16 Chapter 16: Hunt

After all, keeping this kind of routine for 10 days without stop is hard. I almost got used to the pain but after doing it for more than a week it gets boring. But after hanging in there for 10 days I finally got my result.

After enduring for 10 days I managed to increase my Mana Vessel Rank by whole rank. And as my Vessel rank increases I can actually feel my control over my mana and mana's purity increasing. Every time my rank increases my perception increases too. I see things with more clarity.

And my third door is way too useful. Its use is way too versatile. At fifth of my training I understood my third doors full potential. Just like the name suggests it can simulate any kind situations as long as I can imagine it.

So, after increasing my vessel rank I tried casting my spells. Just as I expected more mana I pump into the spell matrix of fireball more its temperature increased. If pump in all my mana the color starts to turn blue. And that suggests high temperature. And it applies to my flame thrower too. So, now my spells actually pack a little bit of punch to it.

But my biggest discovery is due to my increased mana control and quantity I managed to make a simple weapon with my mana. But only something simple like daggers and hammer. And since mana is invincible its more fatal. Since others can't see my weapon.

I can make simple explosive from my elemental mana since all I go to do is fill a container with elemental mana and ignite a spark inside the container to make it explode.

But my biggest discovery was that I can actually control my mana construct according to my will. And it's actually pretty useful. I can simply make a dagger out of my mana and control it like a drone with my mind. It pretty cool. If only I could make more than one dagger.

Even though my mana quantity is higher now I need more mana to make a sturdy dagger from mana. Because I need to compress my mana to make a dagger, and compressing something smoke like to solid object takes a lot of it.

Today after increasing my Vessel rank I decided to go out and hunt. After consulting with the tree, I figured out that cliff I reached other day is like another boundary. From that point to the little creek is where weakest creatures live. And apparently, I can kill them now. At least according to the tree.

And my camouflage and telekinetic dagger can prove to be tremendous help.

So, today I decided to head west again, according to tree apparently to the west live mammals, to the east live reptiles, to the north live avian and to the south live insects. And since I can't fly that rules out north. For some reason, just the thought of insects repulses me and reptiles are usually venomous so, I choose west.

Before crossing the creek, I enter camouflage and cross the creek. Still same feeling. After closing my eyes and taking a deep breath I connect to my surrounding more deeply and see my surrounds in 3D.

For now, there is no hostiles in 10 meters radius. After confirming that I walk heading west for about 20 minutes creature comes into my radar. As soon as I notice it I climb the nearest tree and look to the direction of the creature and see that it's a quadrupled animal with green fur like forest around it with head like saber tooth and lean body of a jaguar. About 2 meters tall and 5 meters long. Since head is proportionate to the body it looks like a graceful assassin.

I managed to see it because of my radar. If it was someone else without radar it would prove difficult to notice the beast. Considering its formidable capacity to blend in with the forest.

After coming down from the tree I close in on the beast quietly. I stop 5 meters away from the beast and observe it quietly. Just as I suspected it's a predator waiting for its prey while waiting patiently for the right moment to strike.

I circle around the beast quietly and come behind it. Then I conjure up a mana dagger and approach the beast as quiet as I can. Just as I come in a meter radius beasts ears perk up and it looks back. As soon as it looks back I stay as still as I can stay and wait. It takes a few sniffs and looks around it observing its surroundings.

After searching for a while, it looks forward and continues to wait. I wait for 5 more minutes and will my mana dagger above its head and drop it with all the power I can muster.

Just as dagger was about to pierce its skull it suddenly swerves its head sideway and dodges my dagger immediately after dodging my dagger it turns to me and swipes with its right paw. It almost slashes me but I manage to fall to my knees and dodge the swipe.

After that I roll back as fast as I can but my movement gives my location to the beast and it chases after me and swipes with its left paw at me this time. This time it manages to scratch me right across my chest.

Fresh blood spurts out as my camouflage gets canceled. The pain is actually not as bad as tearing my brain cells and mending it back. So, it's not so bad. But beast staring at me might become an issue.

Maybe because my sudden appearance beast pauses for moment but as soon as it gets over its shock it pounces at me with its razor-sharp teeth. But before it manages to bite my face I manage to cast my fire breath.

Crimson fire with blue hue spurts out from my mouth and heads for the beasts open mouth. Just as I was about to rejoice at the fortune on my part beast shuts its mouth like a vice and faces my fire head on with close eyes.

As I run out of breath my fire gets extinguished and the beast opens its eyes and look down on me with its slightly singed face. Fuck, it got that condensation in its eyes. Pisses me off. This time it's being more careful just circling me around.

Fuck I wanted this to be a hunt not another melee.
