[Jack Harrison Brandon - 15 YEARS OLD - 07/24/1906]

Alice, my little sister, aka my little chipmunk, was growing day by day, showing she was gentle and loving by nature, making it virtually impossible not to love her; she was too sweet for the time she was born, too much.

A day with her was the equivalent of a dopamine overdose; if that was possible, so no moment with her was an unhappy one, she made sure of that. Clever, inventive, and funny, she was one of a kind, making me feel like a proud parent, for I had basically raised her. Before her, I always wondered what it would feel like to be a big brother, have a family, things I never got to experience in my first like.

Now I know what it feels like, and it's a feeling I would forever hold and cherish.

Which is why I couldn't understand how our father, Edgar, didn't love her at all, treating her just as he treated our mother, with total indifference, save for the occasional social meeting where he had to keep the appearances. But I would live with this, as long as he didn't hurt them... he would live, that is something Venom, and I have promised.

As for me, well I was fifteen years old, and I was massive…. I did not expect to be so tall, six-foot-tall so far, and I have yet to hit my last growth spurt, and that wasn't all; I was also a very muscular teenager; the funny thing is I barely workout, its all thanks to Venom, who is constantly busy changing my body to be the best version of me possible.

I was finally an adult, and with the money I had saved working in the local mines since I was sixteen years old, I bought a two-bedroom apartment in Seattle, for reasons... of investment, the real estate at the time was very cheap, and I had to take advantage of that... that the future... would change dramatically.

And all it took me was five thousand dollars of savings, to think that would be a wage in the future, but today was the cost of a house, impressive.

But even with my newfound freedom and house, I wasn't planning on moving out yet; I had to first figure out a way to get the legal custody of Alice, and in the way, convince my mother to leave the emotionless piece of trash that we had the pitiful shame of calling father.

Apart from me buying a house and Alice being the same bundle of fun and giggles but a bit bigger because she was now eight years old, not much has changed... Well, aside from the fact that she had recently started to make a lot of pretty accurate predictions of the future, sometimes she would miss, but more often than not, she would be right; Venom is sure she's a psychic, which is not uncommon in his home universe.

And well, after being reincarnated… with a space creature genetically bonded with me, well… I believed him.

[Jack Harrison Brandon - 23 YEARS OLD - 08/28/1914]

World War I… a catastrophe of immense proportions had started… and I was forced to go and help my nation; this was something I had not foreseen, or rather something I had forgotten with time.

Someone had… registered my name and all my information, so for the government, I had willingly offered myself to serve. At first, I was perplexed as to who had royally fucked me… but after I gave my situation a bit of thought, I knew who had done it.

My father.

He was still angry with me for not caring about the family business, but most of all, he was furious; I was trying to take Alice from him, seeing my actions as a challenge to his toxic authority.

The worst part was that Alice has foreseen I would go, and I interpreted that as if she had seen us leaving together, her vision was confusing, and unclear and now, I knew why.

"Do you think this is funny?!" I shouted, busting the doors of his office open, "You enlisted me!"

"I did not do such a thing," Edgar smirked, "It seems you won't take your mother and sister with you anytime soon," he added with a sense of satisfaction.

"You think this will stop me?" I growled, my voice merging with venom, thanks to the unyielding rage I was feeling right now.

Edgar eyed me for a second before he smiled, "You can't stay… if you run… you will be labeled as a deserted, and how will you then provide for your sister? Your only option is going to war, maybe I'll join you if I get drafted," he added with a small laugh, he knew he would not be drafted, he has friends in the right places to avoid such a thing, probably the same friends that had forcibly enlisted me.

"We will be back, of that… you can be sure of," I growled.

"....We?" Edgar muttered as I left his office.

"I don't want you to leave!" Thirteen-year-old Alice cried on my shoulder.

"I know chipmunk, but I have to… if I run from this, bad things will happen," I soothed; all I had to do was survive the war for four years, and I would be back.

"I… promise me you will come back," Alice begged me, "Promise me,"

"I promise… no matter what my little chipmunk, no matter what" That was a promise we intended to keep.

"When are you leaving?" Alice inquired, still sobbing.

"Well, they are coming to pick me up tomorrow," I answered.

"So soon," Alice said, hugging me tightly.

Maybe it's best if we just kill Edgar and run with mother and chipmunk!.... no, we can't do that…. I can't force them to live like criminals.

"Alice, listen carefully… if you ever need to escape or something, go to our secret tree… under the tree where the snake used to live, there is a small safe with four thousand dollars and the key to my house in Seattle, take it all and leave if you find yourself without anyone to help you…." I said as I gave her the combination, "I will find you if you leave here, so don't worry,"

"I won't, I trust you… I know you will always find me no matter what," Alice said as she hugged me tightly, "You are my big brother, I know you will,"

"That's right chipmunk, that's right,"
