Yes or No

CHAPTER THREE

"I will drive today. You should just enjoy the ride." Sera grabbed the car keys from Felix's hand. Felix was puzzled, he couldn't trust the driving of his careless sister. "Don't give me that look! Bro ... I can drive better than you". Sera smirked.

Summer was just around the corner. The days became relatively warmer, the clear blue sky covered in the bright canopy, and the busy streets of the city dazzling under the reflection of the sunlight, helped Felix relax a bit. When he watched his sister driving through the city, swearing at the bicycle that almost bombarded with the car, listening to her favourite radio show, he couldn't help but chuckle and acknowledge that she was no longer the little girl that used to hide under the bed at the sound of the thunder, the girl that used to cry when bullied for not having a mother, the one that saved up her lunch money for months just to get a present on his birthdays. For a moment Felix thought that his loved ones will be okay even if he wasn't around and that thought didn't hurt him anymore.

[ At movie theatre]

The theatre was brimming with people. Sera was busy buying tickets. Although Sera insisted on paying for everything that day, Felix thought he should at least treat her to some drinks and popcorns. There was a huge queue at the food counter, he squished through the crowd to get some snacks.

"THUD"(the sound of slapping). "Can't you freaking choose what to eat?, Dammit! I got swayed by my parents and married you but I didn't know I would have to babysit you all day!. Grow up for god's sake !", said the man to the woman who seemed to be his wife. He had a well-maintained body and was dressed in a designer suit, even the watch he wore was worth the annual income of a salaryman. The girl was standing, getting yelled at without a single flinch. She had pale skin, with memorable features. She was extremely skinny and was attired in extreme elegance. She was the epitome of beauty. "Buy something for you, I don't want my mom to complain that I didn't even feed you", the man slammed his card in her hand and walked away from the counter. Felix was stunned. He was more surprised at her stiff reaction rather than his stinking words. Being a psychologist, he was used to patients with traumatic or abusive households. But, something about her ached his heart.

Felix approached her while glaring at the mumbling crowd as if he was asking them to back off and leave her alone. He was close enough to discover the tears in the corner of her eyes. "Umm ..I am Felix, it's okay if you don't reply to me, I just wanted to check up on you". He took out a coin from his pocket, placed it on the top of her hand without making much physical touch. Her eyes were glued to the floor, but Felix could read her confused looks like an open book. " Well, whenever you struggle to make a decision just toss the coin in the air if it's heads then take it as a 'yes' or if its tails take it as 'no', this way you won't have to think about making a decision all by yourself". She took a glance at Felix, quick enough to avoid any eye contact." Bro! hurry up, the movie is gonna start soon..." Felix looked back to find Sera waving at him asking him to come. He looked at the woman clenching to the coin he just gave and chuckled " You can trust me with this, I am a therapist" he quickly handed her his business card and grabbed his popcorn and ran towards Sera.

"What took you so long?, I was waiting for an eternity. Ahh! My ice cream is gonna melt let's hurry!".
