Jojji and Jiko were once like brothers, Jiko was the son of the evil dictator Kukri, Kukri didn't like the relationship between his son and Jojji because Jojji was a Portuguese (from Portugal) mortal enemy of Japan.

After being brainwashed by his father, Jiko stopped talking to Jijjo, and when his father died and he was crowned king of Japan, he banished Jojji and his family from their home and forced them to live in a poor town called Pobreza.

Joki was even more infamous than his father and forced all non-Japanese citizens to live in inhumane conditions.
