20 Chapter 3 (5/7)

Both Arthur and Belka have their mana depleted and could no longer cast any magic spell for several hours. The best they could do now was watching the fight between the Demon General and Gold Dragon-kin Skeleton Warrior. Both seem to be equally strong at first. But after five minutes of fighting, the Demon General changed from fighting aggressively into defensively. Two minutes after that, the Gold Dragon-kin Skeleton Warrior flew up higher and swung down its sword at full force. The Demon General raised his sword and attempted to parry that attack but it broke his sword and chopped him into two pieces.

Both Arthur and Belka were observing the Demon General carefully to see if he was truly killed by the Gold Dragon-kin Skeleton Warrior or not. After the Demon Warrior's corpse was automatically teleported back into Hell Realm, Arthur was happy while Belka was sad knowing she would lose this battle. Together with six Phantom Knights, the Gold Dragon-kin Skeleton Warrior quickly annihilated the one hundred thirty (130) low-tier demons and finished by cutting Belka's head off. Everything happened in less than a minute. Belka thought about surrendering but because two other teammates were killed, she decided to let Arthur kill her as well.

Arthur whispered softly after seeing Belka was decapitated, "You have earned my respect by choosing an honorable death instead of cowardly surrendering."

The announcer was shocked by the result and forgot to announce the winner despite seeing Arthur was the only one standing alive in that battleground. The arena master ran inside and casted [Resurrection] spells three times to revive Milos, Samm, and Belka. After that, the announcer remembered that he still had a job to do and quickly announced, "The winner of this round is Arthur Castillon. In total, Mages' Academy of Nosh has 2 wins. Mages' Academy of Smot has 1 win. I hereby announced Mages' Academy of Nosh had won this match."

[Resurrection], level 25 Light spell.

The audience cheered while Arthur was banishing his conjured creatures back to their realms. Arthur walked out of the arena where he met Vincenzo, Faziel, and all members of the eight Novice teams of Nosh.

Vincenzo pat Arthur on his shoulder and said, "Arthur, you have never let me down. You have made all of us proud today."

Faziel said, "You have done the impossible, Arthur Castillon. No one has ever done something like that in the Student Mages Battle Tournament."

Eight Novice teams of Nosh praised Arthur nonstop because his victory had cheered them up. Jaane's group was the only Novice team in Mages' Academy of Nosh that could make it to the next battle of this tournament. Arthur glanced at Adela and saw she was smiling at him. Since the day he lost to Kain, Arthur has been forcing himself to train too hard and did not spend enough time with Adela. Arthur told himself that he would apologize to Adela when he has a chance and will keep his promise of taking her out on a romantic date in Nosh city.

Inside the arena, VIP audience areas. Nations leaders and Mage Guilds' directors were talking about sponsoring Arthur Castillon throughout his remaining years in the Mages' Academy of Nosh and hoping that he would come work for them after graduation. The Mages Council prohibited Master, Legend, and Saint Mages to be employed by the Nations' leaders. However, they can indirectly hire these high-tier Mages by providing quests to the Mage Guilds in their nations. If Arthur agrees to join a Mage Guild in their nation, then they would have a chance to hire him for quests. Arthur was still an Intermediate-tier magic caster at this time. But what about eleven years from now when he graduates? Who knows how strong he was going to be at that time? Perhaps Arthur could step into the Legend-tier or at least master the Master-tier of Conjuration Magic.

A Legend Mage can live up to two thousand years. Approximately ten percent of Legend Mages can successfully advance into Saint-tier magic casters and live for infinitely. There are no spell books for Saint-tier magic casters to learn new spells. That is why they will have to create unique spells of their own. A spell created by one Saint Mage may not be learned by another Saint Mage even if they have the same Elemental Soul.

The announcer announced, "Next, we have another battle between Student Intermediate Mages in Mages' Academy of Nosh versus Student Intermediate Mages in Mages' Academy of Flumen."

Hearing that, Arthur, other students, and professors of Nosh rushed back to the audience side of the arena to watch the battle.

Arthur said, "Professor Biersack, I'm eager to see how Kain is going to fight. I felt bad for Mages' Academy of Flumen, they won't be able to defeat him."

"Arthur, Kain is not going to participate in the Student Intermediate Mages battle."

"Oh? Why is that?"

"He is one of our six Student Master Mages."

"He what?"

"Yes, that was why he didn't come to Intermediate Conjuration classes for the past two years."

"I see. I was wondering where he went off to. I thought you decided to train him privately."

"You and Kain are both of my favorite students. Arthur, there is no such thing as private lessons in our Mages' Academy, just extra tutoring. Nonetheless, Kain advanced into the Master-tier this early is not a good thing."

"Why is that, Professor Biersack?"

"Kain has recently advanced into the Master-tier. He can not use any Master Conjuration magic spells yet. Kain will be at a great disadvantage when fighting with other Student Master Mages in this tournament."

"I understand. Kain advanced into the Master-tier but he is just slightly stronger compared to a level 20 Intermediate Mage. Professor Biersack, I could feel my advancement into the Master-tier isn't far. Within a year or so, I will be able to break through as well."

The second team of Student Intermediate Mages of Nosh had to fight with Student Intermediate Mages of Flumen.

First-round, Nosh sent two students, Flumen sent two. Flumen won.

In the second round, Nosh sent three students to secure a win just like Arthur's group had done before. Flumen sent two. Flumen still won.

There was no third round as Flumen secured two wins in a row.

Mages' Academy of Flumen was ranking #1 in all Mages’ Academies of Toria Continents. No one was surprised by this result. Eight Novice teams of Flumen, five advanced into the next battle. Two Intermediate teams of Flumen, both advanced into the next battle.

After all the Student Intermediate Mages tournament battles were over. Next, it will be the tournament battles of Student Master Mages. In anger, Anrod Peckgray walked into the room dedicated to Student Master Mages of Sinerin and called a name out loud, "Oletha!"

"Yes, Professor Peckgray?" Oletha respectfully answered.

"Who will you send out to fight first?"

"That would be Eoran Elian since he is the weakest."

"Cancel that, you will go first. I have just found out your opponent team is the losers of Nosh."

"Hoh? Uhm, as you wish."

"Take out at least three of them, you hear me?"

"Yes, Professor Peckgray."
