23 Chapter 19

While talking and enjoying the snacks, Queen Maria came out and said.

"It seems weird your parents died around the same time and you came to the thrown after like you were ready for it."

After hearing this Vladimir's gourds put their hand on the hilt of their sabers ready to draw. They felt like his majesty was disrespected. Who wants to hear that their leader killed their parents for the thrown.

Vladimir puts his hands up to stop, then calmly replies.

"yes, it was a pure coincidence it happened and the reason I took the throne is that I'm older" He hands up getting ready to leave because the mood is ruined. Right before leaving, he says

"King Roland, sometimes the fall of a great man is because of a woman," He leaves and walks out of the castle.

Once out of sight, Roland looks at his wife angrily and asks.

"Are you stupid?! How can you say that to someone who has an army outside our walls and weapons you can't even imagine" He then remembers that day, seeing soldiers being killed from afar and some not knowing what killed them. Some more even died from their injuries after.

"I just wanted to test him and see what he is like" yes she wanted to test him and see if he could support her son. Roland shakes his head.

"you're lucky he didn't want to have you hanged" He would have thought that Roland had just predicted her fate in the future.

Once out of the castle, one of his guards comes up to Vladimir and asks

"Your Majesty, how could you have her accuse you of something like that? "

"Because this kingdom and the kingdom of the elves are just stepping stones for the fatherland, not to mention I will deal with her in the future" He has no attention to his parents' but it was still disrespectful. What if she had said it in public or at a party? Would rumor start then spread?.

They make their way over to a hotel for nobles and the rich that was recommended by the king. Once there, he got a room but didn't stay, Instead, he went to a restaurant to try the food.

He takes a seat by the window and started to think of the outer city while passing through and starts muttering.

"boys.... young boys.... slaves.... soldiers... Janissaries" Vlad thought of Janissaries. They were the elite troops of the Ottoman Empire that were made from enslaved Christian boys they were feared during the cold weapons era.

He doesn't want to form them, though. Instead, he will create the young guard like Napoleon's only difference: he will keep them as only infantry and cavalry. They will be his elite infantry and used to balance his palace and Leib guards. They are loyal now which is great but I can't speak for my descendants and these guys will get old and will be changed out.

"Yuri" Vladimir calls out, and a guard comes to him "yes your majesty?"

"Go the camp outside and take some soldiers with you to the outer city and round up some ranging for the age of 4 to 10 or 11. After getting them to take them outside the city, feed, and clothes them, then take them back to Russia. Have them lived in the barracks and get used to it." Yuri nods and was going to leave before being stopped.

"no cripples and any with deformities and don't be afraid to buy some if necessary "Yuri nods again and leaves. Vlad starts to think of the training for them. It will be harsh and some may even die but he isn't concerned about it plus they will receive school education and hardcore brainwashing to be loyal to the Tsar.

I want an elite force that won't betray me and a force that will follow my commands wholeheartedly so if I asked them to die then they will die without questions asks and to mention he remembered what happened to Peter III.

He was a disliked leader and went with Pro-Prussian policies, but still; he was overthrown by his wife with soldiers loyal to her, so these young guards will also be a counter to the Leib and royal guards. They are loyal now but what about my descendants plus these guys will get old and will be changed out so can I speak for them then.

He is using boys from here because first; they have no family to return to and no one will miss them per se, especially if they die during training. Second, the nobles won't care about the lives of some peasants.
