Memories

That night she fell into a deep slumber. Her sleep was pleasant but the dream made her feel like the hole in her heart which she had carefully patched together just got ripped back open again.

In her previous relationship before he came along she had been stupid. A stupid love struck girl who had lost her mind for someone who didn't care. Right from the start it had been a game for only one. That's why she closed off her heart. She knew that she wouldn't find true love easily and almost doubted it was real until she met the man who left in peace but her heart in pieces, then she knew that true love was nothing but a sugar coated lie.

It's funny how people only tell you about the good, the happiness and the smiles but no one tells you about the pain. In fact no one tells you how to deal with pain. Maybe that's why it hurts more than it should.

Looking back at the her past self she always cringed. A little innocent girl who thought too little but what about now, now she thought too much.

Everything was over thought, nothing was natural, in fact society today wasn't natural. Everything seemed fake.

With these thoughts occupying her head she left for work. Her job wasn't easy, Lucas wasn't letting her off because she was interesting to him which made her feel relieved. Even when he briefly spoke to her she felt the jealous looks build up behind her. Today she was typing away at her desk when Lucas came striding in with a sly smile.

Knowing that people would think he was favouring her if he talked too often to her he walked past her desk quickly leaving a note behind. Making sure no one was looking she opened the note 'Come to Le Rouge tonight because your hubby wants to see you darling!' was written in neat letters and in brackets underneath (If you don't show up I'll fire you ;).

She gritted her teeth and took a deep breath. You can't keep running she told herself. She needed to confront him sooner or later, she knew she did but it wasn't as easy as it sounded. For now let's finish work she thought as she pushed those thoughts away.

That night when she arrived back at the hotel she thought about whether to go or not. A simple black dress was hung up in front of her ready to go but was she? She could run away from this all but she wasn't a stupid girl from those cliche stories; but she wasn't those strong women from those stories too. No she would go. Listen to his stupid excuses. Slap him. Then leave. Repeating those words in her head she slipped into the dress did her hair and makeup and strode confidently out the door while almost tripping over due to her heels. I'm going to do this she thought.

One of my eyes are swollen from hay fever so yeah I wrote this one eyed (is that a thing?)

Also got my exams soon so imma use that as an excuse fro not updating enjoy!
