10 Chapter 10 : Blue Silver Fang

After unexpectedly earning a huge amount of money Zarek was in a very good mood walking towards the city gate. The streets were naturally busy as it was still morning and high time for business. Zarek could see the scenery of people haggling and bargaining, hear noises of hammering from blacksmiths, smell the sweet fragrance of delicacy coming from various restaurants. Walking on the bustling streets Zarek thought of buying some weapons before leaving the city as he had some money in his hand. So Zarek stopped before a weapon store that belonged to his sect. Zarek chose this store because going to another sect's store only means getting himself extorted.

Just after pushing the door open Zarek could see many weapons showcasing in the store. There were all kinds of weapons beginning from sword to spear, bow etc etc. There were even some aura weapons displayed on the showcase. Seeing Zarek enter the store, the store manager greeted him politely.

"Greetings disciple of the sect. How can I help you?"

"I want to buy some weapons." Zarek replied without thinking much.

The store manager looked at him awkwardly and asked, "Wouldn't you get better weapons from the sect?"

Zarek looked at him and made a lame excuse, "I just forgot to bring my weapon. So I just thought of buying a temporary weapon rather than going back to the sect."

The store manager didn't think much and showed Zarek weapons for him.

'For Zerik's small body I guess it would be best to get a dagger.'

So Zarek asked the store manager, "Can you show me some daggers?"

"Sure. Look, there are a lot of collections of daggers."

Looking through the daggers, one dagger caught Zarek's eye. It was a dark blue with a silver shine double edge short dagger. It was even one of the shortest ones among the daggers. Its length was around 6 inches. The grip and the blade were almost equal in length. The blade of the dagger was really sharp, sharp to the point of cutting a finger with just a fluke of touch. The ricasso of the dagger was narrower than the blade. The quillon was curved toward the blade. There was also a blue shiny ruby between the grip and guard giving the short dagger a refined look.

(Here's an image for reference.)

"You have great eyes. This dagger's name is Blue Silver Fang. It is almost on a par with low quality master grade weapons."

"How much is this dagger?" Zarek asked.

"600 gold only." The store manager replied with a smile.

Master grade weapons are the weapons that only aura masters can use. Because these weapons contain faint willpower of the beast whose body or body parts were used as a material to make the weapon. If a normal person tries to use a master grade weapon this faint willpower of the beast residing in the weapon will hurt his mind. As their mental resistance and concentration aren't even close to aura masters.

'What? 600 gold is a lot.' 600 gold may not look much in cities but in remote places like small villages it was a lot. You can even spend a week or two only with a single gold there, much less 600 gold.

'But if its quality really is almost on the same level with low quality master grade weapons. It's actually cheap.'

Low quality master grade weapons sell around 10000 gold coins. Some even surpassing 10000 gold coins. Compared to it, 600 gold is nothing. And if the dagger is even half as powerful as a master grade weapon it would be worth it.

"But can't you lower the price a bit for the disciple of the sect?" Zarek still tried to bargain, reluctant to spend so much money just after earning it.

"But sir I have already lowered it as much as I could. This dagger's general price is more than 1000 gold. After all, it is almost as powerful as a low quality master grade weapon, if not it is still better than most normal weapons." The store manager replied.

"Fine." Zarek also agreed reluctantly.

Just as Zarek was leaving the store Zarek saw a whip laying on a corner. Zarek asked, "How much is that whip?"

The store manager replied hurriedly, "But that's just a normal whip."

But Zarek's perception was different. To him whose body was really weak making him unable to fight. Zarek thought he could at least support Zerik with a whip if needed.

"Don't worry I am fine with it. How much are you willing to sell it for?" Zarek asked.

"15 silver I guess." The store manager said awkwardly.

Zarek gave the store manager 1 gold coin and took the change which was 85 silver coins. Afterward, Zarek left the store and went to the city gate to leave.

After walking for 15 minutes Zarek could see the city gate which was huge and many people and carriages were going in and out. Zarek walked forward and saw 1 of the middle aged guards approaching him when he reached the gate. The guard stopped him and asked, "Where are you going? Do you have permission from your sect?"

Zarek didn't say anything and only put a small pouch in his hand. The guard opened the pouch and looked inside. What came to his eyes was the pouch full of gold.

The pouch had 20 gold coins.

"Ahem." The guard cleared his throat and beckoned Zarek to follow him.

He then opened the gate for him and said, "You can leave."

Immediately after saying that to Zarek the guard shouted to another guard saying, "He has permission from his sect."

The other guard replied, "Alright."

Zarek nodded and left the city gate.

Just after leaving the gate a bald middle aged man with beards asked Zarek from his carriage, "Hey young man where are you going? Wanna get a ride?"

"I just want to go to a nearby forest to hunt some beast." Zarek replied to the bald man.

"I will go by the moldylizard forest. What do you say? It's also nearby."

"I am fine with it. How much do you want?"

"hahaha. Just hop into the carriage. I am going there anyway. Just give any amount you want." The middle aged man laughed out loud.

Zarek narrowed his eyes. Seeing the middle aged man's too friendly behavior Zarek felt kind of uncomfortable but he agreed regardless.

Zarek hopped in the carriage and sat.

The middle aged man introduced himself, "I am Igor. What is your name, young man?"

"Zarek." Zarek replied with one word and didn't say anything else.

Seeing Zarek not willing to talk much, Igor also didn't ask anything else

2 hours later they reached the moldylizard forest. Zarek came down from the carriage and gave Igor, who was seated in front controlling the horses 2 gold coins.

After departing Zarek sighed. He was on guard the whole journey because of his discomfort for nothing. But it was natural as he had a good amount of gold with him. It wouldn't be weird if some thief tried to rob him.

10 minutes after departing he found a wild wolf inside the moldylizard forest.

Zarek smiled, "Let's see what you can do, Zerik."
