10 Chapter 1.9

Orion was a patient teacher, taking great care to explain the nuances of each spell to Bonnie. He showed her how to properly channel the magic and the importance of controlling it. He taught her the intricacies of the offensive spells, explaining how to manipulate the energy to cause maximum damage to their target.

Despite the danger of using these spells, Orion knew that Bonnie was a capable student. She had a natural talent for magic, and with his guidance, she could quickly grasp the complexities of the spells. As they worked together, Orion began to see her grow in confidence, her once hesitant movements becoming fluid and practiced.

Orion also began experimenting with other forms of magic, drawing on his extensive knowledge of Voodoo and Hoodoo. He began to explore the darker aspects of magic, fascinated by the idea of using sacrificial magic to fuel spells. Though he was hesitant to use this type of magic himself, he found himself deeply intrigued by its potential.

As he delved deeper into his studies, Orion began to develop his unique style of magic, incorporating elements from various forms of magic to create powerful and unpredictable spells. His experimentation led to a deep understanding of magic, and he found himself able to create spells that he had never seen before.

Their training together was not only limited to offensive spells. Orion also taught Bonnie defensive spells and spells for healing and protection. He believed it was important for a witch to have a well-rounded knowledge of magic, not just offensive capabilities.

Bonnie took to Orion's teachings like a fish to water. With Orion's guidance, she had the opportunity to learn defensive and healing spells from Grams and offensive spells from Orion. It was the best of both worlds for Bonnie, and she was grateful for the opportunity to learn from two of the most knowledgeable witches in Mystic Falls.

Orion watched Bonnie as she practiced her spells, and he couldn't help but feel proud of her progress.

He knew his teachings were just a fraction of what Bonnie would need to become a skilled witch, but he was grateful for the opportunity to help her in any way he could. He saw the potential in her, and he was determined to help her reach it.

"You're doing well, Bonnie," he said, watching her movements closely. "Your progress in mastering these spells is impressive."

Bonnie smiled, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment. "Thanks, Orion. I couldn't have done it without your guidance. You have a real talent for teaching."

Orion chuckled. "I'm just passing on what I learned from Emily's grimoire. It's amazing how much knowledge and power is contained within those pages."

Orion would often attend the lessons with grams, observing the techniques and taking mental notes of the spells being taught. He would offer his own insights and suggestions, showing how the spells could be adapted for more offensive purposes. Bonnie was amazed at how easily Orion could turn a simple spell into a powerful weapon.

In their one-on-one sessions, Orion would show Bonnie the intricacies of casting offensive spells. He would teach her how to properly control the magic instead of letting the magic control her, emphasizing the importance of mental focus and intention. Bonnie was a quick learner and proved to be a natural at using the spells. She often marveled at the raw power at her fingertips and the potential it held.

But Orion was also cautious, constantly reminding Bonnie of the dangers of using offensive spells. He taught her that every spell had a consequence and that it was crucial to consider the potential outcomes before casting. He wanted Bonnie to understand that using magic for personal gain could lead down a dark and dangerous path.

Despite this, Bonnie continued to practice the spells with Orion, honing her skills and perfecting her techniques.

With the daylight spell ring now perfected, Orion was filled with a newfound sense of confidence and purpose. He had a plan, and it was a good one. But it required money, and he needed it fast. So, he took to his computer and began scrolling through online marketplaces, searching for a way to make some quick cash.

After careful research, he stumbled upon a bulk sale of lapis lazuli gems. Their deep blue hue and intricate patterns caught his eye, and he knew they would be the perfect addition to his plan. He placed an order online, excited at the thought of finally putting his plan into motion.

As he waited for the gems to arrive, he began crafting an ad for eBay. He knew that Slater, a frequent site user, would be the perfect target for his scheme. With carefully crafted words and an irresistible offer, he hoped to reel Slater in and make the desperately needed cash.

Orion carefully crafted the ad, ensuring it was intriguing and vague. He knew if Slater saw the ad, he would be curious enough to investigate further. The ad read, "Tired of terrible sunburns, or do your bones always ache so much you wanna howl? Well, come to me for the solution. For a reasonable price, I can make it all go away. I've even had people tell me my results were just...magical."

Orion leaned back in his chair and reread the ad. He was pleased with how it turned out. It was subtle enough to avoid suspicion from anyone unfamiliar with the supernatural world yet intriguing enough to catch the attention of someone like Slater.

Orion knew that Slater frequented eBay, so he used it to his advantage. He posted the ad under the username "mysticman."

Orion felt a sense of excitement and nervousness as he read the message. He knew this was the moment he had been waiting for, and now it was time to put his plan into action.

Days passed, and Orion had almost given up hope of hearing from Slater when he finally received a message. The message was from a user called "NightFang," It simply read, "I'm interested in the item you have for sale. Can we meet?"

Orion felt a sense of excitement and apprehension as he typed his response to NightFang. He had been waiting for this moment for eternity and couldn't afford to mess it up. He carefully crafted his message, providing clear instructions for their meeting.

He chose the Café Noir, a quiet and secluded spot perfect for their needs. It was located just far from Mystic Falls to avoid unwanted attention, yet still close enough for Slater to make the journey.

As he hit the send button, Orion couldn't help but feel a rush of anticipation. He knew this meeting could start a valuable partnership to give him access to the supernatural world's secrets and knowledge. However, he also knew he had to be careful, as the wrong move could have disastrous consequences.

Orion knew that revealing his true identity could jeopardize his plans with Slater, so he devised a plan to use magic to conceal his appearance and identity. He spent countless hours researching and practicing the spells he would need to transform himself into someone else.

First, he worked on a spell to alter his physical appearance. He wanted to make sure he looked different enough that Slater wouldn't recognize him but still natural enough that he wouldn't draw attention. After several unsuccessful attempts, Orion finally discovered the perfect spell. It allowed him to change the color of his hair and eyes and even alter the shape of his face. He used the spell to make himself look a little older, appearing as a 20-year-old rather than his actual age.

Next, he needed a spell to cloak himself, making him invisible to anyone who might be watching. He had used this spell before on many occasions, but he wanted to perfect it for this meeting. After many hours of practice, he finally mastered the spell and could move around wholly undetected.

He arrived at the coffee shop a few hours early to set up his invisibility spell. Carefully, he cast a powerful incantation that would make everyone in the coffee shop unable to acknowledge his presence. He focused on making the spell strong enough so no one could hear or see him.

As he cast the spell, he felt the power surge through him, and he knew that he had succeeded. He looked around the coffee shop and saw that everyone was continuing their conversations and routines, unaware of his presence.

Satisfied with his work, he found a nearby table and waited for Slater to arrive, confident he could maintain his invisibility spell for as long as needed.

It was 3:00 pm, and Slater had just come in from the back room of the café, unaware of Orion's presence. Orion, who had temporarily lifted the cloaking spell, motioned for Slater to come to his table.

Slater hesitated as he sat opposite Orion, his eyes narrowing with suspicion. His senses were on high alert, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as he looked at the witch sitting across from him. He knew too well that witches didn't typically offer daylight rings to vampires, so he was naturally cautious. However, he also knew the prospect of having a daylight ring was too good to pass up, so he decided to hear Orion out and see what he had to offer.

As Slater held the precious daylight spell ring in his hand, he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. After centuries of hiding in the shadows, he could finally walk in the sun. But his joy was short-lived as Orion's voice broke through his thoughts.

"Before I give you a ring, Slater, we need to make a deal," Orion said with a calculating glint in his eyes.

Slater's heart sank. He knew nothing came for free in the supernatural world, and he braced himself for the worst. "What do you want?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Orion's demands were steep - one million dollars, two rare and powerful grimoires, and a network of vampire clients for his daylight ring business. Slater knew that it would be a challenge to fulfill all of Orion's requests, but he also knew that the lure of the sun was too strong to resist.

"And what do I get in return?" Slater asked, trying to negotiate.

Orion's lips curled into a sly smile. "You get the ring, Slater. That's all you need, isn't it?"

As Orion discussed the logistics of their partnership with Slater, he became increasingly aware of the risks involved in giving such a powerful tool as the daylight ring to random vampires. He didn't want to jeopardize the safety of himself or his allies by giving the rings to someone who could use them against him.

Orion developed a plan to ensure his safety before handing the rings to Slater. He needed to ensure that Slater wouldn't betray him or use them for nefarious purposes. Using his vast knowledge of magic, Orion imbued each ring with a subtle loyalty spell that would gradually make any vampire who wore the ring unknowingly more loyal to him. This would ultimately bring them under his control.

However, Orion knew this alone was insufficient to ensure his safety. He also cast a powerful hex over the rings, which would cause death to anyone who attempted to harm Orion or his family. This would deter potential threats and ensure the calls would not be used against him. The best use of the curse however was that all the energy of the vampire's that died while wearing the rings would get transferred to a ring that he had made specifically for this. It also took a tiny bit of energy from them on a daily basis. So little in fact, that it would be impossible for them to notice. But, if his business grew in the future, that would mean tens if not hundreds of vampires wearing his rings. Which would also mean that he would have an inexhaustible magical battery all for himself at his fingertips ready to be used however he liked.

God he was such a genius sometimes.

However, the hex was dangerous so it's not like he would cast it whenever he wanted. But, despite the danger of casting it, Orion was willing to take the risk if it meant gaining more protection for him and his family. He knew he had to be careful with the spell and hex to avoid making them too obvious or firm. So, he made them gradual and subtle, making it unlikely for other vampires to realize what was happening.

Slater hesitated for a moment, weighing his options. He knew that making a deal with Orion would come with a cost, but the thought of walking in the sun was too tempting to ignore. He took a deep breath and held out his hand. "Fine," he said firmly. "You have a deal."

Slater felt warmth spread through his body as he slipped the ring onto his finger. He stepped out into the sunlight, feeling the heat on his skin for the first time in centuries. But even as he basked in the sun's glory, he couldn't shake the feeling of unease in the pit of his stomach. He knew that he had just made a deal with the devil, and he couldn't help but wonder what the true cost of his freedom would be.

—----

As Slater quickly began to market the rings to his connections in the supernatural community, it took a while for the demand to skyrocket. But as word spread, vampires worldwide were willing to pay top dollar for a chance to walk in the sun, and the money started rolling in.

Slater felt a sense of satisfaction that his risky business venture had paid off. However, he also knew that he had to be cautious and avoid getting caught in the crossfire of the witch-vampire war that had been brewing for centuries. But he couldn't help feeling a sense of gratitude and a budding loyalty towards Orion, who had given him a tool that had changed his life.

Over time, Slater and Orion continued to work closely together. Slater provided Orion with valuable information about the supernatural world, while Orion continued to provide him with the daylight rings that had made him a fortune.

Their partnership had the potential to be a game-changer - both for Slater and the entire vampire community.
