4 Like a Brother

Dad was always cautious of Jamal thinking we were dating at the beginning of our friendship but the more Jamal was around he grew on Dad soon Jamal was like a son to Dad. Jamal is the friend I never knew I needed. It's funny how we met too, he wasn't in my class, we weren't childhood friends or anything. So it was my first week of high school and there was a football game that Thursday. I wasn't a sports fan but I thought it would be cool to watch a football game for the first time so I bought the ticket and to the match, I was going. The thing is it was going to rain that day but I wouldn't know I don't watch the news. So there I was on my way to the stadium (I know yes my school had a stadium, It wasn't anything fancy though) not knowing it was going to be a rainy day literally. So I'm there the match was going well my school had the lead which sadly they didn't hold for long, anyway the match played out we lost, without warning the rain came pouring no if you were thinking Jamal was there and sheltered me under his umbrella don't get it wrong he was there but he didn't shelter me home or to the subway that wasn't his role in the story. You best believe I was walking straight to the subway in this pouring rain and that was when I saw Jamal doing the same so we get to talking about walking home in the rain and not watching the news enough one thing led to another we were talking about how we both love rap music and that's how our friendship began. Now I don't think to this day anybody knows me like Jamal.
