Reincarnated!

And a light drizzle blessed the face of the guy who stayed still, waiting for his death. In the muddy fields, his blood coloured the canvas of the earth a little, and a little more of the earth was becoming one with his body.

His scarred face towards the dark sky, he looked at countless stars as his only companion, while his dim blue eyes recalled the bits of his momentary life.

No thoughts crossed the mind of this being as he stayed still. Everything he had to say, he had already said it. Everything he could have done, he already did. And for now, during his last breaths, he wanted to pass on peacefully.

"Azariel," a voice called. The ethereal voice that seemed melodious enough to make one dance with joy resounded in his ears. Those ears which couldn't hear the rustling wind anymore, now began listening to this majestic voice.

"I always wanted to meet you. But not like this," that majestic voice healed his soul. Pity his body was mostly dead now, or else he would have felt a bit more alive.

"This life was too cruel to you. Everything that happened… I didn't think greed could drive those humans to kill the very being that was trying to save them," the voice carrying a hint of pity mixed with care echoed in the ears of Azariel.

"I have some news for you… or perhaps it is my own selfish wish. I am going to reincarnate you. It was hard pleading with the other Gods, but I managed to do it." That voice spoke words that sounded heavenly, in a rhythm that seemed divine.

"If I had let you die, you would have reincarnated without your memories. You won't be you anymore… I cannot let that happen. I want to meet you… I want to talk to you… this is the only way. Sorry to force this upon you," that voice pleaded in a way that didn't seem like pleading. Something odd about the way it was said.

"All right. There are three things you need to remember before you reincarnate," the being spoke in a hurry as he continued,

"One is that you cannot use the magic of that world. Your affinity has been cut off in exchange for your memories. It was a necessary step to balance things."

"The other is that you need to find the strongest being in that world and kill him. That way, you can return to this world."

"And finally, since you cannot use magic in that world, I have given you a bit of something that should help you. It's honestly the most that I was allowed, so sorry about that," and a bit of knowledge passed down into Azariel's mind before his eyes closed for the last time.

And the man who left the world behind died in the presence of a God that the world chased. His soul crumbled slowly before turning into bits and then flowing into the river of reincarnation.
