9 The Hacker

CHAPTER 9

Nicholai's POV

"AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" Lette and I abruptly stopped walking as soon we heard the yell of some student coming from the school grounds. We hurriedly run to the scene and personally checked what just happened. As we got there, we are all stuck as we saw a dead body covering a lot of blood splattered on the ground with its brain and looks like a whole-body fracture. A girl jumped from the rooftop of a 13 floored university building.

"Looks like we have another case, Lai." Lette whispered to me. I approached the crime scene and unfortunately got interrupted by the idiot Kyle, oh good, I just forgot that he is existing with the same world and breathing with the same air as mine. So gross.

"What is your problem? I irritatingly looked at him.

"Why are you walking towards the corpse? Aren't you disgusted?" he said then start squirming his body like a worm.

"And why do you think I am going towards the corpse? I will call the police looks like no one wants to." I answered then left him. I searched for Lette and guess where is my little sister at? She was charging towards the whole crowd like she's saying that "make way, detective is here" wow, what a disguised. I reached out for my phone inside my pochette then start dialing our secretary.

"Code red." I just said to her without any context.

"I got it." She answered then ended the call. Looks like I'll just wait for the police to come before I can approach the actual scene. Then, I saw Kyle lurking between the crowd and me like saying "I know your identity". I hate him!

Nicholette's POV

"EXCUSE ME!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, making my way into the crowd towards the crime scene. Why are these students like this? Instead of calling for the cops they just took photos of it and posted in their social media.

"Useless creatures are always like that." I looked to the person who spoke, it's Lucas, friend of Kyle.

"Are you talking to me?" I confusedly asked.

"Maybe yes if you're useless, but maybe no if you're not." He answered coldly. He walks towards the corpse and looked closely into it. Of course, I will not let him get the honor of being a "detective-like" so I also do what he does.

"She's dead." He whispered.

"Wow, what a discovery. Of course, she's dead. For your information she fell 13 stories high." I sarcastically said to him.

"She's dead when she jumped." He said nonchalantly. But what? She is already dead?

"All students go to your respective classrooms, we will conduct an investigation when the cops arrived, no one will leave the school." Said by the school's guard.

"W-wait!"

"Ma'am excuse me, please go back to your classroom." The guard said to me.

"But!" I was just about to say that cops will need me, when I felt chills through my spinal cord. Yes, my sister is glaring at me so bad that her eyeballs might flip, so I did not have a chance to defend myself and walk towards her.

"So, Nicholette! What nonsense did you do there?" she immediately asked.

"What nonsense? I am a detective; I need to solve this!" I proudly answered.

"Who is detective?" my mouth got zipped when someone approached us, it's Kyle again with Lucas.

"No one. Just wanted to be." I answered then smiled innocently.

"Lai, Lucas said that she's dead." Kyle said to Lai, wait, did he know that Lai is a detective?

"So? Am I a cop?" my dear sister sarcastically answered. I feel like Kyle still do have feelings for Lai. He just wanted to act like hard-to-get guy.

"You're Lucille's twins, of course you're a detective." Both of us looked at each other. Omg! We're busted!

"Follow me." Lai said. We all entered into a vacant computer lab and locked the door.

"How do you know us?" I asked immediately. I hold my taser under my skirt in case they will attach us or anything. I don't know, being a paranoid is better than being naïve.

"We're spying the thorns; we are from the third syndicate and we are tasked to find Lucille's Twins." Lucas answered.

"Why are you looking for us?" Lai asked.

"You have the files, we need them." Lucas answered coolly.

"What files?" I confusedly asked, reason for the two of them to look at each other.

"Files for destroying all syndicates." Kyle answered.

"What?"

We all stopped talking when we heard something or someone rustles between computers in this wide room.

"Who's there?" Lai asked.

"Come out or we'll the one who'll find you there." Kyle said. All of us became alert, what if other syndicates came into this school and started following us? Ghad! That was so terrifying!

"H-hi?" she said between the computer shelves.

"Oh hi. What is your name pretty?" Kyle said. What? Is he that playboy? Lai really made the best choice. Good job sis!

"I-I am Izhi, Janna Izhi." She spoke. I looked at Lai asking her what we will do to her, she just shrugged me off and look at the girl again.

"Lucas, what are we going to do?" I asked.

"I don't remember permitting you to call my name." He answered. Wow what a relevant answer.

"Lai! Come on! We need to think of something, maybe she heard everything we talked about."

"Lette! Don't be so paranoid okay? We just need to know who she is." Lai answered.

"Do you think she will answer honestly?"

"Then, we'll try." Kyle answered. For I know he just wanted to flirt with that girl.

"Who are you?" Lucas asked, again coldly.

"Don't ask her like that. What are you doing here Izhi?" Kyle asked.

"Uhh, this is my personal space. I've been working with computers."

"Are you a computer enthusiast or something?" I asked. Of course, this is a computer lab. Maybe people like her might want to become great with computers or what.

"I-I am a hacker." What?
