1 A New Librarian

"Why do you insist on studying here Myra."

"First of all, no one forced you to be here Daniel. Second, this place is close to the café. Plus I can't stand the judgy looks I get from the librarian."

"Yeah but at the campus they have state of the art computers."

"Not you too Sera. We don't need state of the art computers just to review notes or work on projects. Listen, after we finish I'll pay for the coffee.

"Fiiinnne." They say in unison.

'I knew Bribery was the way to go.'

Myra, Daniel, and Sera are all seated around a table at the public library. It's a small quaint place with no more than a couple of people ever there at a time. The group has been there for no more than a half hour, studying their notes and materials for the next test they have coming up.

"K, I'll be back. Keep my seat warm for me while I'm gone."

"Ok."

Daniel wrinkles his nose.

"Gross."

Myra rises from her chair and heads to the front desk. The front desk is next to the main entrance. Normally only one or two librarians are on duty. The desk is made of dark oak and is so tall that anyone under 162cm would be unable to even notice the librarian sitting at the desk. Myra approaches the front desk to see a short girl only about 161cm, with chin length nova blonde, and piercing green eyes. She is wearing a long sky blue dress that reaches her knees. The dress has a large front pocket that appears to be just for decoration. She appears to have a very modest bust size of an A cup. This is in stark contrast to Myra who is 178cm tall, has scruffy dark red hair that almost reaches to her mid back, and has baby blue eyes. Her common attire consists of running shorts or maybe jeans if it was cool out. She most commonly wore a T-shirt with words written across the chest. This would get people to notice her C cup bust. Immediately after seeing this small girl sitting where the more considerably older librarian normally sits she froze. After a couple of seconds the girl looks up from a book she was apparently reading.

"C-can I help you?"

'My God, her voice. It's so cute!'

"Yeah, what happened to Martha, the old librarian. She used to work this shift."

"Oh her, She retired. I'll be taking over her shifts. Is that all I can help you with?

"No, I was hoping to have the bathroom key."

The girl sets her book down and leans down. Myra can hear her rummaging through a box.

"Kinda weird for a place like this to have just one bathroom huh."

As the girl sits back up in her chair and hands the key over.

"I think it's kinda nice."

The girl let's go of the key and immediately goes back to her book. Myra walks to the bathroom but when she gets out of sight she turns to her study table.

The girl gives kne final look to Myra as she heads out of view.

'She looked really nice. Maybe… no, I don't deserve something like that. She doesn't deserve someone like me.'

Myra makes it back to her table. She moves at lighting speed. She slams her hands on the table and stares back and forth at Daniel and Sera.

"Why didn't either of you tell me the new librarian was so cute!"

"I didn't even notice."

"I did, but you don't need to chase after another fling. Besides she's probably like 17." says Daniel.

"No way, gotta be at least 18. Plus she is totally my type."

"What if she isn't into "that" sort of thing. Most dainty girls aren't like that. Most are more like…"

"Like what Daniel?" asks Sera.

"Yeah, like what?"

"Nevermind."

Daniel quickly sits back in his chair looking down at the floor.

"Despite his incoherence I think I get what he's trying to say. Myra, when's the last time you've had a relationship, a serious one. One where you longing looked into that special someone's eyes and wanted to spend eternity with them."

"Um… Well, let's see…"

Daniel looks back up from the floor and points his finger at Myra.

"See! I bet you can't stick with the same person for even a month."

"I totally could, I just haven't found that special someone yet."

"Does fucking them within a week of meeting them required to know if their special?"

"I wouldn't go that far but Myra if you could, take it a bit slower. Why not just try being friends first."

"Friends… I can do that. I hope she will talk to me. She didn't seem very interested when I first talked to her."

Myra quickly took off to the restroom as she has had to seriously go this entire time. She promptly returns to the table and picks up a book.

"Do you really think you're going to read this when we're not with you to force you?"

Myra gives Daniel a smirk and heads to the front counter. She sets the book on the counter next to the key.

"Glad to see you came back. I worried for a second you were just going to run off with the key. Glad to see you returned."

"Of course I would. And I'd like to check out this book here."

Myra gently pats the book on the counter. The girl takes the book and scans it. She starts typing on the computer.

"I'm going need see your library card."

Myra takes out her card and hands it to the girl. Their hands almost touching as they pass it off. The girl quickly scans over the card and continues typing in the computer.

"So M-Myra, here's your card and book. Make sure to return it by the end of next week."

Myra tried to hide a smug grin on her face as she took the book and card back.

"Well seeing you know my name. It's only fitting I know yours. I come here a lot and I'd hate to call you new Martha."

'Score, I am a genius. My plan is coming together.'

"Oh... sure. I'm Amelie."

"Say, if your not busy this weekend, maybe you could have some drinks with me and some friends. You can drink, right?

"O-of course I can. I'm twenty-two.

'No, what am I saying I can't do something like that, go out in public.'

'What! Twenty-two. How is she a year older than me? She looks like she's barely eighteen.'

"T-twenty-two… great. Then it's a date. Be at the pub round the corner this Saturday at six."

Myra picks up the book and card and heads back to her table. As she does she looks back to Amelie.

"Hope to see you there, A-me-lie."

Myra rounds the corner out of sight and heads back to her table.

'Maybe it will be alright to have a few more friends… just friends. I don't even know what her friends are like. They can't be all bad, if they're like her.'

Myra returns to her friends with a huge triumphant smile plastered on her.

"Looks like we're having drinks this weekend."

"What, no. I am not getting dragged into your scheme to bang a high-school girl."

"She's not actually a seventeen year ya perv, She's twenty-two. And second, you guys were the ones that said I should take things slow. If I show up just myself she's going to feel tricked."

"That's right, we did say that."

"We didn't, you did Sera."

"Well Im game. Sounds like it could be fun to hang around another girl."

"Ugh, fine. But I can't drink too much, I got class tomorrow."

'Sweet, It's all coming together.'
