3 A Day In The Life of ...

The next day, you're back at work, this time with a schedule. You went through the details of your contract yesterday and so you have some knowledge of all the tasks that may be required of you, but for the most part, you'll be doing a lot of odd tasks to start.

You go over the details for the day ahead as you head downstairs. A vehicle's waiting for you outside and will bring you to your first stop where you'll pick up a suit and dress after which you'll return to the office and begin sorting through the countless files the previous assistant left unattended in her absence.

Stepping outside you greet the driver, who opens the door for you, then take a seat in the back of the car. He introduces himself as Mike as he takes a seat in the front and starts the car. You, in turn, respond with your name and destination before burying your head in your phone.

There's a lot to process in very little time. First, you need to pick out an outfit for Kate and a plus one for the upcoming ball in a week's time and arrange for it to be sent to her home in a few days. Then you have a few meetings to arrange and reschedule to compensate for the date of the ball. Not to mention the tons of files you have to sort through.

It takes a while to organise your calendar as efficiently as possible but once done, you breathe a sigh of relief. You'll double-check it later. For now, though, you simply enjoy the rest of the ride.

It isn't long before you arrive at your first destination. Stepping out of the car, you find yourself face to face with one of the most expensive stores in the city, Azure.

Trying not to stare, you head inside to begin the arduous task of actually choosing an outfit. Nearly an hour later and with the assistance of two attendants and a passerby you have, through a process of elimination, lowered the number of dresses and suits to 2 pairs each. They all leave you to make the choice on your own. You haven't told them what or who the clothes are for so the interaction went rather smoothly.

After a few more minutes, you make a decision and pay for them with the card Kate gave you earlier that morning and they package them neatly for you. You hold the door for one of the assistants as she helps you carry the bags out. Usually, you'd be able to carry everything on your own but the packaging doesn't allow for such delicacies. In fact, both occupy the entire back portion of the car, forcing you to sit in front with Mike. He doesn't seem to mind though so you slip in after thanking the attendants for their help once more and he starts driving you back.

Back at the office, you hand over the clothing to the cry cleaning team and rush to the elevator. You spent a lot more time than you had planned to in that store. As soon as you reach your desk you hit the books, not even bothering to look up a people pass to and fro in front of your desk until someone knocks.

Looking up you are surprised to find your boss standing before you with two cups of coffees. You are even more surprised when she hands you one.

"Thanks?"

She laughs as she takes a sip of her own cup.

"I was getting one for myself and figured you could use one."

Before you get the chance to respond, her phone goes off and she waves bye as she walks back to her desk.

Sometime later, as you are finishing up on your work for the day, she stops by your desk once more with the same dress you bought earlier. She's already decked out in the suit and smiles deviously as she rests the dress on your desk and over your work.

"Ready for our date?"
