1 Burried Under Paperwork

She was definitely a wandering ghost now.

It has actually been around a month since her death and she was floating around the area to watch people living their life.

It was rather a peaceful day and she didn't feel any regrets from her life, despite dying at a young age and brutally at that, by a buglar breaking into the house.

Aria was from a normal family with a satisfyimg life. While she worries about her family sometimes, she wouldn't want to see them again after her last visit.

It broke her heart to see her mother cry over the coffin she was laid into and her brothers mourning silently during her burrial.

They are usually so loud and emotional at times, especially when it's about sports and games.

But when she saw them laugh over their little sister on the last visit, she knew they would be fine.

Aria couldn't help but smile at the thought of her family.

She has no regrets and is rather relieved to see her family still smiling, despite crying and couldn't think but hear her mother calling her too outgoing and relaxed.

Thus was the time, when she noted several ambulances driving past her.

Maybe there are other ghost around the hospital, after all there are usually many deaths happening.

"Man, I'm overworked with collecting all these souls today and you, Glasses?"

"You already used your vacation days for the visit to hell last month."

Floating to hospital she finally saw them for the first time, Death Gods.

At least she believes they are as they are talking about collecting souls, traveling to hell and also going through walls.

"Excuse me, Mr. Death God."

Her voice echoes a little in the rather empty corridor and the two man stare at her as she continues to look back at them while floating.

"Hey. Glasses, what's the protocol again for meeting a soul not collected properly?"

"-Go back to the Training School, Idiot. Excuse me Miss, could you please tell me your name and death date?"

Despite his rather rude wordings to his partner and the cursing under his breath, he talks polite to the ghost girl in front of him.

"I'm Aria Han and I've been death since around a month, not really wanting to remember my doomdate."

He is typing on his phone before looking up again and stares at her face.

"Miss Han, I'm sorry to say that you aren't on the Soul Register, there must have been a mishap on paperwork during your birth and we should go to see a superior."

His partner waves his hand around before a portal was formed and they walk through it into an office room.

It seems like a normal office without any death looking decorations, besides the skull themed pillows on the sofas.

"Hello Ms Aria, it seems like your Soul was accidently sorted to Earth #028XGSZ and we apologize for any unpleasant body situations that have happened, when the vessel isn't for the right soul."

"No need to worry, I didn't had any problems at all during my lifetime."

His dark eyes stares at her seemingly thoughtful as the other two stand behind him rather tense.

He holds out his hand and the man with glasses gives him a briefcase, he opens it and pulls out several decks of cards.

"Choose one."

Aria points to the deck which draws her in and he holds out the cards with the backside towards her.

"Choose three."

She decided for the cards that attracted her the most and he stares blankly at her before going onto his knees.

"Were really sorry to have mishandled your birth process and will work so that you will be transfered correctly this time, Goddess."

At the mentioning of Goddess, Aria becomes flustered and helps him stand up.

"I'm no Goddess Mr Death God."

"The cards you chose showed us that you are the Goddess, which soul has been missing and your vessel has been in slumber for 20 human years.

We thought that your soul was stolen by an evil god or lost on the way and apologize for the mishap in paperwork that has lead to your case."

Flustered she stares at him when he bows again on the floor with the other two, when a beautiful woman enters the room.

She basically steps on the men on the floor before standing in front of Aria staring into her eyes.

"MhMhMh. You definitely are the Goddess we are missing at the moment, Miss Aria. I can see it in your eyes that shine so brightly like the starry sky."

"Lady Death, we have to hurry and tranfer her to the right vessel, that world cannot hold it any longer, if she continues missing."

Lady Death was holding Aria's face close as she stares at her before looking at the man in a mask that followed after her into the room.

"Come with me Darling. I will show you the right way and explain your situation to you."

Lady Death once more steps on the still bowing Death Gods (or Workers?) as Aria avoids stepping on them to follow after her, but she looks back worried, if they are hurt.

"Don't worry that is nothing for people of their caliber or they would have quit long ago, when I started using my whip and heels for punishment."

Walking into the seemingly endless long corridor the few people that cross their ways move to the wall before bowing deeply till they pass by.

"You, Darling, are the current High Goddess of Magic and the complete memories of the previous ones should still reside in the Magic Tower of that Spirit Realm of yours in some crystal ball like usual, if you have questions speak it out loud as there is that dusty old book of yours that you have won from Mr I-Know-it-All.

I believe you know what do on instinct, but still I will tell you that you need to do just for safety reason.

You need to purify the Miasma and watch over that world of yours and bestow some kind of holy weapon and guidiance to a Hero, bla bla and so on."

Nodding Aria seems to process the fact that she is a high Goddess of Magic and should give out Holy Weapons to Heroes like the usual Novel or Game troupe.

"So were here, that's your door, well we won't be able to see each other for a while till you settle down and so, but don't worry Goddess stuff is easier to handle than paperwork. Just don't forget to purify that over the excess Miasma with a Hero of yours!"

Abruptly opening the door Lady Death shoves Aria into it as she could feel the practical memories of the previous Goddess rush into her mind and her concious fades out.
