5 The Code

Someone's POV

"Did you get it?" asked by a woman sitting at the swivel chair, her aura filled the room.

"No, Ma'am.." answered by a man without looking her straight at the eyes because of the cold atmosphere, it left the man shivered in fear.

"Why?" a calm but firm question by the woman. She is controlling her voice from shouting at him and at the same time herself from being angry.

"It's nowhere to be found at the headquarters."

"Here! Take it! No one should know about this operation. I think that amount is more than enough to make your mouth shut, or else your life will be at stake." The woman said then throw a huge bag full of cash, with approximately P10 million dollars. The man immediately took the bag after confirming its contents inside, and left the room.

"Luke." A guy approached the lady by her simple call.

"Yes Ma'am?"

"Kill them." Luke was slightly shocked by the order but he immediately fixed his composure.

"Yes Ma'am. I got it." Luke answered then gave sign signals to his underlings to follow him outside the office and do the task given to him.

Third Person's POV

After Luke's group left the room, the lady cannot control anymore her anger and irritation. She yelled out of her frustration and threw the things she got on her hands.

"Why can't I defeat them? They are just some pathetic losers! And yet, I can't defeat them!" she shouted and shut her both fists shaking as her rage continue to increase.

*Phone rings*

"What?" she calmly answered the caller.

"Ma'am, we're finished." Luke reported.

"Good job." She said the end the call. I need to recruit new members to infiltrate them. They're so hideous, no can know their plans. But I promise in the name of this rune I will find the files and assassinate them.

Nicholai's POV

I woke up early this morning because I need to solve the case, my mom's death with the use of her dying message we discovered last time. And at the same time, we need to prepare because next week is finally the day of first day of classes. Not because I am excited going to school, but because of our undercover operation. The school where we will conduct the operation is at the school owned by the family of my ex-boyfriend.

Yes, I do have romantic cells inside my body, not that obvious, I guess. But, many things happened and I decided that we need to separate our ways, without telling it to his mom. Even so, I don't want to encounter him, for sure he will just be curious why I'm back and will tease me some things like I cannot move on with him and such. I feel so tired, suddenly.

I fixed myself then immediately went to the headquarters. As I entered the room, I did not expect anything that I am witnessing right now. The whole room was a mess looks like someone raided the room, I scanned the place and I noticed a lady figure turned her back on me, in front of the cabinet where mom's files were located.

"You're late." The woman looked at me and I just rolled my eyes when I realized who's the crazy person who made this room like an animal habitat, yes, it is my twin.

"What the heck are you doing? You are ruining the actual crime scene! Are you crazy?" I shouted then grabbed her arm.

"You know something don't you?" she said to me, thing that halt me in answering her immediately.

"W-what d-do you mean?" Damn it! I cannot control my voices from shaking.

"You know something about that thorns thingy." She said then approached the table. She removed all the things above it and turned on the flashlight through her phone.

"N-no. I don't know anything about it." I answered then followed her.

She went to the left side of the table and put the flashlight in front of a small hole beside the table. The light travels and it forms like a constellation, we followed the light with our very own eyes. When the whole table was beaming wholly, we saw a Japanese character, which I cannot understand its real meaning.

"It means Death." She said then look at the character again. Below the character, I saw a rune that I cannot forget.

Thorns...

My foot automatically moved backward and looked at Lette, like she is waiting for my response, I inhaled deeply and release a huge sigh, I think I cannot hide it anymore from her.

"I'll tell you later. Let's just solve mom's case." I said the looked at the cards at the floor. The cards were still intact to each other. We solved them last time and it reads as Mirai, Future in English.

"Future." I mumbled.

"What?"

"It's the word forms in mom's code." I said then show the cards we solved.

"So mom wants to tell us that we will know the answer in the future? Really?" I nodded.

"It definitely makes no sense!" she said then sat on the couch beside her.

"I don't know. Maybe we'll continue solving the case no matter what. Even if we discover the answer in the future." I said the start fixing all the things that Lette messed up.

"So, what happened?" I looked at her way and I saw her eyes full of curiosity. Then, I started narrating the whole story back then.

After 20 mins.

"So that's it?" she said.

"Yeah and I think they're the ones behind this murder."

"Looks like we can't really know the answer now, we can't solve mom's case without knowing the entire story in the past."

"Yeah. So, are you in?" she flashed a smile, a full of excitement smile.

"Yes! Of course!" she exclaims. That's the Lette I've known. She's a hyper kiddo.

"Let's go, we need to be really prepared in this next project we have. We can solve the case later but we need to solve first this mission we got in our hands before anything else." I said the walked out the room.

Just watch. Those thorns will be cut by these 2 wild roses. Every rose has its thorns, but our thorns are different. Its more poisonous and DEATHLIER.
