182 What punishment did you get?

Shi Weiwei's face went from guilty to accusing in a flash, "How can you say that!!!" she exclaimed.

'No no, listen to me Weiwei,' Xuan signed, and Shi Weiwei huffed and crossed her arms, 'I want you to do the play as normal. But that's what I want. It really is up to you, you're the director after all. I would just really like to see the play being performed at the end of semester ball. Even if I'm not a part of it.' Ying Xuan finished and dropped her hands in her lap, looking dejected.

Shi Weiwei sighed and swore before she spoke, "Oh god! Fine!!" Xuan looked up, her face a mixture of surprise and happiness. But before she could say something, Weiwei cut in, "I have a condition." She continued while Xuan eyed her with suspicion, "You have to tell me what punishment you got."

'Oh my god!!! Why does that even matter?!' Xuan signed and threw up her hands in frustration. "It matters because I want to know. And I won't go ahead with the play until you tell me." Shi Weiwei replied, her tone leaving no room for negotiation.

'Fine!!' Xuan signed, a little vexed. 'The director was very angry upon my breaking the curfew. He threatened to have me temporarily suspended, but seeing who I am,' Xuan's face contorted in disgust as she signed this. 'Seeing who I am, he decided to call my father.'

Shi Weiwei gasped and Ying Xuan continued, 'Dad was of course very angry at being disturbed. He called me a troublemaker who wouldn't let him catch a break. And decided to call me back home.'

Weiwei actually screamed as she interrupted Xuan, "Oh god!! What have I done! Oh I'm the worst friend anyone could have." 'Listen first.' Xuan interrupted her wailing and continued, 'So dad decided to call me back home, but the director was horrified upon hearing this, and his attitude took a complete turn. He told dad that I was not that much of a troublemaker and I had never gotten into any serious trouble before. Sure, I was not a goody two shoes, but my talent and grades more than made up for my little antics.'

"I didn't think the director was capable of praising anyone." Shi Weiwei timidly spoke, biting her nails.

'That makes two of us.' Ying Xuan's face almost broke into a smile as she signed this. 'Anyway, that made dad reconsider and he asked the director to give me a strict punishment to control my behavior. And told me that 'one more step out of line, and I would be back home before i could say a word', Like I could ever say a word.' Xuan signed bitterly and felt silent, deep in thought. Though she was looking at Shi Weiwei, her mind was clearly far away.

Weiwei gave her a couple of minutes with her thoughts before she spoke, "So, what did the director say?"

'Oh him?' Xuan came out of her thoughts. 'He decided I won't be taking part in any extra-curricular activities this semester. Like your play, bit convenient, isn't it?" Xuan signed with a bitter smile and continued, 'And I am not allowed to leave the dorm till the end of the semester ball.'
