6 Ominous Tidings

"Ugh, another terrible dream as usual." Piece by piece small fragments of my past came back to me. It felt like a stampede of cows over my head every time a fragment of memory surfaced in my dreams. 4 years of waiting did not make all of my memories come back and neither have I received any contact from the others.

"Looks like I can't even bring out any of the items in my void storage yet." Thinking about all of my riches, food and items being locked away made me tearful. Although, being reminded of that rude bow and that crazy holy sword did alleviate my regret a little.

Measuring my abilities right now, I'm able to punch the literal lights out of a grown man, unrivaled stamina and vigorous strength comparing to someone 10 years older than me. Not very accurate however, it is enough until I grasp one of those ability measuring marbles. These marbles are hard to come by as it is only found in guilds known as Advent. Its ability to measure people and their strengths made them highly demanded and to top it off, diamond was required to forge them. Although diamond was no problem to make as pressurizing and compressing things such as coal, graphite or any other carbon items to the limits would enable one to potential create it.

Normally this would be extremely hard in the world I came from, in this one, people had strengths which could dominate continents and single-handedly destroy a modern army.

I was one of them, though it isn't important now. Revealing who I am may lead to a massive bounty hunt. I'm not one to court death. Although I do know a certain someone whom death wouldn't court.

The magical formation in the ability measuring marble was the key. If I could be a part of Advent then various jobs would become available to me. The bottom limit of registration was fourteen and that was the reason why we ventured outside until we were unfortunately discovered. Though we lived in peace in the orphanage, that was only until her hair started to change from black to a red color. I presume it must be her waking up. Unlike her, I predict that I was crippled of my particles and Paths, which resulted into my body regressing alongside my memories.

I'm sure she has been attempting to 'descend' into the world. Also unlike me, her Paths and particles cannot be crippled. Those strong enough to be called Champions cannot descend upon the world unless a special permission is given out in the meeting. She must have decided to take things into her own hands and immediately send me down but why? Was it to solve the Corruption? Yeah, I can assume so however, the other Champions were enough, there was no reason to pick just me, in fact, where were they?

Descending meant taking control of a highly compatible human who could become the avatar of the Goddess, she would become her and in turn, she would be granted 'power and glory'. Sounds awfully familiar but anyway, it isn't like mind-control either, it would be like the sharing of thoughts, intentions and feeling.

A massive power that she's wielding would be too much for a little girl and as such, she could only transmit her strength little by little. Though there has been little to no progress so far aside from her hair changing colors. Alongside misery... Oh, let's not forget bad luck... As well as hatred of everyone around her.. Sigh.

A loud squeaking sound of a door opening vibrated through out the old home as a petite girl made her way towards me.

"Uhm, err, sorry for waking you up."

"Oh, no problem, I was deep in thought, that was all." I stood up and walked to where she was.

"From now on, it's going to be very hard, you've got a long and tough road ahead of you."

Francesca looked up towards me.

"Alias, you don't seem like yourself lately. Did that flashing light make everyone suddenly hate us? Is it because of me that you're hurt?" She glanced towards my bloodied clothes.

"No no no! This is from those bad people, so don't worry!"

"Still, you hurt all of those people just for me. Uhm, er." She gabbed the hem of my torn shirt and looked up towards me.

Looking at it closely, isn't she a cute one? Worrying about others before herself above anything else.

Seeing her current distressed expression, I knew I had to do something.

I started flexing my non-existent muscles.

"Fufufu, don't worry, your big brother is plenty strong to handle those weaklings! Besides, anyone that tries to harm us are bad people so don't put too much thought into it."

Of course I couldn't tell her of all the complex matters and had to simplify it down to its basics even if I had to lie a bit.

I definitely wouldn't survive if they encircled and trapped me into an attack formation.

Still, we have to find a way to survive and live in the present before I start saving the world or something.

I'd rather be lounging in heaven and eating my favorite potato chips though.
