my head on the desk and close my eyes slowly drowsing off.

I feel light, cool, sensations, around my face. It feels nice, so I smile a little bit. The same sensation spreads to my left palm except this time if feels softer like foam . Then suddenly, I feel like someone's continuously tapping me on the shoulder.

I open my eyes, slowly, trying, to get my bearings. Mr Austin Cox, my homeroom teacher is standing in front of my desk, a quizzical brow raised as his bluish almost crystal like eyes stares at me like there's a joke on my face.

But I still love his eyes, they remind me of Liam.

I place my left arm on the desk with my palm on my face. It's then I notice the soft soggy feeling on my face.

The whole class except Leah burst out laughing.

I roll my eyes and look at my palm. Pie, blueberry pie, scents familiar, bet it tastes familiar too.

Libby Cox, Liam's grandmother makes absolutely the best pie ever, I can never forget her pie.

How dare Austin waste her pie!

I want to tear him to pieces right now, but the issue is that we're still in class. " you know that was perfectly good pie you just wasted right? "

" I still have more at home. "

I groan and instantly blush as I realize I am being informal with Austin in school. " I'm going to go wash my hands and face. " With that I rush out of class but not before seeing the scowl on Luke's face.
