Family Breakfast

"Pepper!" Summer yelled from outside as she strutted back in, banging the door back into the wall and shut forcefully, straight towards the dining room where her father and his new family was having a happy breakfast.

"Pepper!" She called again, in the voice loud as same.

"Why are you yelling, Summer?" Pepper said exasperatedly.

"Did you take out the mails from the mail box today?" Summer asked straight away.

Pepper hesitated, sneaked a glance at Samuel who was busy reading the newspaper then back to Summer and sighed. "No. Why would I?" She answered back in a cool tone

Summer eyed her skeptically. "Really? Then what I saw my my window this morning, what was that?"

Pepper's throat went dry but her expressions didn't give away her anxiety. However much she deny, Summer intimidated her. She intimidated her since that Christmas when she entered this house to never leave again. Maybe that's why she treated Summer poorly, to prove to herself that she was the stronger one in their relationship. What she didn't know was that there was no relationship.

"If you know I took it out then why are you asking me?" She sighed, as if tired of the morning drama.

"Because there was a mail for me in there which you never cared to give to me!"

Pepper flinched, spilling her black coffee on the table. Samuel's attention was drawn from the not-so-exciting news to the mess just made. He then looked at Summer from above his glasses and sighed. Putting his newspaper away, he turned to her completely.

"What's with the morning chaos, Summer?" He asked, his one arm hanging from the back of the chair and his finger's entwined together.

"I had a mail from this morning which she didn't give me." Summer pointed venomly at Pepper.

"There was no mail for you!" Pepper exasperated, her arms failing in air dramatically.

"There-"

"Enough Summer. Why would Pepper intentionally take your mails? If there were, she would have given it to you." Samuel sighed, turning back to the table.

"But-"

"I want to have a nice family breakfast in peace. Come and sit down." He demanded.

Summer, in no condition would sit with them and eat. She glared openly at Pepper and then glared at the back of her father's head. From the corner of her eyes she caught on Lilian's smirk and Tanner's tired expressions. Without any word, she turned on her heels and stalked out of the room.
