8 Moment of peace

Lana, Nathaniel and Noam made there way to the entrance of the restaurant to leave. The demon alpha of alpha had gotten tired of being at the hotel. The festival celebrations were still ongoing.

Many were celebrating having gotten the blessings of the moon goddess. Except for few who were not at all pleased by the results of the festival like the king.

He had agreed for Nathaniel to come along with them just until he can find a way to break their bond. He was not going yo settle down. Not until he could break his curse.

"Axel," Lana let out in a sweet voice. He was her chosen mate that the moon goddess had given to her.

She was yet to tell that to her brother and planned to do it soon. She wanted to wait until she was sure that Axel liked her too. And more was the fact that Axel and her brother weren't that close, so she would have to change that before she confessed to her brother.

"What are you doing?" Noam asked her bringing her out of her thoughts. She turned away from Axel and looked at her brother.

"Just calling him so he would know that we are here," she said to him. Her reply was a lie and her brother could see it but he didn't call her out on it. He was older than her and knew the ways of the world.

And being the size of the child came with its advantages. He gets to notice things that normally he wouldn't if he were standing tall in his true form.

He had seen Lana's eyes glow when she called out to the man and when Axel met her gaze he too had a similar glow in his eyes. He was cursed to be in the form of a child not yo be a child so he understood immediately what was going on.

"You should ride with our guest. I will take the next car," Lana let out and helped to the car. Nathaniel went around and got in the backseat next to the alpha.

The driver got ready to drive away when Noam raised his hand to stop him from moving. He looked out the window through the mirror of the car and caught a glimpse of Axel and his sister getting into the same car.

"Let's go," he ordered unhappy. He hated that Lana was keeping whatever was going on with Axel a secret from him, they were not blood related but their bond was stronger as it was created with trust.

But he wasn't too mad, when he thought of the demon next to him. He too was hiding the fact that he was fated to a a half demon who wanted him dead.

Nathaniel had not put a word in since they decided to leave. He just went along still haunted by the five minutes of pleasure that he had with the beautiful older version of the young alpha next to him.

He was conflicted by everything before him and had no idea what to do to change it all. His sister whom he had thought dead was right there in front of him but she didn't recognise him. She also called the creature he came to kill brother.

He was curious as to how his sister survived the wolf attack on their house and why she was with the king of all werewolves. It didn't make sense how that was possible.

But the truth faced him in the face, he wished that he could talk to her and ask her all the questions that he had in mind but he knew not too.

It was too dangerous for him to do anything with her with the alpha around. The young boy still scared him a little. His reputation preceded him and from what he heard. The male was a cold hearted monster that only knew how to break anything that annoyed him.

He had gotten a demonstration when the make had attacked one of the chosen's in anger. It was so breathtaking, how he could be in the form of a child when he was a full grown handsome young man.

He had to admit that it was a great disguise. No one can ever suspect a child to being the alpha of all alphas. And to be so brutal and cold.

All the emotions that he felt Noam felt them too. From fear to awe to surprise and back to fear. It was annoying to him, he had his own feelings to worry about and he had to fell what the demon was feeling as well.

He averted his gaze from the window and faced the demon. "If you don't stop thinking too much. I will cut off your head and throw it out the window," he said to him in a low threatening voice.

His voice made Nathaniel, the driver and the bodyguard to tremble. Nathaniel turned his head to face Noam wondering what was wrong with thinking. It was his mind he was using to think and they were his thoughts so it bothered him why the alpha was affected by it.

"What is wrong with me thinking?" he asked.

The driver and the bodyguard gasp a little too loudly. It was the first time that they witnessed someone talking back to the alpha who wasn't his sister of close friends.

Nathaniel realised that he had made a mistake when he had their gasps. He looked down right away, he was a werewolf hunter but the werewolf that he had chosen to hunt was nowhere close to his match.

He realised that he had made one too many mistakes in his plan. One was picking the King to start his revenge with, two was confessing that he loved the male and getting his attention and three was thinking he could kill him.

Noam inched closer to Nathaniel. He realised that the only way to get the demon to stop thinking too much was for him to be distracted. Even when he threatened him, the demon's feelings only got worse, he was thinking too much and he was feeling all of it.

He placed his hand above Nathaniel's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Nathaniel stooped in his train of thought and stiffen at the sudden contact.

Having the alpha's hand touching his brought the memories of their heated moment to mind. All of his worries were pushed to the back of his mind, he felt wrong feeling this way for a child.

He raised his gaze to ask Noam to remove his hand and was surprised that he was no longer in his childish form.

The alpha was looking out the window with the breeze on his hair and his eyes gazing at the clouds. His lips were pressed together, he looked so calm in that state.

Thump! Thump!

Nathaniel heard the beat of his heart pick up in his chest. The sound that his heart made was the only thing that he could hear. All the other sounds had become silent to him.

Noam could hear the sound of his heart beating very clearly with his super hearing. It masked all the other sounds that his ears was picking out earlier and gave him peace.

Suddenly he found that the demon had some use, he was able to make him forget all the other sounds of the city.

He closed his eyes and decided to take a short nap before they got home. His moment of peace.
