7 Chapter 7

After he was back, he decided to have some late-night training.

Soon settled on practicing his swing in forks dense forest; things like his reaction time, speed and coordination, etc.

Maybe he could try hunting an animal, then again he could map out a rough outline of Cullen's hunting range, and shifters' territory.

With everything sorted, he dashed straight into the forest behind his house, he ran in a direction that he guessed was opposite to Cullen's, still being mindful to not cross the river.

Along the way he started webbing like crazy, giving himself an extra boost; unfortunately, he kept getting hit by branches, and this made him try and learn to avoid doing just that.

Eventually, he drifted from the extremely sweet smells- that he kept on smelling and made his way towards denser woods and away from them.

His next course of action was to hunt a deer, even if it's nighttime, deer sometimes roam at night to avoid humans.

Stepping on a big rock, he followed the clip where Bella hunts; taking a deep breath, closing his eyes, he concentrated on sounds around him, unconsciously releasing some kind of wave.

Soon he discovered something was heading toward him, a rhythmic pattern of hooves tapping on the ground.

Opening his eyes he was bewitched to see a deer walking toward him, probing with her nose and slowly approaching him.

when near she threw away her remaining wariness and started rubbing her head and smelling him.

This incident made him forget, that he was hunting.

Shaking his head, clearing his thoughts he left the doe, and swung away; while leaving he watched as the doe tried her hardest to follow him.

Still amazed, he tried picking other scents there; smelling a musty smell he sprinted, soon appearing in front of a bear- just as he was ready to leap, bear's nose twitched, and again found himself in the situation of an animal rubbing and sniffing him.

He couldn't comprehend, what was going on. Did he have a gift that attracted animals? But his instincts told him- that was not the case.

After various rounds of different animals sniffing him, he found out he was releasing some kind of pheromones that attracted the animals, he was picturing in his mind.

He then recalled once reading about Spiders, doing that to attract prey.

He just forgo, and sunk his teeth in one of the bears he found after his various experiments; this time he wanted to see if the bear would die- by adjusting the amount he swallowed and not drain the bear too much.

While he was drinking, it came to his notice he was not releasing his venom, which in turn made bear feel no major threat; making the act of drinking blood painless and harmless.

He stayed for some time, trying to note down any negative reactions; but other than grunting just once there was no reaction worth mentioning.

So he went around experimenting, by actively pushing the venom. While also controlling the amount; he observed the results- depending on size, amount of venom, and type of species, made results varied.

Deducing if he did not actively release venom, then there was no chance of harm other than two harmless bite marks.

On the other note, it felt disgusting biting the fur of most animals; well he just needs to get over it or maybe just drink human blood from the bags and in an emergency drink an animal.

It did make him wonder if it was possible to drink directly from humans without turning or killing them- well possible or not, this also made him disgusted; going around sinking his teeth, yeah no.

Well, it's not as if drinking blood is his only source of energy; he has a feeling he can survive on food, and even so, he will continue drinking blood, surviving and living are two different things.

Ending his adventure with a Saitama-style workout, just for fun and to know his limit; he made his way back, trying to get a few hours of sleep before school.
