9 HATE TO BE LATE

"Bro, that's good news!.. but.. she's too old for you though." I heard Tobias say in between my remarks about my mate.

"You're late man. It's such a shame." he repeated. I looked up to him and trailed to where his eyes were looking... and now I understand what he was talking about. We are parked right outside one of the renowned restaurants in Osaka, best known for their beef. We saw an elderly couple as they exit themselves from the big door.

"I don't know whether I should laugh or cry because of your sorry ass, Tobias!"

"There's nothing wrong with my ass bro! It's plumpy!" he retaliated in his most serious face and downright rude tone.

"Why I even bothered talking to you at this point?" I sighed heavily.

"WHAT?.. HEY.. WAIT!"

I looked at Tobias with pitiful eyes, clicked my tongue and tapped his shoulder. Without saying anything, I got out of the vehicle and made my way to the the loving couple. Tobias remained seated - still trying to decipher my behavior.

"Allow me to help you... If you don't mind." I requested as I bent down to hold on to the Walker of the older lady. They glanced at me and I smiled as my greeting at the man she was with, which he immediately reciprocated.

"What a fine young man. You're partner is lucky to have you." He commented.

"I don't have... I .. I am single sir." I lowered my eyes, trying to hide my embarrassment.

"Oh that's a pity. You have it rough. Men at tour age should be married even."

"Here you go again. You close that mouth of yours." The woman interrupted her husband as she slapped his arm. She then returned her gaze to me.

"Please don't listen to him. What is your name?"

The old lady asked me while she grabbed my arm for support. I looked straight to her chestnut brown eyes and at the wrinkles on the side that were very visible and truly speak for her age. The freckles around her cheeks towards the bridge of her nose helped in creating a softer and an approachable look. I smiled again as I examined her face.

She really has a beauty that doesn't fade.

"Damon Schulze - Königlich is my name madam." I answered her proudly. She then tapped my hand and said

"You will meet her soon. She is more than what you could hoped for. The journey will be very difficult because of your differences but be strong and lead the way. It's going to be worth it."

I was astonished with what I heard. My heart ached so much that I did not notice my tears started falling from the corner of my eyes. I breathe heavily trying to control my emotions but still failed. The man beside her place his hands on my shoulders and said

"It has been so long that my wife practiced her skill in reading a person's future so please don't mind it too much... but I truly hope that you'll be happy too lad." He finished.

"Thanks Sir! It really mean a whole lot to me!."

"Good Luck to you young man!" He rubbed my back one more time before letting go.

"Now let me get you a ride." I guided both of them and felt lucky that I was able to encounter this couple. Whether what she said was just a fluke, I still wanted to hold on to that last hanging thread. I realized that I need my Luna after all.

I waived at the approaching cab and helped the elderly inside.

"Can you please tell me your names?" I asked.

Tobias was now beside me and saw him reach out to his back pocket and gave some money to the cab driver.

"My wife is Edelyn and I'm Morris."

"Thank you for today Mrs. Edelyn and Mr. Morris."

"Don't worry, we will meet again." the old lady interjected after her husband. Tobias signaled the driver and I saw the vehicle leaving the spot.

"So...was she your mate?" My Beta asked.

"Are you right on your head?" I shouted.

"What?... Why?.. You were helping her?!..Did I miss anything?" He defended.

"You missed your brain, dumbass!"

"Huh?? Don't get mad at me bro!"

"Listen carefully as I will only say this once. That was her husband. I helped them because they reminded me of what true love really is." I further explained.

"Oh so that was it." He giggles while scratching the back of his head.

I shake my head from side to side and ruffled my hair. I decided to let go of this man's innocent mind.

"Let's get inside. My mate's scent is stronger there." I walked in front of Tobias and was the first one to open the door. Jasmine and Rose once again dance through the air. I was sniffing the area and found where the scent was more concentrated. I lift my feet one by one to a table at the corner of the restaurant. I do not see any signs of food being placed but I cannot be wrong with my senses.

'MATE' My wolf said - finally waking up from his strike.

'FIND HER'

'MARRY HER'

'CLAIM HER BODY THEN HAVE A BABY'

Whoah.. Whoah.. Easy boy. It's not that simple -  I explained through our mind link, stopping my wolf from clouding my head. He growled at me but I managed to control him.

When I got that out of the way, I sat down to the chair across the glass wall. My eyebrows raise in amusementas it felt like hugging my mate. Inhaling the scent from the table cloth was all it took for me to rest my head on it so suddenly, creating a loud bang.

"Everyone calm down.. he is okay. Just  jet lag. Not crazy at all!" Tobias said diverting the attention of the crowd to him.

"She was here not so long ago. I found her but now she is gone."

I AM INDEED LATE.
